Guilty as charged! One thing I learned from my experience earlier this year: don't take everything to heart!! Here's to hoping Sue figures that out and returns soon.
-
Trust me, Hawk, Sue has a lot of friends here on the board. She won't be so easily forgotten.

My wife and I saw a touring production of Rent here in Baltimore and I really liked it. There's some pretty good musicals out there. I really liked Chicago, Fosse, and perhaps my favorite, Ragtime. When my wife and I were on our honeymoon, we saw that Cirque du Soleil had a theater at Disney where they performed. Of course, the tickets there were almost $100 each! That's crazy, especially after spending a few grand for the on-park resort package (we stayed at the Port Orleans; great place!!).

I'm looking forward to getting Halo2 also. Of all the games I have for the Xbox (around 40 or so), Halo is probably the best out of all of them. Considering I tend to play more sports games than first person shooter games, that's saying a lot. I like some of the other shooter games, like the Medal of Honor and Splinter Cell series, and Mech Assault, but Halo is better than all of them.

I looked for you last week at the Cards game, Hammer. Sorry to hear about your problems with WGR. -

Go for something different, maybe a player that every other person in the stadium won't be wearing. How 'bout a London Fletcher jersey or Brian Moorman? Maybe even Lee Evans? I only have one jersey, but I do plan on getting another one soon. Like my current one, it will be an old style jersey. -
More like the poster boy for unrealized potential. He and Brock Berlin are two peas in a pod, both suffering from "Ron Powlus Disease".

Now that's not nice.

Wow, we'll be there in 2008? Nice! BTW, sorry I missed you last weekend, Steve.

Omission? Whatever do you mean, Dan?

Who here wishes we had Bobby Shaw back?
R. Rich replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe so. My point is that when it comes to looking at solutions to the offensive woes we've had this season, we should look to correct things ON THE LINE first, not at WR or RB or even QB! -

I'd much rather have Will Wolford, John Davis, Jim Richter, Howard Ballard, and Kent Hull back (in their prime). -
You certainly did miss out by not watching the NWA in the 80s. I watched in on TBS back when it was called Georgia Championship Wrestling. Man, did they have a great group of wrestlers then. The Four Horsemen, Ricky Steamboat, Dusty Rhodes, Magnum TA, The Rock & Roll Express, Cactus Jack, Ivan and Nikita Koloff, and tons of others! Even my all-time favorite, the late Rick Rude, had a great run in the NWA. Those were some great times for pro wrestling.

(OT) Thank God it's not us this time

I wasn't happy with either Bush or Kerry. I didn't see the bright side of a win for either candidate. -
Even after 21 hours in my car, travelling over 1,250 miles, the weekend was good since I not only got to see the Bills win, but to see them score as they did and look pretty impressive on special teams too. I started by driving from Baltimore to Rochester last Friday, to meet the WNYTBDGPS for the obligatory garbage plate. I had my usual: the Texas red hot plate, then later had a cheeseburger/hot dog combo plate or, as Rockpile calls it, the "R. Rich special" (hahahahaha!!!!!). Only Dan Gross and Rockpile were there, as I didn't arrive until 1:45pm or so. We ate and then hung out for a while. Well, Rockpile and I did, as Dan had to leave. I stayed there until about 4pm, then made my way back to Erie. It was great to see Lori and Badolbilz again too. Lori and I spent a small amount of time agonizing over another horrible Penn State loss, then we had a Sam Adams Oktoberfest (I owe you one, Lori) and headed into the stadium shortly afterward. I was also happy to finally meet Bill from NYC. He's a nice guy, and he pays attention to our offensive line and to college football, two things I watch pretty carefully. Maybe I'll get to hook up with him and his NYC crew to watch a game sometime down the road. The game was awesome! I loved seeing some offense for a change. McGahee looks pretty good. While he still doesn't have that burst of speed that made him so dangerous in his last year at Miami, he does look to be on his way to recovering fully from that horrible knee injury. I was one of those people here who didn't agree with drafting McGahee, with more pressing needs on the defensive and offensive lines, but he's coming along nicely. Even in the preseason game against Denver, I noticed that he doesn't look hesitant about taking contact. To the contrary, he's been running hard between tackles. The only thing so far is his speed isn't back yet, but as I said, he's getting better by the day. After the game, I didn't stay at Lot 1, Pole 5 very long. I chatted with Lori, Bob Lamb, and Badolbilz for a short while, then my friend Mike and I left to go back to Erie. BTW, whoever it was who made the garlic potatoes over there, I want to say thanks. They were very good! Here's some photos I took at the game. Enjoy.

Week 8: 8-4-1 Overall: 56-44-4

Tucker is looking okay. Even if he pans out at center, we can still use quality depth. That's why it's important to address the line early in the draft. Even without a first round pick, you can still find excellent interior OL in rounds 2 and 3, where they mostly end up being taken anyway. We discussed Hopkins? You'll have to refresh my memory on that one. Jones would be a nice addition to our OL, don't you think? Look at what bringing in Spikes did for the LB unit. I sure hope it can happen. Sorry 'bout not making it back to your spot after the game. We left pretty quickly due to the weather and having to drive back to Erie.

If you were to go with Price as a starter, you'd better have a good backup available. I don't think it's a bad idea, though. Jennings can be let go, unless he wants to sign at a reasonable rate and compete for a starting position. He shouldn't just be handed one, as he hasn't distinguished himself at LT to the point where that should happen. Move Big Mike inside to guard. It minimizes his obvious weakness against speed rushers and helps to solidify the middle against the increasingly larger DTs (look at guys like Haynesworth, Henderson, and Stroud!!!). Teague is NOT the answer at left tackle. At all. Denver did not make an offer to retain him, or else he'd still be there. He was set to be replaced as the starter at LT, regardless of his contract situation. What I hope is that we make an aggressive move to sign a guy like Walter Jones to be the LT. I know it would be tough, as he wants lots of $$$ to play wherever he goes, but we should see if we can work something out with him. If we're successful with that, I'd hope we also look to draft a center AND a guard EARLY in next year's draft. We have average (barely) talent starting for us with very little depth. There is NO excuse for neglecting the line again this coming offseason.

OT - Hey R. Rich - How about a Trip Report?

She's already been notified. She knows it will be cold and that she needs to be prepared. If she isn't, that's on her. -

No. We, my friend Mike and I, hung around at Lot 1, Pole 5 for a few minutes after the game and talked with Lori, Bob Lamb, and Badolbilz. But, we decided to cut it short since it was a bit chilly and we still needed to get back to Erie. I'll try to get there early for the Steelers game, but I'll be there with Psycho Ward 86, who cannot stand being in cold weather. I don't know how much tailgating she'll be ready to tolerate that day. -
