  1. I am looking to pick up a 2007 Silverado 2500HD 4x4 diesel to be towing a 6-7k load. I selected that year because of the tranny upgrade in 2006 and the interior upgrade over the 2006 model. The Duramax/Cummins combo is solid. Has anyone put a chip in it to increase mpg? I will pre-emptively talk about the F-250 before the Ford aficionados jump on this. I might have selected the 02-03 model when their diesels were reliable but the 6.0s after this were junky. However, the single front axle was the difference breaker when compared to the Silverado. My wife will be driving this and wanted more comfort. I know Ford started making their own diesel in '11 but I don't want to spend that much for a late model. Thanks ahead for any feedback.
  2. Brilliant - you did not place an asterisk by the Pats* games and 29 (so far) copied and pasted your text without the required asterisk .
  3. I am ok with Floyd, especially if we hang "Pink" for his nickname.
  4. Thanks. I was not aware and had recently spoke with some friends about going up to catch a Midnight Ramble in Woodstock. The best to him and his family as he finishes up.
  5. Here's one example: my wife has a business and is not tech savvy. She has a Droid but will be changing to the iPhone after purchasing an iPad for her business. Her POS system is Square. She wants the same interface on whichever device she is using. After a year, she still has issues locating stuff on her Android phone. The simplicity of the UI on the iPhone is easier for her. Did I mention that she is not tech savvy?
  6. I live just north of Richmond and have had season tix for quite a while. I drive up to BWI on Sat or Sun morning and fly Southwest direct to BUF for the game and fly back Sun night. I make it for 3-4 games a year and sell, give away, or donate the others. I plan ahead which games to attend and that helps with lower prices on Southwest. My sister lives two blocks from the Ralph so that helps a bunch as well. Flying certainly is more expensive than driving but when you consider the rising cost of fuel and driving time, I can justify it. Another plus, Southwest is usually on schedule. Just another option to consider.
  7. Pretty Lights was the headline at All Good last year. Amazing light show and sampled Pink Floyd for a bit. Not trying to hijack thread but All Good is moving to Legend Valley (near Columbus) next year.
  8. State income tax: income > $17,000, tax is $720+5.75% of the amount over $17,000 VA Tax & Cost of Living calculator Sales tax is 4.5% but some localities (cities/counties) can add to this for meals, etc. Property taxes in Central VA (per $100 of assessed value) City of Richmond: $1.20 Chesterfield County: .95 Henrico County: .87 Hanover County: .81 (where I live; example for a 400,000 home is 3,240 in property taxes - compare to "$228,000 & I pay $6,800 in taxes") I like certain areas in the City of Richmond (the Fan) but I probably would not live there while raising a family unless I sent them to private school. Chesterfield is a booming area but as I mentioned earlier, I picked Ashland in Hanover County because I wanted us to be able to walk to places (Town hall, restaurants, train station, parks, stores, library, etc). I did not want to get into a car to go everywhere. That may not be important to many people so it would open up more of Central VA. Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions. Someone mentioned Charlottesville & Roanoke. Both good recommendations but C'ville can get pricy.
  9. Monique, the boys, and I will keep her in our thoughts and prayers.
  10. "Dallas Police detective C'mon Wingo..." really?? After reading this article, I had to look back at the source to make sure Onion was not involved somehow.
  11. No, we're flying back Sunday night. But we will look for you while at your lot.
  12. I am a season ticket holder in VA and I will be flying up there tomorrow. I planned this a long time ago and we always look forward to a Bills game. Yeah, the season has tanked but I will not let that get in the way of a good time. Last I checked, it looks like snow for the game - outstanding! I will not be going to the home finale against the Broncos but I sold my tix to a Bills fan from here that is going home for the holidays.
  13. Oops, sorry. I thought that was about an NFL checkers game: Draught.
  14. This may relate to your question: I tried to stream the Bills game on DTV (which I have this year) when I was in China and I received a message along the lines of "...not allowed outside of US or North America" or something like that. So, I guess it knew by my IP address where I was. However, I went to NFL network after I received that message and was allowed to stream the game through them on their trial version until I was notified that I would have to pay for it to continue watching it. So, one of the possibilities is that DTV only has streaming rights in US/NA but the NFL has streaming rights worldwide. However, that still does not indicate whether they would be able to limit streaming by US region streaming if, for example, a game was not sold out in that region.
  15. Nope...bummed but I couldn't make it up for that game. The Omaha Steak/wine sampler invite almost made me say 'f!ck it' and drive 8 hrs to get there. Your lot has been rockin' the times I have been there this year.
  16. btw Hammer, any activities (scotch sampling tour, Omaha steaks, etc.) at the lot this Sunday?
  17. I use the $15 plan and limit myself to mainly wifi use. Fortunately, I find wifi most places where I go.
  18. 113 is not a family section. That's in the upper deck end zone corner. I can only make 3-4 games a year because I am a remote season ticket holder. My wife, kids (now middle-teens), and myself always look forward going to a Bills game. We usually fly in on Sat and the food and Buff experiences the day/night before as well as the tailgate and game experience (sans the product on the field for a bunch of the last 12 years) are a blast. And any game experience (tailgate, crowd, etc.) is always slightly different. I still have family in WNY so I/we have a chance to visit with them as well. I will take your advice Buftex and stay where I am.
  19. I have been a season ticket holder for about 20 years and I can say in all honesty that I have never encountered any fights, been ralphed on, or anything similar to what is shown in this video or being discussed in this thread. Sure, I have heard a lot of profanity and seen some Bills fans ride some opposing fans but nothing that escalated into fights or a security swarm. And I have been taking my wife and kids there for years. We will be at the Fins game in two weeks. I am in sec 113 but I guess I am fortunate based on what I am reading. Maybe I will stay where I am instead of relocating.
  20. Ok, my zubaz and a white Dareus jersey. I can do that.
  21. Flying up from Richmond on Sat. I am extremely fortunate as my sister lives, literally, across the street from the Ralph. Season tix in 113. I have missed a bunch of games this year since I have been working in Asia so I am really looking forward to this game with this team. Last year's home game against the Jets was a disaster and the weather was just as bad. Early forecast looks ok.
  22. A guy I worked with has a wife and two kids and got the calling at 32 (about six years ago). He is now a priest.
  23. Here is the opening of the DSoTM Immersion box set for Floyd fanatics: . Here is where one might ask - "Why would I want to watch somebody unpack a box set?" A fair question but you get to see what you will be getting when you order it and the commentary while he unpacks the box is worth the watch. FWIW - I have heard mention of unsecured damaged disks in the DSoTM Immersion box set in Europe. If you ordered from Amazon.com, you may have 30 days to send the damaged item back or you get charged for the original and the replacement. If you receive a damaged set, you may want to wait until you receive your replacement set before you send the original set back. If both the original and the replacement set have damaged disks, you might be able to cob together one undamaged set from two damaged sets by swapping the damaged discs from one set for the undamaged discs of the other. This will prevent you from having to go through a second return and receiving a potential refund rather than a replacement. Although I am a fanatic, I am not a completist. I don't want studio outtakes/live bootlegs if it sounds like it was recorded underwater or through a 1970s walkie-talkie. I hope I don't regret this but if PF fanatics are interested, I have compiled a CD of blues only Floyd for which I was able to obtain some good masters and used Audacity to clean up (I am better with Audacity than Pro Tools). This is old 69-71 Floyd from live shows, unreleased material (Zabriskie Point), and obscure soundtracks and is only blues. PM if interested. FYI - the Immersion disk for WYWH will include more of world-famous jazz violinist Stefane Grapelli playing the cover. It is nearly inaudible in the final album mix but you can hear it "starting at 5:21..."- WYWH Wikipedia. Life got better for Dead and Floyd fans: Dead Floyd, a band out of Fort Collins, CO jams Floyd and Dead songs together at shows. You may hear Pigs (3 Diff Ones)>Scarlet Begonias>One of These Days>Uncle Johns Band.
