Classy act from a young kid. This kid had a disasterous rookie year and then the incident in the summer , jokes coming from all directions. His career could have went left. But instead of quitting and folding , he comes back his sophomore campaign clearly improved in many areas of his game. Big salute to Zay for getting through the adversity and showing why we moved up for him .

Looks like we have some building blocks on offense!
JerseyBills replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First off, The Jets invested heavily in their secondary this off-season and added some big names to a unit with some young studs. Going into yesterday their passing defense was 10th in ints. 13th in yards and 13th in passing TD. Above average. Their defense on a whole was 15th in points and 13th in yards. Slightly above average. And they were HOME. So your cupcake comments are ridiculous. Did you watch Shady with an actual passing game? He looks like he might have gained a step! That spin was just amazing. Why so negative? There is 6 more games left . These guys are young , some need more time than others. Just pointing out these young guys played very well against an above average D, on the ROAD. -
Everybody and their mother knows the O will likely go through an overhaul this off-season, with nearly 90 mil to play with and a fantastic defense that doesn't need much , they can focus on OL , WR/TE and backup QB. Allen , Shady , Zay and Dawkins looked like the only locks to be starting next year. If Foster can be consistent , looks like we got our deep threat and at the very Least , a depth WR we can rely on for the future. He missed a cpl bombs by Allen earlier in the year, so the staff knew he had the potential. Looks like he's been working hard at his game and looked much improved today. Wonderful sign I noticed Zays improvement in September. He wasn't getting many touches, but I instantly noticed improved route running ability, awareness and his case of the yips seems to have passed. He has legit #2 WR written all over him and if he can continue to improve can be a real asset going forward . So it'd be great to have two young WR we feel confident in going forward and gives us more flexibility in FA and the draft. Great sign for both today , adding a glimmer of hope to what has been a disasterous group. Zays route running is really becoming a strength of his and has been impressive to watch all year. Then we got Teller , who I assume will start the rest of the year. He looked great to me today. The whole OL played fantastic as a whole but alot of the big runs looked like they came on his side , as he looked to be mauling defenders . I'm not going to proclaim anything after one start, but Teller looked super impressive and it'd be awesome if he continues to play at a high level, as that'd shore up the left side of the line for a couple years minimum and take a need off the board. He looks like he has very high potential , he's massive and agile and plays fierce, I think him and Dawkins will be on that left side for a long time. It was just refreshing and encouraging to see 2 rookies play at a very high level in their longest action of the year, on the road, against a pretty good defense. If these 3 can consistently play like this is (I personally think Zay has proven all year he could, just never got touches), it just gives us much more flexibility in a big time off season for the Bills.

We took over Jets stadium today
JerseyBills replied to Rebel101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I usually go every year to see my Bills. They're usually civil for the most part and I'm also with Jet fans in my group when I go. Fans were talking friendly smack during the tailgate , ironic how much they talked about how awful our O was. They were a little rowdy pre game , cracking BBills jokes , i laugh em off and tell them we'll be contenders next year. By the 2nd quarter , they were more rowdy, but the talk was mostly aimed at their Jests and mainly Bowles and I was Loving the Boos, which started in the first qtr. By the time we left , many ppl were way gone and the ones who stayed we're drinking their pain away , cursing up a storm about the dysfunction with the coaching staff and front office. The knowledgeable Jet fans showed heavy respect for McBeane. They thought McD was the Real deal and almost seemed jealous about the last 2 drafts , conceding that we have way more young talent and potential than they do. Good times , I imagined today going wayyyy differently, turned out to be one of my favorite Bills/Jets game at MetLife Yeah u really missed out but I understand. I am surprised I went actually but it was wellllll worth it. One of my favorite experiences at MetLife. Probably cause my expectations were so low -

Yes we did!!!! I was with 5 ppl. 3 Jet fans , a Cowgirl fan and obviously me being only Bills fan. They demanded we leave with like 5 min to go in 3rd . For reference, I live in North Jersey , by NYC and about 15 minutes from MetLife stadium. So it's very rare to see BILLS fans here. Jet fans were embarrassed , emotional and just demoralized. I LOVED IT!!!?? Todd "Flushed Down The" Bowles is likely done and it's very satisfying that we put the nail in his coffin! I almost didn't go. Ended up having a blast!!! -
Week 10 Bills @ Jets first half thread

He's look much improved all year. Route running and catching is a huge upgrade over last year. Great that he'll be apart of the future at WR. -

I been screaming this. Let them revamp the O in the off-season and the D will dominate with our O not consistently going 3 n out and them playing with a lead. The D is elite, can be special with a competent O. The majority of the defense will be together for the next few years and able to grow together -
Who has the best stadium in the NFL?
JerseyBills replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love our stadium. Just wait til we're good and get them prime time games in Nov/Dec. The atmosphere is just awesome , just watching on TV , it looks cooler than these new age stadiums. I wouldn't mind one bit if they don't build a new one for a while .. For example. I go to MetLife alot, the experience is completely different. You feel more connected to fellow fans and the game at Buffalo stadium. MetLife is beautiful , but just purely atmosphere and advantage, I love New Era -
Bills claim WR Isaac McKittrick from Seahawks
JerseyBills replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Me too! I thought he'd be used much more, especially as an option that can really do it all , screens , end arounds , etc.. He's a rookie though and I'm sure he'll be incorporated more in the O next year as him and Allen gain some chemistry...... At the same time, no WR is doing anything really , I do think Zay has improved nicely , despite his #s, his route running and catching ability has definitely improved, just not many opportunities for any WR. -

I like the move. Allen and him will have a few games together to see if he's worth keeping around. Going into next year I just see Zay and Ray Ray staying on as WR , so i like that they're making an attempt at least on a guy with potential. -
McDermott isn't going anywhere....
JerseyBills replied to TwistofFate's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm leaning towards this as well. We have the luxury to build an O around Allen and Daboll . Go all in with that. Also it'd be good for Allen to have that sustainability at OC and just like you mentioned about teams taking a big step forward in year 2 on offense , same with a rookie QB heading to year 2. No pre draft process , which is pretty brutal and requires a great amount of time and energy getting ready for the draft .. Allen will be able to strictly focus on his O and develop chemistry , master the playbook, etc...I anticipate all 4 first rders to make a big leap, they're all struggling at the moment. And you even see them regress a bit as teams have more tape on them. -
McDermott isn't going anywhere....
JerseyBills replied to TwistofFate's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. I completely agree , they had a vision for long term , sustainable success and sacrificed this year (and last) to accomplish it. When you have the most dead money by 15$ million compared to the next team, you expect to struggle. The great news is they have their foundation in place, great defensive core , they got their QB and will have a ton of flexibility in FA , with a ton of cap space and likely a top 5 pick! Hang tough Bills Mafia, we'll be legit contenders next year and years to come. I'm a big McD and Beane fan , trust the process , we'll be grateful for this brutal year in the long run. -
I disagree. Number 1. , Allen will likely be the starter and I'm confident we address the backup spot. Besides Allen , Dawkins,Teller , Shady , Murphy ,Zay ,Ray Ray and Croom , no one on O is safe, including Daboll. You can say the same thing about Cleveland last year . Yet they added probably the top WR FA in Landry . Money talks with these guys . Obviously the player needs to buy in but we have the luxury to totally overhaul this debacle on offense and target specific players to build around Allen. Will we pay a little more than a different team? Possibly. But if it is a high end talent like Tate or Cobb , they'll sit with Bills brass and discuss the changes and direction of the O , and we also have a phenomenal D they'll be playing with.

Dead money in 2018 - Bills - $55,823,196... The next closest team has 15 million less in Dead Money , the Giants at 40 mil, followed by the Cards at 34 mil... What does this tell me ? It's extremely hard to win in this league , and nearly impossible when you have the most dead money on ur roster. This was done intentionally by Buffalo as they gutted a roster they didn't believe was qualified for long term success. Then we look at active cap spending for 2018 , the Bills current roster comes in dead last at 124 million. Next is the Giants , at 131 million , followed by Indy at 134.5 million and the Cards at 137 million... Every other team has over 20 million more in active cap spending than the Bills. Just for some perspective, the Jags have the most expensive active cap spending at 187 million! They have a roster worth 63 million more dollars than Buffalo. Bet they're loving that Dareus contract. What do But , Arizona and the NYG have in common besides a boatload of dead $ , and Indy in active roster spending, is that they all have losing records and are likely done this year. Again, it's hard enough to win on a level playing field , but Bills brass sacrificed this cap space , knew they'd be extremely limited in upgrading the roster in FA but I LOVE that they stuck to their guns and followed their vision and plan. Approximately 53 mil of the dead cap goes away this off season and we'll at Least be able to spend as much as any other team next year and not have such a HUGE discrepancy in active cap spending. They've drafted very well the last 2 years , and feel they built a foundation they are confident in and will be able to build on that foundation this upcoming off season So the point of this is , I feel calling for their heads is unwarranted until they see this thing through til next year and if they are anywhere near as bad , they deserve the ax, but lets give them their 3rd year at least, they rebuilt the roster and I think we'll see a whole different product on the field next year.

They didn't win a game with him! Allen was 2-2 , very well could have been 3-2 with no injury. -
Exactly. I keep bringing up the dead money this year which we have the most , by a large margin, the front office knew it'd make winning 10000x harder, but did it for the greater good of the long term success of the team. Next year is year 1 of when we should become legit contenders. They'll have a fantastic defense next year and a totally rebuilt , talent upgraded offense. I think Teller , Miller , Ray Ray and Croom will also be apart of the O. They have the opportunity and luxury to build an offense specifically for Josh Allen. When you look at the big picture , things are nowhere near as doom and gloom as ppl say , yes , this year is a dumpster fire but like you said, we'll have a totally different offense next year with ALOT of FA $ and likely top 5 pick . Relax guys.

I agree with that 100%. But imo it's the most Important stat for a QB. I don't care how he does it , I just want the QB that can consistently put up winning seasons. -

He has the teams only 2 wins and could very well be 3-2 if he doesn't get injured. So I'd have to disagree with you -

I disagree. I think they don't believe in Peterman. No passion or leadership. Allen gets them hyped . You can vsee they believe in Allen -
Any positive take away at all?
JerseyBills replied to The Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Harrison Phillips too. At this point it's all about the young boys progressing. Again, If Allen can end the season looking good, it's a bright future. Lots of young talent. 90 mil and likely top 5 pick to add to the foundation built. Defense gave up 2Td in first half. Both were possessions started inside Bills 30. Other 2 TD were by offense. I think the D is the real deal . With a competent O next year, not consistently putting them on field and maybe even playing with the lead, the defense will ball out. -
Anderson mainly. Just learning the playbook more , taking mental reps , learning the pro game. kids a gamer and his teammates believe in him. He's 2-2 and if not for the injury, possibly 3-2. Wins is the only stat that matters I hope he plays next week. I got Tix, I live minutes from MetLife stadium. Not going if Allen isn't playing
