  1. That’s odd. Just received my email that single game tix for STHs start May 13 at 12:00.
  2. Now, that’s hilarious.
  3. Even though you cannot go for a stadium tour, you can still stop by and check it out and go to the Bills Store at the Stadium. Just look up store days & hours open. After that, you can stop at O’Neill’s across the street from the stadium for something to eat & drink. Just imagine this place jam packed after a win with fans going wild and tumbling off the deck.
  4. Medtronic is using the Guardian sensors for the 670 & 770 pumps.
  5. I like Tandem but the Medtronic 770g is also a nice closed loop system. It now communicates with mobile devices which the 670g did not.
  6. Imo, Dexcom is the best CGM. Operates with mobile phones, tracking software, good alert notification. Their next CGM will be developed with Google Health.
  7. I suspect I am in the minority but consider Tesla if they are in your price range. I had an outstanding purchase & delivery experience and have not had as much enjoyment driving a car. If Tesla is out of your budget, maybe another EV? If you can wait a bit, there may be rebate incentives forthcoming for EVs that may place some of them comparable in cost to ICE vehicles. There are very low maintenance expenses for EVs. Also, plenty of free chargers around. The only time I pay for charging/miles is when I am on long trips & using superchargers.
  8. This is true but ‘damage other body organs’ exceeds the definition of a side effect.
  9. I am interested in any evidence of this. Would you post the links where this is substantiated? This would be for the sulfonylureas, SGLT2 inhibitors, or other oral medicines for type 2. There are also inhalers for type 2...does your statement also include those?
  10. It may not be that simple regarding the flu and that analogy may not be comparable. The seasonal influenza (flu) vaccine is designed by the CDC to protect against the three or four influenza viruses that research indicates are most likely to spread and cause illness among people during the upcoming flu season. The viruses selected may be accurate...or not. The C19 vaccines were developed specifically for that virus. I was neg for any C19 test yet I had a mild side effect (slight fever) after the 2nd shot. But that is somewhat common & understood why that occurs. But my perspective is similar to why I receive the annual flu shot. I would rather be protected (with possible minor side effects) than have the virus where more serious or lengthy consequences may occur.
  11. Was the physician’s opinion that getting C19 again (e.g., 3rd time via another strain) would be preferable to a vaccine? Or was this an educated opinion that having C19 twice (and subsequent antibodies) would most likely protect against another C19 infection?
  12. Very surprised that people would be unaware. Should have left the ‘ad nauseam’ out.
  13. This has been discussed ad naseum here and elsewhere. The antibodies produced by your body due to C19 infection may be short-lived. There is good science behind the recommendation for those previously infected to receive the vaccine. I am unaware of any serious side effects from the mRNA or J&J vaccines and not including the AZ vaccine. Post the evidence you have for any serious side effects. Minor side effects are well known and over within 24-48 hrs.
  14. On vacation in Kauai right now. We both were able to get vaccinated early but not because we met the initial age criteria. But that’s a topic for another thread. Early planning for Europe in the fall but waiting for vaccine passport info.
  15. I have quite a lot of background and experience in this area. However, your statement makes me reticent to offer anything. It is unfortunate you have had experiences which led to this assessment. There are plenty good physicians but it is the patient’s responsibility to evaluate the doctor & services provided. It appears an endocrinologist would be your best resource. Perhaps consider one at a nearby university hospital. Most likely, they would have encountered a more disparate patient population that would assist in their diagnosis & treatment. Good luck.
  16. Nah, that’s for the new, regional airport.
  17. They are already in the picture. There is a PSL fee on my current club seats.
  18. That may not have been true toward the end. https://www.google.com/amp/s/pagesix.com/2019/11/07/cars-singer-ric-ocasek-cuts-supermodel-wife-paulina-porizkova-out-of-will/amp/
  19. Yes, I was able to do that scheduling through CVS. You may even be able to use CVS for the 2nd shot even if they did not administer the 1st one. I just looked in CVS and CA is nearly booked but North LV in NV is available. https://www.cvs.com/immunizations/covid-19-vaccine note: I could not re-schedule on CVS more than 2 weeks in advance of my 2nd shot.
  20. Upthread I spoke about my vaccine. A day after the second vaccine, I did not feel well and found I had a fever of 99.5. Went to bed and felt fine with no fever the next day. Found this explanation in NEXSTAR: ‘It’s widely known that the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccines tend to come with more side effects than the first, including tiredness, headaches, chills, fever, nausea and muscle pain. Why is that? According to Dr. William B. Greenough III, a professor emeritus at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine who’s known for his work on cholera, there’s a simple explanation for the increase in side effects. With the first dose, your body begins building its initial immune response, including producing antibodies. But with the second shot — a.k.a. the second exposure to the virus — “the big guns” of your immune system react. “Once your immune system recognizes the virus [after the second dose], it’s going to have a greater reaction to it,” Greenough said.‘ https://www.wfla.com/community/health/coronavirus/why-does-the-second-covid-vaccine-shot-have-more-side-effects-than-the-first/
  21. Yep, I qualified for vaccine in TX for two reasons: they were vaccinating my age range and allowed out of state residents. I went through CVS and scheduled 1st shot at a pharmacy in TX near Dallas. DFW is easy to fly to from anywhere. I just got my 2nd yesterday in Ashland VA. The Chickahominy Health District set up a mass vaccination site at a closed Food Lion near us. I just went over there, showed my card, and they hooked me up for the second shot. They are doing Moderna which matched with my first CVS shot.
  22. Actually, Kauai is rescinding their extra travel restrictions because all of their residents have been vaccinated. Kauai will follow the general Hawaii guidelines effective April 5. We arrive April 7 so that works out great.
  23. I was too young in my state (VA) to qualify. So, I searched CVS states and TX allowed my age range & out of state residents. The only state that met that criteria at the end of Feb. Found a CVS outside of Dallas taking appts. Got an inexpensive flight to DFW from RIC in the morning, got the vaccine, headed back to the airport and was back to VA late that afternoon. Because CVS is national, I was able to reschedule my 2nd vaccine for this Monday (22 Mar) at a CVS near me. It was important to me to be vaccinated. We are headed to Kauai in 2 weeks.
  24. You may like ‘Legion of Mary’ a short-lived band with Garcia, Saunders, Kahn, Tutt and Fierro (sax/flute). Search youtube for shows. LoM was my favorite rendition of a Garcia band. Cannot locate the link but interesting side note that a bunch of nuns belonging to the ‘Legion of Mary’ Catholic group mistakenly showed up at a SF show and had a great time.
  25. NFL opener guaranteed: Bucs vs Cowboys
