Duke Dubs. The Warriors & Blue Devils will both be able to coast to the playoffs and tourney respectively. With Barrett, Williamson, Reddish & the rest, Duke can only be stopped by injuries. Same for GS. Trying to be objective and not a prisoner of the moment but both teams have more talent than their competition.

I am going to recount a related incident that happened to me, my wife and kids a number of years ago. Our boys were about 1 and 3 at the time. This happened on a weekend night around 1 am when everyone was sleeping upstairs except I was reading. I heard the front door handle rattle and went downstairs to check it. Someone was outside trying to get in. I yelled to go away and that I was calling the cops and had a weapon. Actually, I had dropped my gun for maintenance just the day prior. The person moved away from the door and I called the police & reported it. A short time later, in the back of the house where it is dark, I hear someone tear off the outside screen on a window. I grab a baseball bat and run downstairs again, yelled to my wife to lock her & the boys in a room, and I go to that window and again yell to stop or else I am going to shoot. They did not know my gun was out for repair. In the meantime, my wife has called the cops again, now screaming for them to arrive. The person tries to open the window from outside and I get ready to hit a homer. Meanwhile, as I look through a side window, I can see the police pass that window coming around to the back of the house were this was happening. The window was locked so they were having problems trying to pry it open and ignoring whatever I was saying. Just then I saw the bright police spotlight shine and they yell something at the person and I can see the person run away. The police caught a neighbor 16 year old girl who had been out drinking. Our house looked very similar to her house and she was toasted & was trying to sneak in her home. If I had my gun or if the police were any later then the outcome could have been vastly different because she was determined to get in. I went over and spoke with her mom the next day to try & relay the circumstances and what could have occurred. Her mom had a ‘kids will be kids’ attitude and would not understand how close her daughter came to being an ex-daughter. This story will always remain very vivid to me and demonstrates how close I could have come to popping someone in the head with a baseball bat or shooting her if my gun had been with me. I would have felt justifed for either action but would have harbored extreme regret for what was a simple teenage drinking frolic gone completely wrong.

To each his own. I am bored with half-court isolation bball. Really enjoy watching the passing and quick game that the Warriors & similar style offenses play.

I was about 5, maybe early 6. I noticed that when my parents had family &/or friends over everyone got friendly & appeared happier when they drank these cans of stuff called beer that looked like cans of pop/soda. One day, I wanted to feel happy so I snuck one of those cans from the fridge and hid outside around the porch. I snapped open the can and took a big gulp and then immediately spit it out. I could not understand the concept of drinking that crap and it whetted my appetite for a while.

TIL The most misused SSN of all time was (078-05-1120). In 1938, wallet manufacturer the E. H. Ferree company in Lockport, New York decided to promote its product by showing how a Social Security card would fit into its wallets. A sample card, used for display purposes, was inserted in each wallet. Company Vice President and Treasurer Douglas Patterson thought it would be a clever idea to use the actual SSN of his secretary, Mrs. Hilda Schrader Whitcher. The wallet was sold by Woolworth stores and other department stores all over the country. Even though the card was only half the size of a real card, was printed all in red, and had the word "specimen" written across the face, many purchasers of the wallet adopted the SSN as their own. In the peak year of 1943, 5,755 people were using Hilda's number. SSA acted to eliminate the problem by voiding the number and publicizing that it was incorrect to use it. (Mrs. Whitcher was given a new number.) However, the number continued to be used for many years. In all, over 40,000 people reported this as their SSN. As late as 1977, 12 people were found to still be using the SSN "issued by Woolworth." https://www.ssa.gov/history/ssn/misused.html

On the drive to GB. We were high-fived and greeted by many Bills fans after landing in ORD. Good to see that many fans from various destinations at the airport.

“Locker units containing alcohol are flagged with a special bar code, says Don Dierig, Delaware North’s general manager at the Reds’ ballpark. A trained Alcohol Ambassador remains by each station and verifies the identification of any fans purchasing alcohol before their lockers will open.” From this article: https://stores.org/2018/05/01/pitch-perfect/ -

Checking...will get back to you via PM. He is a Poly Sci major but started out in sciences. Hope he is available because he has a good personality/interaction as a guide. From my perspective, VT had the best prospective student/parent presentation and tour of any university or college that we visited. -

Penn State: Visiting advice for this weekend

Scott - I spoke with a friend who is a PSU alum and rabid fan and asked about this. He said, due to this game, Fri travel to Happy Valley will be crowded by alumni spending the weekend for this big game. All day traffic on Sat leading up to game tine and the campus will be nuts if they win. Expect excess traffic on Sun leaving the area due to alumni that made it a weekend jaunt for the big game. -
Flying there from Richmond VA with my wife on Sat morning. First time @ Lambeau. Plan to hit the event at Stadium View Sports Bar for Bills fans on Sat.

I purposely picked the Pats* in the TBD Survivor Pool. Not upset at all with my loss.

Funny comment from this link. “Can we please just change the name of Bitcoin to CrimeCoin already? That's the only thing it's good for. Exactly. We could eliminate all but four coins, and use different ones for different specific purposes: - Drug Coin - Child Porn Coin - Money Laundering Coin - Ransomware Coin”

That sig might be appropriate if working for the SPCA or similar org but would not be permitted in companies where I have worked.

Isn’t that what you just predicted? -
The Reactions at the end of the article are worth the link. “they will sell the cars at a loss but make it up on the extension cords. "But comrade, we said it was electric, not battery powered"”

Hard Knocks 2018: The Cleveland Browns

I recall the narrator saying something similar to them ‘rising’. That has not happened yet though the bar is very low. Until they win 1 game, that ‘rise’ hasn’t begun. -
Just poured myself a nice cocktail. i called Directv tonight. My contract was due to expire in 2 days. Background: longtime AT&T mobile customer with 5 devices on a 20G family plan & longtime Directv customer. i explained my contract was expiring and wanted to see what was available for discounts. I also said I was a longtime AT&T mobile customer. I did not escalate to loyalty/retention. This is what I got: They are combining me into one bill. AT&T mobile: Unlimited plan for $25 less than my current plan. Directv: $60 discount for 1 year and Sunday Ticket for free. Combining both in one bill gets me HBO Premium for free. That does not expire until I leave AT&T It took about 30 minutes and was on hold a good deal as he investigated what was available and looked at both of my accounts. I asked for his supervisor after we were finished and complimented on how good he was with customer service. Last time I called I got a jerk but jackpot this time. Now back to enjoying my drink.
