Greg Roman was phenomenal here at his run game designs and looks even better now,as I am sure he learned from his time in Buffalo and basically having Tyrod 2.0 in Bal. But as we learned, "cute" will not equal consistent success, what happens when you get down and need to pass, and Jackson looks worse than Taylor at reading the field in a timely fashion and he's not a very good passer either. I don't see the hype about Jackson at all. He's basically a WR playing QB . You take away his 1st read and he's checking it down. He's very slow at processing the field. He reminds me of Taylor so much . Maybe a better runner but worse passer. If you disagree, take a shot Everytime you hear "check down" tonight.

Wow, I am almost shocked to see this coming from you, as I usually agree with your opinions and if I don't , you provide solid reasoning and I can see where you're coming from. Nothing special as a pass rusher?!? The same season he set the ALL TIME record for pressures in a game , the same season where he has the most 4th qtr pressures of any edge defender , approximately 1 pressure a series in the 4th qtr! That's special if you ask me. A season where he is the premiere pass rusher on the #1 pass D in the league. I respect your football i.q , you're smart enough to know that sacks don't equate to being an elite DE. He's causing consistent disruption to opposing QBs, he's a very good run defender. He's having one of his best seasons of his career and never takes a play off. It amazes me how much this man gets mugged and not penalized , it literally happens multiple times per game. It really seems as if the zebras have a vendetta against him . And it does seem to happen more vs the Pats****@

I agree and I feel I'm also right more often than not , it's just I trust my eyes and accumulated knowledge after many years of intensely following the game. One of my main reasons I believe Allen will be special has nothing to do with stats or his physical ability but his mind. He has the mental makeup I feel a legit franchise QB needs to have. He's already shown leadership ability , he energizes his offense, which gets the most out of them and he trusts his ability to make all the throws and just oozes confidence out there. Anything he is lacking on the field is coachable , I expect him to make a big jump next year , which will make him scary good. With that running ability added with the ability to literally make any throw from any part of the field is almost not fair! Thrilled # 17 is a Buffalo Bill.

Just tossing this out there again for those who think McDermott sucks. Thanks. McD gets so much out of his players , and we had the least expensive active roster in 2018 by a pretty large margin. He has an excellent defense with 5 first or 2nd year players starting on it . Dude can coach his butt off, happy he is a Bill.

Merry Xmas my man. Good to hear from you. Hope your Packers can get everything sorted out in the off season .

I have been saying this since the off season , cause many folks were down on Hughes because his sack numbers fell last year. I would always argu that he got consistent pressure on the QB last year and is elite at rushing the passer and above average against the run. He's a gamer. Those pressures often resulted in interceptions or incompletions.. His sack numbers are up a bit this year but the pressure he creates is amazing, he set the all time record for pressures in a game this year vs Minny and I just came across this stat from PFF- Buffalo Bills: Jerry Hughes has produced 24 fourth-quarter pressures this year, which is the most for all edge defenders. What makes it more remarkable is the fact that he’s only had 85 fourth-quarter pass rushes. https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-stats-to-know-for-all-32-nfl-teams-entering-week-16 That stat right there is incredible to me. Just wow, He's a huge reason why we have the #1 pass D and is criminally underrated when it comes to edge defenders , Hughes is a beast , and never gets the credit he deserves on a national level and even locally, he's underrated .

???? Those numbers speak for themselves. That's pretty incredible, especially when you consider our #2 cb only recently got solidified , straight from the practice squad, Levi looks like the real deal folks and our nickel is a later Rd rookie . Incredible. Shows how great Tre,Poyer and Hyde are too . Scary part is they'll be together for 3 more years minimum!!
-
Wow. La Canfora actually picked Buf straight up. They certainly have a legit shot with Brady and Gronk clearly not what they were and we have a legit pass D , even with our stud rookie nickel cb and stud 2nd year LB missing. Super interested in seeing Allen in Foxboro vs the Hoodie , if he has a solid showing in his 10th start , he's the ONE! By far the most excited I've ever been for a week 16 game where we're 5-9 , and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Love or hate him, there's no denying the excitement # 17 has bought to this board , because you can't deny his potential is off the charts

Matt Barkley extended for two years

Wondering if this means they're anticipating Daboll doesn't get a HC gig and staying ? Really Like the move though. Assuming they also feel he's a great influence on Allen -
[Edited Title] Lions v Bills 4th and 2 Decision
JerseyBills replied to IslandBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Liked the decision, didn't like the play call. Loved the decision to go for the 4th down on final drive, Allen looks automatic in 4th & 1 or less. People gotta remember, this is only McDs 2nd year as an NFL HC , he's learning too and finding his groove, I'm encouraged by the aggressiveness last gm. He has been too conservative at times but I think we'll continue to see more aggressiveness as he gains confidence in Allen and this young offense -
Bills 3-0 in games decided by 3 points or less...
JerseyBills replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
True that. Well I agree with what McD has consistently said all year, it's a very young team littered with guys barely able to drink legally. They have to learn to win in this league . Some very close misses versus Hou,NY and Mia , I'm willing to give them a pass because of the promising youth and hope they learn from those close losses which I think with the character and talent, they will learn. -

In fairness he did his job imo in the Jet n Mia game. The ol played atrocious in those 2 and he had us up in both , with the D surrendering a last minute TD vs NY and Clay dropping a game winning pass in Mia. The Texans game he couldn't finish , so that's not on Allen. -

That's a great sign moving forward for such a young team. #TrustTheProcess -

2019 Renewed Optimism - for real this time
JerseyBills replied to Coach55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've felt this way all year. I love the blueprint n vision McBeane have. This team is being built to have sustained, long term success and I'm confident that begins next year. They have built the foundation, established a solid core and now have a ton of flexibility in FA and the draft to build on this foundation and take this team to the next level -
Interesting article on Robert Foster

Calvin Ridley -
Yea, you got a point. I personally am just so encouraged by the type of throws he made and is continuing to make and the poise he shows in the pocket and of course his insane rushing ability and maybe most importantly, he trusts him arm and throwing ability, which is not common for a rookie. That was against the 11th best pass D , in terms of yards per game, and last week they held Rosen to 0 TD and a pick 6

Passing League my eye!! Think again.
JerseyBills replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chargers are the most complete to me, if Gordon is healthy for the playoffs. They have elite RB, QB, WR and solid OL. Elite pass rush and secondary. -
yea it's interesting. NE is finally hitting that wall. Gronk is done imo. Brady is starting to show his age, slowly and most importantly, they have drafted very poorly. But i feel the injury was a blessing in disguise for Allen . So i'm not to bothered by our record..Next year we'll be legit contenders, and I'll def be putting my money where my mouth is.
-
they have the highest active roster in the league by a big margin, 60 mil more than Buf. i believe they're projected to be over the cap by 25 mil next year , so they have to make major roster adjustments . Theyve drafted very poor since Marrone/Coughlin. They'll be rebuilding next year

The Lions chose to go after Tre White
JerseyBills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
true and also in his defense, the WR have made really tough catches against him. Sometimes you just gotta tip your hat to the offense , a great pass n catch beat great coverage -
he has regressed as the season progressed, Foster and McKenzie have both lapped Zay in just a few weeks , great finds by e front office! Can't believe this Foster kid wasn't even starting at Alabama. 3 straight 100 yard games!
-
Absolutely and it's not even close imo. Obviously it's tough to judge a rookie but I look at their weak areas and ask myself if that is something that can be coached up or is that an attribute a qb needs to have to be successful. I see one too many attributes that Rosen possesses that is uncoachable , i wouldn't be surprised at all if he's a backup somewhere in 3 years, I'm not sure he's nfl material at all.

Week 15 vs Detroit Game Balls
JerseyBills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd give Edmunds an honorable mention. Not game ball worthy but very solid play from the rook, showed some nice progression in some areas he struggled. Nice list btw, have to agree 100%
