Anybody live near a railroad track?
Mr Info replied to RochesterRob's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I forgot to add some info to my reply after I saw the communication between @707BillsFan& @RochesterRob The town I live in has a restriction of 30 mph for all trains (Amtrak & CSX) thru the town. In addition, there is a restriction on train audio whistles/horns thru the town but unsure of the exact wording of that restriction. -
Anybody live near a railroad track?
Mr Info replied to RochesterRob's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I used to live along the tracks in a historic house in a historic town. It was an active Amtrak and CSX line. It was too noisy for me but a beautiful house and nice neighborhood. I ended up selling that house and moving two blocks away from the tracks because I really like the town. I no longer experince the noise issue but have the convenience of an Amtrak station within walking distance. -

Yep, saw this too and right in my town but my boys went to another school. On Monday I will stop where the locals go for coffee to get the scoop. I don’t recall any of this happening when I went to school. But we did have one scandal when I was attending Catholic grade school. An acquaintenance’s (year younger) mother died and his dad ended up marrying the nun who taught my friend. Yes, we all thought that Sister Mary was hot and no, I do not have any pics. -
Dead & Company Summer Tour...anyone going?
Mr Info replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Will see them the last 2 nights at the Lockn Festival at the end of August. -
This is tough for me. I went with my wife to the Indy/Snow Bowl game though I had bronchitis so my enjoyment is somewhat tainted. Great pics from that game and people still ask about it. However, I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the playoff game at Jax even though a loss. So impressive how Bills fans took over the city in the first playoff game in a generation. A lot of good memories (and pics) from Lot X. This is even though I traveled with @plenzmd1

The Warriors do not match up well with the Rockets with Iggy out. West, Pachulia, and McGee cannot switch when the Rockets pick and iso. If Iggy can play, then the Warriors have a better chance.

TaB is still available but you have to look around. I tried TaB a few times many years ago and cannot understand why someone would pay a ridiculous price to procure it now with so many better tasting alternatives. But there is much about the human race that I do not understand. Some thought the name meant Totally artificial Beverage but Snopes rebutted that. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/keeping-tab/

Possibly something from Arrested Development.

Just two fests thus far. Floydfest July 25-29 http://floydfest.com/ I will be working helping out my wife's food truck that will be there for the 5th year in a row. But we alternate so can watch bands that we want to see. She brings a crew of 6 young women to work with her so great working environment for me. Lockn Aug 23-26 http://www.locknfestival.com/ Just enjoying the music at this fest...no work. @billsfanmiami(oh) thanks for the info on the Wish You Were Here band. Looked at their schedule but not many other dates yet. If you like Floyd, a couple of other bands are The Machine (they have been doing it for 30 years) http://themachinelive.com/ and Pink Talking Fish http://www.pinktalkingfish.com/tour.html PTF also do Talking Heads and Phish

Another way for a restaurant to brand itself. There will be a certain amount of exclusivity associated with a restaurant like this. I would seek out this restaurant (also considering fare & price) if I wanted to have a quiet meal with my wife. One could select an expensive restaurant and anticipate that price will keep kids away but that is not always true. But, that’s a guarantee with this restaurant. -
This was cut from last night's SNL when time was short.

Sounds like some derivation of Parcopresis. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parcopresis Treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy.

“The report states that following the encounters, the student reached out to the teacher and asked for money to buy antibiotics.” Are the sex & antibiotics related? -
My last two prime deliveries were by private vehicles not commercial delivery companies so, in some respects, they are already moving away from commercial delivery companies.

I have not worn a watch since I was a kid. I do not see the practical need for one. My phone can tell me what time it is and alert me to appointments. I do not like wearing any kind of jewelry. From the feedback here, those who wear one appear to appreciate the aesthetics. Honestly, when I see an older person looking at their watch I think ‘luddite’ much the same as when I receive an email from an aol account.

It appears that Amazon is looking at their own delivery service. This would impact UPS, USPS, Fedex, etc. http://fortune.com/2018/02/09/amazon-delivery-service/

Well...I have tried all types of exotic tomatoes but the best have been the beefsteak types like Big Beef or the hybrids like Better Boy. But I do like the Mountain Fresh Plus for the size and flavor and I am going big on that one this year. Thank, Paul. I wish she grew them but she makes a great crepe. Her family is French so that helps. She left the corporate world to create he own crepemobile and I traveled with her to Brittany, France to join her for training on crepe making. She uses different batters for savory and sweet crepes and most places in the US use one batter for both. Crepe making is in my future when I quit my job. Sherpa - she will be at First Colony in C'ville fairly soon for an event. I know they outsource some of their wine.

My veggie garden is 2.5' x 15'. I should qualify that as I only grow tomatoes now. But I typically plant about 10 different varieties and keep track of which grow the best. The soil where we live is great for tomatoes. There is a nearby annual tomato fest. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanover_tomato I also have a small herb garden, some blueberry bushes, and a gigantic (10 foot) fig tree. I dump coffee grounds around the blueberry bushes as they like acidic soil. That seems to work well.

Just made a donation to support your effort and hope a better treatment surfaces for you. I see that many small and large pharmaceutical companies have active programs for treatments and, hopefully, a cure. It is encouraging that many are in Phase III trials. Genentech's Ocrevus was just approved on March 28 for MS and PPMS. Perhaps that will be available for you. https://www.fda.gov/newsevents/newsroom/pressannouncements/ucm549325.htm
