Bills Have a Standing Offer for LB Preston Brown

I hope it's only 1-2 years and they draft a franchise mlb -
Bill's Updated Cap 03-15-18
JerseyBills replied to Jamie Muellers Ghost's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
MLB is a huge, important hole. I think they fell in love with one in the draft. A guy they feel can step in day 1 and start like The White did as the #1 cb. Our DE rotation is nasty. People forget Lorax will be playing a lot of DE on passing downs! He ended the season very impressively, think McD and Co realized how to get the most out of him towards the end of the year -
I Guess The Market Is Dry For EJ and Preston Brown
JerseyBills replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Would love to have EJ back. Davis and White can play slot. Awesome trio. -
Tyrod named starting QB of Browns
JerseyBills replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll get flamed for this but if they have a scheme that showcases his strengths, read options,. Single read routes, that's not going to be a walk in the park. He has a winning record with sub par WR and thrived under Roman/Lynn, the defense was just atrocious. I know he's an awful passer and not a fit here but he can definitely be a dangerous QB . Especially if they have a good running game. Landry will be the best WR he has played with. At the least, I'm intrigued what Hue has planned for Tyrod and can definitely see it equating to success, -
Bills Mafia and the exposure the city and team got after breaking the drought, players able to see how passionate this fan base is and if you ball out your God Like in WNY, has made Buffalo a much more desirable location. Guys see the winning culture being built , it's almost a college atmosphere and I think guys want to experience it. Awesome job to all the fans.

Yes but QB play is declining. Good QB play with a very good D and run game can defeat elite qbs. How many playoff games has Stafford won? Brady,Rodgers, Brees and Big Been are all getting up there in age.
-
More complete than last year, where we went 9-7 with atrocious QB play. Rather get Foles for a 2nd and 65 and use two firsts and a 2nd to add top end talent to a 9 win team
-
And another poster that thinks franchise qbs equate to consistent winning. How's that worked for the Bucs and Jameis Winston and his 18-27 playoff less career? Mariota and his 20-22 record. Derek Carr and his 28-34 career record? You got your Andy Daltons, Philip Rivers, Joe Flacco, list goes on. Point is besides Flacco, these qbs never made it anywhere in the playoffs. We saw Keenum Foles and Bortles have their teams within one game of a Super Bowl. The game is changing, great defenses , great overall teams are trumping great qbs, because the golden age of qbs is over There are less and less franchise qbs. If you have a guy that fits your scheme, you can easily win with a great overall team until you get a Franchise an. It's all about W's.. Winston, Mariota ,Carr , all way higher touted than any QB coming out this year, 66 -83 . Zero playoff wins. Tyrod Taylor, clearly not a better QB, had a better record and the same amount of playoff appearances in his first 3 seasons Winston Carr and Marcus! Hard to argue that. Pure Facts

Lol .. typo error But Treadmill could actually work , that WR is running but getting nowhere fast if Treadmill White is trailing him. Kid stays on that WR hip like very few CBS do and he did so as a #1 cb rookie!. I tried lol

Right but I don't see any of these guys with Franchise QB written on them. Mccarron has probably just as much upside. I see 2011 and 12 qbs here. The first rounders we're Locker,Gabbert,Ponder ,RG3,Tannehil,Weeden. Cam n Luck are the outliers but both were expected to be legit franchise guys. Cousins was a 4th rder in 12 No QB in this class has that franchise QB stamp. Why waste draft capital on a huge question mark when we can let a QB fall to us and have the same chance.
-
And who do you foresee this trade up being for? And why is it worth missing out on a Treadmill White or Dion Dawkins? No sarcasm, genuinely interested in your opinion,as stated I am not a well informed college guy like many on here
-
Mccarron imo is no worse than any rookie we'd get. I think QB could be in play, I just doubt a trade up is in play.

Wait a second...What About Shaq Lawson????
JerseyBills replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Shaq isn't going anywhere. They rotate DEs and he is a beast in the run game. Just no need imo to trade him, he still has a ton of potential and high ceiling, worse case , he's a run stopping specialist, best case he turns into a complete DE and we can keep him Murphy and Hughes fresh. -
I hope not. I'm hearing 7 mil a year. I just don't see him being worth it. He gets exposed to much in pass game. Good. I don't know nearly as much as most on here about cfb players. Any 43 mlb fit the scheme and is a McD guy? Is there a can't miss 43 mlb out there? I feel this is top priority now that Star and Murphy signed on the DL.
-
5 picks in top 65 is priceless though. Will put their stamp on this roster
-
I said this yesterday, but I feel the Bills have their eyes on a rookie mlb. The QB of the defense for the next 5+ years. I think that solidifies and greatly improved the defense , which should be muchhhh better now that the Bean/McD stamp is on it. I'm not a college guy by any means, but is there a top 10 mlb or 2 that projects to be a stud at the NFL level? Again, I think a rookie QB is in play, but not one of the big 4-5 , unless they slide to 12. Using this draft capital will further put their stamp on the roster and feel they really like one. Witha RB , possibly 2 and 3-4 QB coming off the board, we will have the luxury of picking up a stud at 12 and 22 for that matter. Loving these low profile, high ceiling moves so far, have complete confidence in this staff and trust they have a clear vision and are following that formula. QB is top priority but on the defensive side of the ball .
-
I really anticipate him having a Hyde / Poyer impact .
-
3 yr 30 mil He's a player though. One of those guys you have to follow that team to appreciate. Redskins are not happy losing him
-
For this staff to throw him that much money means they expect a Poyer/Hyde impact and a compliment to Hughes , who was dearly missing another DE who could get pressure
-
I completely disagree.. Franchise QBs are overrated imo. Especially on here. Keenum, Foles, Bottles and Brady were the starters for the Championship games! The common theme with those teams? Complete team's. Talented players at multiple positions is more important than a franchise QB! The top 5 (not counting Jimmy G) salary cap hits for next season at the QB position didn't even make the playoffs in 2017!! The game is changing. We have the best staff we've had in ages. Grab a Keenum or Foles, collect 5 top 60 prospects, continue to make solid FA moves and we're a potential 10+ win team year in n out.

What if the trade up to #12 is just a ruse?
JerseyBills replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree for sure. Beane consistently says he is building for longevity a consistent winning team . He also consistently said you win and build this perennial playoff team by BUILDING THROUGH THE DRAFT! He has a ton of draft capital in a very deeply talented class . A.) I could see him moving 22 back 6-7 slots and grab an additional 2nd! Something like- 12,28, 53,56,59,65 and 96.. 7 shots at top 100 prospects OR B.) Move up to grab a questionable QB with a high pick and something like picks 56 and 96, 3 chances at top 100 talent with our top pick being a total question mark.. I think Beane likes option A much more They'd want pick 53 or 56 as well. -
No Gabbert was 2011, the 10th pick, and it was with Cam , sorry, I mixed up Cam and Luck.. Gabbert, Locker and Ponder were all viewed as franchise potential qbs , similarly to these current qbs. Let's look at 2012. The Suck for Luck Colts snatch him at 1. Followed by RG3 at 2, Tannehil at 8 and Weeden at 22. Two of those guys are out of the league. Tannehill is basically equivalent to Tyrod and Luck is a stud, like everyone knew he would.. That's just how I view this crop of QBs, feel 1 might be a stud , 1 might be serviceable, possibly a late round surprise and the rest busts. I'd keep all draft capital. If they are high on a particular QB then pull the trigger at 12 or 22, but don't give up picks, add 5 top 60 prospects to this roster and build a TEAM that CONSISTENTLY WINS. Longevity and consistentcy are Something Beane consistently brings up... This is the draft to collect a ton of talent and winners and keep establishing a team identity .
-
I'll pass. I see 2011, Jake Locker. Gabbert and Ponder. Obviously Luck was the first pick but the world knew he'd be special. I just don't share this mentality, essentially getting a QB just to get one , especially with this group . Use the draft capital to build this team, get a dominant QB of the Defense in the draft, get a Bradford,Foles, Keenum, etc for the O.

Bills interested in Malcolm Butler, Aaron Colvin?
JerseyBills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love the approach. Build on the already elite secondary and make it the best in the league. Colvin imo is very very underrated and a very good cb. I believe he can play inside. Butler would be awesome . Gaines availability issues concern me for a long term deal.
