Along with Steph Gilmore . Here is what they had to say. (F U PFF) Wesseling: Stephon Gilmore, New England Patriots; Tre'Davious White, Buffalo Bills. Gilmore finally allowed a touchdown in coverage on John Brown's 53-yard bomb in Week 16, leaving White as the cornerback with the most targets (83) without surrendering a score, per NFL Research. It's not every year that the interception leaderboard is headlined by the stingiest cover corners, but Gilmore and White sit atop the charts with six apiece while also ranking first (26) and second (23) in passes defensed, respectively. Gilmore ranked among the top three corners with an opposing passer rating of 47.4. Those numbers are all the more impressive considering New England's secondary lines up in man-to-man coverage as frequently as any team in the league. Gilmore is the key chess piece on a defense that is only the third since 2002 to amass 25 or more interceptions while holding opposing passers to a rating under 63.0. Capable of taking over games by erasing No. 1 wideouts and forcing timely turnovers, White is perhaps the lone week-to-week difference-maker on a Bills squad that reached double-digit victories for the first time this century. Shook: Stephon Gilmore, New England Patriots; Tre'Davious White, Buffalo Bills. Stephon Gilmore has owned the throne as the league's best corner for most of the season, and the advanced metrics back that up. Among those who were targeted 50-plus times, Gilmore was second in catch rate below expectation at -11.8 percent, second in ball-hawk rate (20.8 percent; this is the percentage of targets where the nearest defender made a play on the football), first in passes defended with 20 and tied for the lead in interceptions with six. He also ranked seventh in coverage success rate (60.4 percent) and allowed opposing passers to log just a 38.0 passer rating when targeted, second-best among that group. Only teammate J.C. Jackson, who faced nearly half as many targets (58) as Gilmore (96), was better in that department (allowing a passer rating of 21.8 when targeted). Gilmore's numbers and the tape don't lie: He's a premier cornerback. White's opposing catch rate below expectation is a bit less substantial, but at -8.4 percent, he still ranks sixth among those who were targeted at least 50 times. His hawk rate (20.2 percent) ranks third among that group, and his opposing passer rating allowed is just barely below Gilmore's, at 38.9. White is also tied atop the interception leaderboard with Gilmore at six, isn't far off in passes defended with 17, forces passes into tight windows on 28.6 percent of targets and allows just 4.0 yards after the catch on average. He's right up there with the best in the league. Edit - here is link http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001093805/article/2019-nfl-allpro-teams-eye-test-vs-next-gen-stats-defense It's official. We all knew this for a couple years now , but Tre is officially considered a top 3 CB nationally. What a draft pick , great player and even better person. So glad 27 is a Bill baby!! ???????

I LOVE IT I'm sure McD caught wind of this and this is great Xtra motivation. Especially if we go to BAL in 9 days.. They STILL don't realize it's different around here. We are a big family basically. And now we have the right guys at HC , GM , owner etc , to represent this team the right way. I think we punch Hou in the mouth Sat. KEEP TALKING ppl, you'll see very soon that we got something Special brewing over here!

Wow , this is huge people. Fuller adds a whole new element to that passing attack. That's a huge loss for them , will have a big impact on their passing attack. -
He's a stud! ?????? Look at McD just leaving White 1 on 1 with OBJ by the goal line. Tres technique, speed , awareness are just phenomenal.

[Incomplete Title] PFF’s all-pro team has ...
JerseyBills replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
PFF is great to add on to an argument on how good a player is but that's it. It's just a good reference tool, their system is wayy to flawed , it shouldn't be considered as " the holy Grail" in determining how good a players season is -

I noticed an uncomfortable trend with Buffalo and Josh Allen in particular. Allen has played a defense rated no less than 12 over the last 6 weeks and played well. There is some jostling in terms of pure passing defense, but when I look at the last game where he faced a "bad" defense (MIA week 11) he absolutely lit them up (4 total TDs). I wonder if RAC is going to be able to pull another rabbit out of his hat. Buffalo has a suspect offensive line in terms of pass protection. Run block grades are more favorable. Geez everything I look at in terms of matchup and strength vs weakness regressions it looks like more and more that Buffalo should win this game. Texans fan -
Exactly. If we needed that W , I think we would have won by double digits. I'm happy , but it's mind boggling how they could stick with Gase

Ya I agree. I don't like him at all and I very rarely feel that way about players . A franchise QB is so much more than on field ability. Allen clearly is heavily respected by everyone in this organization , the way he handles himself off the field has a huge impact on the team and has a direct impact on the teams performance imo.

TJ yeldon is a playmaker
JerseyBills replied to Over 29 years of fanhood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Especially with Hyde/Poyer durability. Neither leaves the field. I totally agree. -
This is disturbing for Browns fan. He really might continue to decline. clearlyvery weak minded , allowing opponent fans to get in his head w/ teammates behind him? That's a terrible look and concerning for his future

Will Allen run more in the Playoffs?
JerseyBills replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can actually see this staff thinking ahead and operating like that. They obviously realize the limitations on O. I can see them holding back some of the playbook for sure -
Really. ? I think Devin is a #1 or at least a 1a ,1b type of situation. His vision is ridiculous.. He has handled the workload well the last few weeks , we just had a piss poor showing by the OL in the run gm. I think with the right complement to him , he can be a star. I trust this FO to find that this off-season

Jalen Ramsey loses the game and throws Rapp under the Bus
JerseyBills replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They're going to be on a major decline for a few years. They recklessly went all in the past cpl years, made it to the big game but won't be anywhere close to that in the forseeable future -
The Pats established a solid run game all day . Routinely ripping off 5-7 yards , getting first downs and most importantly , used the run to set up the pass and a very effective Play Action for Tommy. They took it to us in the run game , the defenses worse performance since Philly in that regard. Buffalo couldn't do anything on the ground but 26 is a dog , just wasn't enough holes and extremely inconsistent. I swear it feels like Dabol throws away 3 drives a game with super predictable play calling on 1st and 2nd down and puts us in terrible position to keep driving. It was clear on 2nd watch that this game came down to running and stopping the run , which is essential to make a serious playoff run. My silver lining is no moral victory, we're too good for moral victories, but maybe it was a blessing in disguise with playoffs 2 weeks away , and the O and D being forced to make adjustments in the run department after a brutal showing last night. This isn't a talent or coaching gap , we can play with anyone but we gotta be able to establish and stop the run to make some noise and I think we're capable of doing so. Dec/Jan football hasn't changed. Run and stop the run and u have a tremendous chance at victory
