Once again the dance of frustration begins
Mr Info replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Could you send me one, too? If it's info to help me get some extra tix, I would appreciate it. I'm also working so I don't have a bunch of time to continually login or keep on dialing. Thanks. -
You don't need manners to eat this but you need to be careful. I haven't eaten it but I did try something similar, fromage l'habitant, in Corsica which had live worms in it (I can't locate a video). After we cut a piece, we just let them crawl out before we ate it. It was good...tasted like bleu cheese.

This. Those people and their village had a similar look (temple) to other Smokey attacks.

You're posting VIP packages that include the best seats, food, special parking, t-shirt, and other stuff. I believe that the promoter puts together these 'packages', not Roger Waters. And these packages may be outside his jurisdiction. Anybody on TBD work for a concert promoter? I'll defend Waters as everyone is jumping on him. Waters/Pink Floyd could have made a whole lot more $ than they did. They recently won a legal fight against EMI to not allow single downloads of their songs in order to "preserve the artistic integrity of the albums": Floyd/EMI legal wrangling Have you ever seen official Pink Floyd dolls, pillows, pet gear, trading cards, etc or their songs promoting a product? There was/is $ to be made here but they did not choose to do so. I don't have the misconception that Floyd/Waters are entirely altruistic. Waters (and any other artist for that matter) is entitled to make as much money as he can. From the interviews I have read, he has tried to limit scalping and met opposition from TM when he wanted to do this. So, some compromises were made to address both sides. I didn't even consider the VIP packages since I don't want those perks. I guess there will be people willing to pay for these as I was just notified by e-mail that he just added about 10 more shows to his fall tour.

I'm a happy drunk. -
It was me. That's some big coin. We'll see if people are willing to pay that. I got good seats through Amex and I didn't (and wouldn't) pay that kind of $. That's a tough discussion - would I rather see the money go to the artist rather than some scalper? sure - but is it necessary to set the bar so high on tix? not knowing enough about the show he will be presenting, concert overhead associated with his show, etc. makes it difficult for me to make an assessment. This is probably his last big gig and I expect his show to be top notch. I'm comfortable with what I paid. I ended up getting a preferred seat selection at a couple of shows but didn't pick them up due to the price. But if others do and are comfortable with that price, I'm sure they'll see an amazing show.

You'd think so...All I know is that I didn't get picked for preferred seats at any of the five cities I selected. There was a big disclaimer that you may not be selected no matter how many cities you registered for (five was the max). It's all a mystery as to how many were allocated to Amex, Preferred, VIP, and what will be available to the general public. Perhaps somebody in the concert biz who reads this can shed more light.

I got tix today through Amex for the show at HSBC on 10/8. I decided to go to the Jacksonville game and also catch this show the same weekend. Tix are a little pricey but they seem to be moving quickly based on some others I have spoken to and where they were able to get their seats. There might not be many seats left to offer when the Amex early purchase has finished and their lottery for Preferred Ticket subscribers starts.

Here's a Lost podcast with an extremely loyal following: Lost podcast IMO, it's a bit over the top but there are a bunch of people who enjoy the show including some on TBD who may be interested in hearing it. I listened to it while I was painting and gleaned some interesting anecdotes.

+1. You understand what's going on even without the subtitles. Arguably, the best action movie I have ever seen.

One of them was a guy with the last name of Brady.

FYI to my friends on TSW, my Dad died yesterday

Thanks for sharing. My condolences on some tough times for you. Great advice! -
Not necessarily true - see Orioles, Baltimore.
-
OK - who's the kid and why is Flocke avoiding him?
-
He's trying to cut down scalping by doing pre-sale to registered fans. You can designate up to 5 cities and if you're selected, you can purchase only 2 tickets and must pick them up at will call. It may limit the # of good seats to scalpers depending on how many seats they allocate for pre-sale but at least he's trying to do something about it.
-
He's bringing it back sans Floyd. The Floyd Wall tour lost money but technology has improved so he doesn't have to haul around the trucks for the bricks anymore. Waters' Wall tour dates 2010 His official site doesn't have dates posted yet but has relevant info.

I used to like sour cream and then I entered a 'belly buster' contest at a Muckdogs game in Batavia last summer when I traveled home. The 6th inning surprise was a 16 oz plastic cup of sour cream. I finished it by the third out but it was tough. That item knocked out 2 competitors - one ralphed and the other couldn't finish it in time. I started out well but when I got about 2/3 through, the consistency started making it unpalatable. I can eat a little bit now but I didn't want to eat any for a while. I apologize for the hijack but a few other items we had to eat: Can of kidney beans (drink liquid as well) 1/2 cup of garlic cloves covered in chocolate can of tuna (drink liquid as well - this almost got me as I made a tactical error and drank the liquid first) ice cream covered with whipped cream and anchovies veggie burger with baby food peas covering the burger

Anyone ever take a cross country trip?

Download POIs for Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives and Man vs Food to your GPS. Find what's near your route. I use it all the time when I travel and it's always been a great resource for some tasty eating. -
1st & 2nd Gen ipod touch work with Skype so Toktumi should as well.

Great idea. It will be interesting to see what becomes of this. My kids rarely speak on the phone...it's all texting - so that part of it wouldn't work for me. But, it appears it's in the works - from the linked article "You can't get or send text messages on your Line2 line. (The company says it will fix all this soon.)" Then I'd be more interested.
-
Can you send me a link where this has been documented in a reputable journal? I am not denying this may be true but I have not found any studies (epidemiological or retrospective) in journals that I search through. I have seen a correspondence in the Canadian Journal of Anesthesia (1995, 42(2), p 177) that pertained to hallucinations under anesthesia with a past history of LSD use but the author questions whether these two are correlated since it does not appear there is any data to corroborate this.

Kind of...synthesized an analogue and made it diethyl instead on dimethyl. That was long time ago....similar effects.

Can't say that I have a fave, one month it's Animals, another Meddle, another Obscured By Clouds... Anything they did together before Waters split is fine with me. Look around out there and you'll find some interesting stuff such as a Video Anthology of Pink Floyd (3 DVDs). My personal fave that took me a long time to get was the surround sound (DVD) of DSoTM (quad instead of 5:1 because that's how it was recorded back then so no center speaker). Though you may have heard it a gazillion times on other media, listening to it in this format was like a new experience. Rumor has it that Parsons was miffed when he was not asked to help with the 30th anniversary re-release so he took his copy and made it available. I have looked everywhere and spoken to Floyd Freaks throughout this world and cannot find a copy of Floyd on The Pat Boone Show. One of Syd's last 'performances' - if you want to call it that. The Live at Pompeii - Director's Cut is another good DVD that I recommend for Floyd fans. FYI - It appears Roger is going to bring the Wall again on tour, starting late this year from what I've seen. Technology has improved so he can afford to do it.
