For you Michelin fans, the rubber man has a name: Bibendum.

Word. OTOH, if you're just looking for some inexpensive tires, Costco or any discount place will do. Tire Rack allows you to select your car/color and model many different rims with different tires on them to determine the look you want. You can view the performance rating of the tires for the conditions that interest you. Good prices, experienced staff, and you can get customer feedback for installers they ship to/work with so you pick a good one. And the site does a whole lot more than what I just described.

You sure can but if 2-channel sound is important to you, I would get some kick-ass front speakers as part of that 5.1 system.

A lot of good suggestions and I'll add my .02. I am only 5 lbs over my HS graduation weight of over 30 years ago. I can attest this to a dedication to exercise and good diet that I have maintained. I am still competitive in several events and still looking at venturing into others. I have diversified my exercise activities. Though I run, I also bike, swim, and participate in many other sports (basketball, baseball, flag football, etc.). I believe the diversity helps with encompassing a number of muscles that may be missed if you focus on one activity. I also go the gym to hit the elliptical cross-trainer and weight machines. The diversity and familiarity also helps because when my knees are sore, I will hit the cross-trainer or swimming - similar for other muscles. In addition, the diversity helps limit fatigue or injury when muscles are overused. My problem has been that I do not have much free time to get to the gym or exercise. I have been able to limit my workouts to 45-60 minutes and yet obtain adequate muscle coverage. But during that time, I'm going full-tilt the entire time. But you may want to build up to that if you are just starting out. You may also want to hit a core muscle exercise class. It's great to get/keep to fortify your core muscles especially when venturing exercising other muscle groups that may be dependent on core muscle strength. I usually participate in a core exercise routine every two weeks. My diet is mostly complex carbs with just a small amout (~15 % calories) of protein. I do the 80/20 rule when eating: I eat healthy 80% of the time but 2-3 meals a week, I eat stuff I normally wouldn't. I use the Glycemic Index when evaluating which foods to eat. There is compelling evidence that a high Glycemic Index carbohydrate is associated with an increased risk of obesity. You have been given some sage advice from others - good luck with whatever you choose and stick with it.

What's NAAFA? The "National Association of American Fat Asses"? I'm too lazy to google it. -
True for me as well. eSJD - the mats I installed under the tile are not intended to heat the bathroom; just to warm the tile. The three bathrooms I installed them in are varying sizes - from 6x10 to 12x14. I also installed it under the kitchen tile as well and that area is much bigger than any of the bathrooms. They all work great. I'll have to get back to you on unit wattage.
-
Another option I did was install heated tile mats (electrical - 120v, low watt & low cost) with a digital thermostat control under the tile in all our bathrooms. I have them turn on in the morning so that when anyone gets up, the floor is warm. Obviously, this is only programmed in the cool months. However, we have our HVAC system feeding the bathroom. Can you extend the ductwork for whatever system you have for the rest of the house into the bathroom? It's a nice feature and, as someone mentioned, chicks (my wife) love it.

ImgBurn has always worked well for me. I recently tried to use W7 DVD Maker to burn a DVD of an AVI file and would lose the sound no matter how I screwed around with the advanced parameters. Used ImgBurn and it worked with no tweaking of parameters and a whole faster too.

OK, I am willing to suspend my skepticism over a number of things in this show and buy into whatever is shown for entertainment purposes but when Jack said "neucular", I had to laugh out loud.

That leads me to a ? Where I am in VA, usually there are a few days each month in the Winter when I can take the bike out for a short while. So I leave it on the center stand with a battery tender and a full tank with a little Stabil. Do you put it on jacks/stands and what do you do with the fuel/carb? And yeah, though I don't live in Batavia any longer, you're spot on about Stans. That's where I send all WNY HD enthusiasts. Reminds me of a joke. The HD and BMW cycle clubs sometimes meet near each other in Richmond. Somebody asked an HD member if it bothered them that the BMW club was meeting close by. His response, "We don't care, they spend just as much on their bikes as we do."

The Enduro term is still held onto by BMW. However, since the enduros came out, the generic terms Dual-Sport and Adventure emerged and I used one of these for folks reading this thread that may recognize that term more than Enduro. You're showing your familiarity more than your age.

Thought it might be interesting to see what people have, why they use it, etc. I'll start 2002 BMW F650GS Why I like it: ABS brakes, heated grips, dual sport, ~ 60 mpg, center stand. Someday, I would like to get an R series. I use it to commute to work when the weather co-operates. I can go back roads to work and the country ride for much of the trip, and being outdoors is a great way to start the day. I leave early so I do not encounter much traffic and I can shower at work. It has cut down considerably on my gas expense. When my kids are with me, I have to take the car but can usually use the cycle for, at least, 50% of my driving. I also will go on some trips with my wife (she also has a cycle - Honda Rebel). I only go on interstates when it's the only way I can get somewhere.

Quad ESL are my faves. Different technology:electrostatic speakers (membrane) - different than traditional moving coil. The speaker is about 2" deep. I listened to these in comparison to traditional speakers and could audibly hear a difference. I am not sure if I moved up from these that I would be able to discern much of a difference in sound. OTOH, if I were 10-15 years older I am not sure I would have been able to discern much of a difference between these and the traditional speakers I heard.

Vermont State Police cited a man after stopping him pulling a sled - with a rider in it - behind his car on Interstate 89 in Williston on Sunday. If a dad, he's in the running.

Pay attention to Scott's basics about connectivity. It'll save you grief (and added cable costs) later. I wanted to get an adequate surround sound system but have two good front speakers for music. I found a dealer that knew his sh$t but didn't charge obnoxious prices. This is his website:Blue Oasis Audio (see Products page) - there are probably local dealers in NH (hey, I was just in Hanover!) that carry similar lines (good equipment but reasonably priced). I bought my stuff in pieces rather than all at once. I am still saving for a Thorens turntable but may pick up the new Denon (see New under the site I posted above) that has a good price point. The only component I stepped up was the sub-woofer. I wanted one that had remote control for the sub depending on the type of music/surround-sound we were listening to. To answer your ? and add to what others are saying - It's tough to know depending on the dimensions/structure of your room whether you can get something you would consider adequate for your price point. As others have indicated, Paradigm has some good equipment. You may want to consider two good front speakers and see how they sound. Then add the center, sub, and rears later when you get more coin (and, if you feel you require them). Due to the dimensions of our room, we were able to use bookshelves. We brought in several CDs to the store (above link) and he switched between the different bookshelves that he offered while our music played and there was considerable difference in fullness, high end, etc. between them. We chose what sound appealed to us based on the type of music we typically play. OTOH - you probably want a SS system right away and a Best Buy or similar retailer will probably have an OK system at the price point you want and you will be very happy with it.

Volvo...does anyone here drive or driven one?
Mr Info replied to taterhill's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I've had a couple of them: 1996 965 (wagon) - picked it up new in Sweden with the Volvo European delivery option. Lots of great stories from that trip - thanks for bringing a smile to my face today. Put 212k on it and sold it. That car was solid when I sold it and I beat the crap out of it. 1998 V70 - This is more in line with what you're considering. '98 was the first year of this revised model and I liked it but it was no where near as durable as the 960. Bought it with 120k and sold it with 160k. Not many expensive issues with the car but if you need to replace the belts, etc. and are having your maintenance done at a Volvo shop, figure on some big maintenance bills. If I couldn't do the work, I knew a guy good with Volvos (he had the diagnostic equipment) and I would buy the parts on-line and he did the work. I would buy another V70 but only after having it checked thoroughly and looking at all the maintenance records. -
Have you ever been to a tailgate at a Bills' game? Though sometimes the game stinks, the fun before a game is outstanding. Joining friends and family beforehand at a Bills' tailgate, regardless of the weather, has been a whole lot of fun every time I go. And I always see something unique or different every time. It's difficult to disagree with your second paragraph if that were true for me. I am a remote long-time season ticket holder and though I only attend a few games a year, I cannot remember the last time one of those things happened to me. And I sit in the lower level not the club seats.

OK - I'm in, too. Older PF but oddly relevant. Following the path as it leads toward The darkness in the north Weary stranger's faces show their sympathy They've seen that hope before

My son and I will be there and loud. I can only make it up there for two games this year and I'm thinking it can only go up from the last one I attended (Browns) a few weeks back.

Not agreeing with the choice but they are from VA Virginia northern flying squirrel. I'll agree with someone else that if they put the squirrel in a leather jacket, etc., they might be able to come up with an OK image. The images they proposed for the Flatheads and Hushpuppies looked lame. It ended up that Flatheads also carries some negative racial overtones associated with American Indians so it was yanked. They had to do the same with Hambones which was originally proposed as another moniker. The Flying Squirrel has to be better than Diamond Duck (former Richmond Braves mascot). -

Please suggest the best ranking site for FF. I will be late for my draft on Sunday night and want to pass off my rankings to someone that will draft for me until I arrive. Thanks
