The Mizzou/Yale/PC/Free Speech Topic
unbillievable replied to FireChan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Gen Y are generally called "Millennials", while Gen Z are "Zombies." Why is Gen X the only group keeping their placeholder letter? -

Before 1975 is considered Gen X. You can't choose. You're stuck in the same group as the cast of Friends. Between 1985 and 1995 is gen Y. After 2005 is gen Z. It's only within that 10yr transitional period where you're allowed to choose in which group you identify with most. ON a related note; using fixed time periods is just dumb. There is actually a research group that is trying to pin generations by group characteristics instead. -

From what I have figured out from google... People born between 1975 and 1985 can self-identify as either Gen X or Y. People born between 1995 and 2005 can self-identify as either Gen Y or Z -

Studies are coming out that generation Z is much more conservative than anticipated in response to backlash towards Gen Y Snowflakes. -
Are they getting paid to go to the gym? I know a few companies that have their employees do exercises and have stretching breaks during the work day.

NO one has mentioned the problem with School building designs. They are built open, like.... a campus. We need to follow the lead of many 3rd world/Asian countries. They should look like prisons. -

Okoye, the second most on-screen character in Black Panther, is Bi-sexual. -
It's a more serious movie, but the focus is on introducing A LOT of new characters and show-casing Wakanda. There were a few funny scenes and dialogue but sometimes those felt out of place. These characters aren't the type to deliver one-liners, with the exception of the sister, which was the most likable character. Also, the use of shaky-cam for many of the action scenes ruined them for me, even though the director stuck some great shots in there So basically you get a blur of movement, a hero-shot, then more blur. This was my biggest problem with the movie. The closest comparison would be Civil War, but with characters we've never seen before playing major roles. (plus the shaky-cam).

Saw Black Panther. It was okay; nothing special. It's was more political than funny. Maybe it tried to be more relevant than it should have been; not the super-hero escape I expected/wanted. I will say that the Villian was the most interesting character in the movie, a rarity for Marvel. With the hype, it should have been more epic.

What is better, no guns, or more guns?

I always assumed "Red Dawn" was set in an alternate universe because the kids couldn't find any guns to use against the Koreans. -

They've been force fed this notion from liberals that "a day without illegal aliens" would devastate the US Economy. So they threaten to leave.

A woman is accusing him of signing her boobs without consent... ...so she had her boobs out? Another porn star said she was raped during a PORN shoot, than he did it again when she went back to HIS apartment... ...she went back? This is like when Amy Shumar got mad at a fan for repeating one of her own jokes towards her.

It's become popular among the liberal "elite" to shame non-conformists. People are already calling out those who don't bring re-usable grocery bags, watering their lawn, not using the proper gender pronouns, man-spreading, invading a safe space.... I'm sure unsolicited straws can easily be added to the list of "criminal" acts that must be reported to authorities. It's their civic duty! So everyone was right! The hippies will destroy the world. -
When I was a kid, my brother told me that using a straw made you gay. I stopped using them. Maybe they should use my story in their campaign ads.

Is Tom Brady better than Jordan?

Here's a legitimate question. Which player can the defense get closer to without drawing a flag/foul? -

We should ask this question when Brady wins his first SuperBowl without cheating. -
Upcoming 6 Part Miniseries about Waco Incident

I hope they elaborate on how a UPS guy was able to identify grenades in a package he was delivering. (1990's) I thought it was illegal to open mail. What a cult leader does with his wives and children in the privacy of their bedroom(s) is no one's business! -

Supergirl, Gambit, and Zod are in this movie... Interesting that they are going with the "bad" cops vs misunderstood cult leader approach.
