Who Do The Democrats Run in 2024?
unbillievable replied to Irv's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
They're going to stick Biden back in his basement. This time, He will get 150million votes. The last election was the trial run... -
AI will save entertainment. It will no longer take 200mil dollars to make a movie. The average fan will be able to make shows that the average fan wants to watch.

The average student loan debt is $28k. (bachelors) and $40k overall. The average car loan is $26k (used) and $40k (new). Looks pretty close... So why are students loans considered a national crisis that will ruin a person's life through crushing debt that they can never hope to repay, ... ...but a car loan can be paid off in 4 to 6 years, with new loans being taken again and again every decade?

Giants and Barkley do not reach an agreement on a new contract
unbillievable replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Runningbacks are becoming ever more worthless. Why is Hines getting $6mil/yr? -
I heard a conspiracy theory that Far-Right Christian Extremists spent $100 million buying up tickets to this movie. That's why they don't need A/C or dimmed lights because no one is actually sitting in the theater. Also, Isn't it suspicious that there are two threads on this movie!? Which one is the real one?

10mil/yr when he signs the tag. Still a 3mil/yr raise from last year. Josh Jacobs also didn't get a deal done in time. -
Giants and Barkley do not reach an agreement on a new contract
unbillievable replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Barkley's demand was not unreasonable. He wanted the same salary as Christian McCaffrey, with Kamara 15mil/yr ballpark behind him. The Giants offered top 5 RB Money. The same as Henry, Cook, and Chubb. New contracts for runningbacks don't set the market? -
Non-monetary perks against the Salary Cap.
unbillievable replied to unbillievable's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm reading the article cited in this thread. Some teams travel better than others. The player mentioned that some seats turn into beds, while most just recline a few inches. Yes, they are probably still better than the seats we riff-raff are forced to endure. Human nature still applies. Culture also means how a player is treated. If an owner treats the players like VIP's rather than employees, It can sway Free Agents to sign and those under contract to give home-team discounts. -
Non-monetary perks against the Salary Cap.

Imagine a team chartering a space plane from Elon Musk, then getting to London (or Tokyo) in an hour while their opponent takes 12 hrs. Also some teams have private chefs that provide specific meals for every player. -
Non-monetary perks against the Salary Cap.
unbillievable replied to unbillievable's topic in The Stadium Wall
If a team provides a perk for all players, then it's not counted against the salary cap. I'm surprised this hasn't been exploited by the richer team owners. I wonder if there is a handshake agreement among the clubs to not embarrass the cheaper owners. Paying for first class seats, especially for the big fellas, on road trips, should be an obvious perk, but that article says they still make players sit in economy. -
How do team perks affect the salary Cap? I tried to look it up and couldn't find anything. For example: If a team provides free food, trainers, gyms, limo service, private jets, massage therapists, babysitters.... Will the costs count against the team's salary cap? If it doesn't, Why don't teams provide these perks to help players perform better? or attract Free Agents? I remember Dez Bryant getting assigned a chaperone by Dallas, was that charged to his salary?

Washington Commanders may have to change their name again
unbillievable replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's offensive to sunburned fat people. We can't even get every Dentist to recommend a single brand of toothpaste. Reddit told me that Washington was a slave owner. -
Another player who said he wanted to play for a contender, then signed for the paycheck.

If You Could Pick Any RB to Line Up Behind Josh
unbillievable replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
OJ Simpson, Earl Campbell, Jim Brown, Marshal Faulk, and Bo Jackson were selfish. Marshawn Lynch proved that he would have probably ended his career in jail or suspended if he had stayed in Buffalo. The only process guy I can see that would fit this team with Josh Allen is Barry Sanders. Thurman and Freddie works too, but Barry was better than both. play them in a blizzard. -
2nd round pick worth 510points x 3 is 1530 points. The 6 overall is 1600, which is pretty close. Also, the chart is more like a guideline, and not a rule. It hasn't been strictly followed for at least a decade. Costner actually screwed his team with all the moves. He traded three 2nd rounders for a RB and punt returner.
-
The point of the movie was that Costner was ignoring the trade value chart and "going rogue".

GOAT debate related to era Montana vs Brady
unbillievable replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
Instead of comparing him to Joe Montana, we should be asking how Brady measures up to Barry Bonds and Lance Armstrong. -

If you take away the years when he cheated, Brady only had 1 season that wasn't awful. -
GOAT debate related to era Montana vs Brady

Montana won 3 superbowls. I'll give Brady credit for 1 non * win. He's hands down the greatest cheater of all time. -
The Bills will go from two 3rd round RB's in Singletary and Moss to having two 2nd round RB's in Cook and Charbonett.
