You said whoever has the most money in their campaign would win. Then we pointed out some people with a lot of money that lost. You rationalized that point by saying they lost because the party leaders couldn't sell them to the public. You rationalized that point further by saying that the media coverage is the one influencing the party's response. Now you're saying that they're working on preventing money from campaigns from taking control of media. ...campaigns run by candidates who raised the most money. and we've gone full circle. Money buys media. media influences party. party backs candidates. candidates (through donations) control the money.

Trump Alone at the Top
unbillievable replied to Gene Frenkle's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
A liberal I talked to made a very good point about that, since it goes to the general fund and is not a "bank" to store future payments, it's really pointless to separate it. He explained it like a cable bill. Comcast likes to point to their 99$ tv package, but tacks on smaller charges until it's 150$. The government is doing the same. Instead of the sticker shock of a $100 tax on your $500paycheck, they itemize them into 3 piles of 50$, 25$, 25$, then scream at your too low 10%tax rate; Despite the whole thing going into the same pile. the SS and Medicare category is just the minimum amount you have to loan the government per paycheck. Imagine if they added a category for Defense, Welfare, TSA, NSA, Fema... etc. Then at the end added a %1 payroll tax. Would people feel better about it? -

Most transparent administration in history. They're not trying to hide their bias. -
A week? Whoever gave me this flu needs to be put on a terrorist watch list.

So i bought some cheap taco bell food and a bottle of tobasco. The bottle is empty and it tasted like eating watery lettuce. Did experience a slight gag reflex which means my system still knows it, even if my brain doesn't. How long is this torture going to last? ...at least the Nyquil isn't disgusting. Like sticky water.

March Movies: Batman V. Superman, 10 Cloverfield Lane...

Too bad they can't just sell the rights back if it flops. Despite being the foundation of the franchise, Batman ruined the universe. Trying to hammer that tone and style to fit other characters is a mistake. B v S (in the comics) was epic because it contrasted the ultra light Superman, with the deeply dark Batman. If they're both goth, it sucks. Unlike others, the only film I still have high hopes for is Wonder Woman. Modernizing her actually fits. I expect Suicide Squad to be average and Aquaman to bomb worse than Fantastic Four. (has anyone ever like Mamoa in anything?) -
It will never happen.... that's what they always say, but what would our grandfathers think about: Gun free zones Happy meal bans Soda size maximums Gay marriages Polygamy is next Pedophiles are on deck Marrying pets and objects already suing. Gender equality and identity is a mess. Forcing churches to perform ceremonies against their beliefs. Marijuana is legal Amnesty Cuba Healthcare Safe spaces PC Culture The President refusing to enforce laws. ...yeah, we'll trust you this one time. The next step will always be up for debate. Give up one right, the next is on the chopping block. Liberalism works in steps. Just look at Colleges. What the last generation thinks is ridiculous, will be what the next generation finds normal; because they haven't seen the alternative. Look at socialism; most of us have seen it destroy countries, but the Millennials only know about Scandavia. Don't say "Black," it's offensive..... let's include "illegal" to that list... now let's try "bossy".... "monday?" So how is Trump winning? And why was Bush out early? Why is Sanders losing?

I've been sick all week. The last few days, I've been unable to smell or taste anything... and it's driving me crazy. Last night, out of frustration, I ordered extremely hot wings and orange soda. To preface this, I can't stand hot food. I don't even like hot bbq sauce. I just wanted to taste something. As it turns out, I couldn't taste any of it. The wings only provided a mild burning (like mouthwash) and vague sourness. The orange soda was like sticky carbonated water. In conclusion, I am currently immune to toxic foods. I can probably down a few ghost peppers and break the Guiness World record.

First thing I thought too. She's a media major and he's in a band. Figures that she would be the terrible actress. -

If nothing happens, it would still be "up to" twice the previous prediction. I think I'm starting to understand how "settled" science work. I predict that the Bills will win up to 16 games this season. -

Why are books printed with black ink on white paper? There is no reason they can't use black paper with white ink. -
Ending the sentence with "s***" is structurally better than using "this," especially when used out of context. sith isth tish htis siht isht tihs htsi shti ihst this hsit s*** ihts thsi hsti stih itsh tshi hits sthi iths tsih hist

Batfleck, the one thing everyone hated from the beginning turns into the only thing that was good... Actually, I didn't like that they base Batman's persona on a single anomalous Frank Miller series, instead of decades of history. This Batman shoots guns and kills people- which he never does, (except for that one time...) I always get that one comic book geek who tries to justify it by saying I don't really know the comics.... It's Batman-everyone knows it. -
People are addicted to their phone

On a related note, they just told us that the sticker policy now applies to all phones, everywhere in the facility. (although I doubt they will enforce it unless they move the checkpoint to the parking lot.) All the Sneeches get stars! -

Generally, people either think it's okay or absolutely hate it. I haven't seen anyone praise Batman v Superman. The closest you'll get is "i actually liked it despite the flaws." -

Update: Guy got his job back, in exchange for dropping the discrimination lawsuit. Got a warning instead. Returned yesterday. Basically got a month of unpaid vacation. (although the "unpaid" part is still under discussion). He does have a point, since the company backtracked so fast on the termination. ...and still no sticker. -

I had a conversation with a die-hard liberal yesterday and he refuses to believe that anyone is supporting Trump. Thinks it's just a right-wing mainstream media conspiracy.
