Lou Saban was a master motivator. He was sometimes a loose cannon, but he could always get his squad motivated to get their jobs done. Sometimes that mean't on-field improvisation. Saban was best when he had smart, if not the most talented players on his team. It is just unfortunate that his own demeanor dictated that he pi$$ off management and go away mad. He had passion that Bills fans have never again seen. Chuck Knox was a strict disiplinarian. It was, like Coughlin, his way or the highway. He didn't win because of motivational skills, but rather by insisting on perfection in players technique and assignments. He got his wins by getting the most from his players performing as a system on a team. Likely a style that can't win today with the egos of modern players. Either way, it is highly unlikely that we will ever have a coach like either of them in Bflo again, because the game has changed.

Then, if the Bills perform like they did in Foxboro, I believe that Mularkey should be replaced on Monday morning. I'm willing to wait until then to see if their progress before last night was real or just smoke & mirrors.

Once again, I wish you guys would quit with the O-line reasoning. Let's face facts. In this league, O-lines are are all close in skills, with a few notable exceptions like Orlando Pace and a couple others who are just plain dominating. As an example, just look the ravens game to see what Schobel did with a so-called dominating O-tackle. And, as far as McNally goes, he's obviously a great O-line coach as the past speaks for itself. So, why can't the Bills O-line do squat? It's the QB, folks. 3/4ths of an O-line's performance is predicated on knowing what your QB will be doing and where your QB will be doing it. It is both for position and for confidence. Right now, the only thing anybody knows about Drew is that he'll be holding the ball, while lying on his back. In essence, the line has no contingency plan for Bledsoe to move to safety as the pocket evolves and they certainly have no confidence in knowing that he'll find that safe place. That's because he can't and won't. Its funny, because a couple weeks ago when we all gasped as we saw Drew actually sidestep a rusher and step into the pocket a couple times, the line seemed to miraculously be giving him solid protection. Duh, the line wasn't playing any better than they generally play. But, for a change, they had a little confidence that they could create a little safe pocket and have Drew get into the safe spot and step into his throws and complete a few passes with some accuracy. Its just a case of the O-line and the QB getting on the same page, so-to-speak. For whatever reason, Drew is incapable of improvising on the fly with his O-line. Until we get somebody that can play with his head in the game that way, our line will look bad. When we do, the line will be fine with the guys we have. Great, no. But fine, yes.

I remember back in the late 60s, the Bills had an OT named Gary Bugenhagen, who lived a few doors down from my uncle in Clarence. Thems was baaaaad days in Bills history. I remember Gary telling my uncle about how Bills fans would drive by and throw their garbage on his lawn. Every day he was out there cleaning up the mess. I hate losing as much now as I did then. I can only say how badly I felt for the Bugenhagen family. As a Bills fan, I'm embarrassed about it today as I was then. Please don't incite similar actions against Drew or any other Bills player or coach.

Please remove the OT notation. This is obviously an on-topic discussion. The issue here is exactly the same as the Bills woes. Airbus has a aircraft design problem and NTSC blames the pilot for not doing what he does best, resulting in a bad accident. Donohoe has a team design problem and the fans and media blame the QB for doing what he does best, resulting in an accident waiting to happen. Moral of the story: Don't fly on Airbus aircraft, or buy anymore Bills tix.

You could build a place shaped like a dumpster. Paint a picture of your favorite Bills in each of the urinals, like Pucillo, MW, TD, Drew and all the weekly culprits. Run a special on gamedays. A complimentary barfbag every Sunday 1-4pm. All liquor is free during redzone drives. Loaner shotguns for those prospective suicide victims that have just had enough of this crap. Oh, by the way... I think you should keep all the fun in the parking lot. That's what they do at Bills games.

The only point I take issue with Bill on, is that this coaching staff is not "real." I personally believe that Mularkey will be a fine coach. It is obvious that many of the staff members he has brought on-board are amongst the cream of the NFL crop. This is especially true of Sam Wyche. I value Sam more than McNally. Gray is proving that he is a top flight DC. All in all, I believe that the current staff is ripe for becoming a great staff down the line. Of course, Mularkey needs some Hc experience before we can pass that judgement. It has been said here before, that the problem in replacing a GM is that he will want to clean house and bring in his own people. Right now, I do not want to see our coaching staff replaced.... now, or in the near future.

Yes, Drew looks bad. Yes, too many drops. Yes, coaches learning on the fly. Yes, dumb mistakes continue. Real problem that is not fixable this season: O-line is just bad.

Funny thing... I remember way back when we had a kicker named Booth Lustig. He missed a game winning FG and, supposedly, walked home after the game. Odd thing was, that later that evening, I actually saw him walking down a street in Amherst, in full uniform - except for his cleats, which he was carrying. I'd have never, ever believed the story if I hadn't actually seen him with my own eyes. Now Van, on the other hand... I just don't believe it.

Please stop worrying about Henry's (or anybody else's) trade value. At best, we get a draft choice. You see what we do with draft choices, especially high ones. I don't want no more stinkin draft choices. I want players that have a history of playing and want to contribute. I'd take a Rashad Baker any day over a first round choice. In the NFL, its at best a 50/50 proposition with a high draft choice and worse for a mid to low round choice. So, get me a guy that's been around awhile, even a solid journeyman and I'll give you Travis Henry. I'd say "flame away" but nobody ever responds to my posts anyhow.

I have had 10 of them done now. I had rectal cancer almost 14 years ago. I have a clean bill of health, but still need colonoscopies every 3 years for the rest of my days. Its just a CYA session. "the Bills are just fine..." "theres nothing wrong with Drew..." yada yada. Its just like last years "we just didn't execute" cop out. Bottom line is that if you believe in the Bills, as i do, then you have to expect slow growth from a team that is not as talented as we always want it to be, and that flat out has no idea how to win. IMO, Mullarkey can get the job done. It will just take some time.
