  1. I've been subscribing to Shout!/Bills Digest since 1994 and I'm seriously considering not renewing the next time around if it doesn't get any better.
  2. You're missing the point. It's not even a question of where they draft players, but it's the ability of the players they draft. This organization seems to miss the mark in evaluating talent more often than not. Not that we haven't seen success stories (Spikes, Adams, Miloy, Fletcher), but we have just as many, if not more, failures/disappointments (Gregg Williams, Pat Ruel, Kevin Gilbride, Ryan Denney, Mike Williams, just about any of the low round OL draft picks, etc.). This has to stop, whether he starts making better judgments or if he's let go. Either way, it has to stop.
  3. I'm curious to know which 12-17 teams you think have worse offensive lines than Buffalo and why. No sarcasm, I really would like to know.
  4. The watering down of Shout!, also known as Bills Digest, was another shot in the gut to those of us who rely on internet streams (thanks, WGR) and magazines (gotta love that Shout!) to get our information. Thank goodness TBD hasn't been tampered with......................yet.
  5. Welcome to our point of view, April 2004. If only Donahoe was there with us at the time, maybe we would've addressed that on draft day. Oh well, there's always next year. Hahahahahaha!!!!!! Yeah, as if he'll pay any attention to the line then! He's been here 4 years and has done little other than draft one guy early and a bunch of average guys late.
  6. Now ICE, don't you think killing the guy is going a bit too far?
  7. After Blue leaves the air, I wonder if I could call DirecTV and get another channel in exchange for ABC? No wait.....the wife would want it so that she could continue to tivo that annoying gab fest "The View". Damn.
  8. Oh, but he didn't love JP that much, Bill. Don't you remember? He was trying to work out a deal with the Texans to move up ahead of the Steelers to draft Big Ben. Of course, we found out about this after Roethlisberger won 5 starts as a rookie and NO mention of this rumored deal came up at any time during the draft, when all we heard is how we got 'our guy' in Losman. I wonder how many GMs had deals 'in the works' for: Tom Brady Terrell Owens Ray Lewis Clinton Portis or Priest Holmes (who wasn't even drafted!!!) on draft day?
  9. They traded in their high moral standing for a truckload of cash when they hired Eisner to head the company.
  10. Alabama's LB unit is pretty damn good! In particular, I was impressed by WLB Freddie Roach and MLB Cornelius Wortham. They were all over the place. I also was impressed by the blocking of LT Wesley Britt. If this kid is available when the Bills pick, they should seriously consider him...........As far as the game against LSU is concerned, they gave it a game effort. They also were ridiculously screwed by a horrible non-call by the refs. LSU defensive back Corey Webster pushed a Bama WR in the chest WITH BOTH HANDS, causing the WR (I forget which one it was) to fall down, missing a chance at a TD. Webster, in turn, caught the INT in the end zone. The score at the time was 10-6 Alabama. That play changed the course of the game for both teams. LSU eventually wore down 'Bama, a team that can run the ball well but can't play that well from behind since they aren't a good passing team. But, with a 17-6 lead, they could've kept feeding the ball to Kenneth Darby, who had over 100 yards on the day. LSU got away with one there. I hope 'Bama can shake this one off and get ready for Auburn. If they play as hard against Auburn as they did for LSU, that will be one heck of a game! Utah continues to kick a** and take names. This team deserves to be in the top 6 of the BCS. Heck, I'd like to see how they would do against a team like Oklahoma or USC. They can score well, and their defense is not that bad (ask Texas A&M). Alex Smith is a dangerous QB when he gets going. He can run as well as pass, and they are loaded at the skill positions, especially at WR with standouts Parris Warren and Steve Savoy. They'll make things interesting down the stretch. I'm happy that Penn State held on to beat Indiana, but man, did the defense lay an egg. They let the Hoosiers throw the ball on them??? Damn. Did Georgia get a spanking by Auburn or what? I didn't tape or tivo that game (damn!), but I plan on tivo'ing the Alabama-Auburn game this weekend. I've only seen one Auburn game, when they beat LSU, and from what I saw, they are very good. I'm looking forward to getting another chance to see Auburn's QB, Jason Campbell, again. He shredded Georgia's defense last week. If he does the same to a very good Crimson Tide defense, he should get even more recognition. Oh yeah, speaking of players, here's ESPN's list of top contenders for the Hypeman Trophy. Hmmm.....Adrian Peterson 4th on their list, huh? Riiiiiiiiiiiight. This is the reason people laugh at this so-called award. Yeah, it goes to the best player in college football alright. I guess that's why Orlando Pace has one on his mantle, since he was clearly the best player in the nation in his last year at Ohio State, right? I watched the Miami-Virginia game on Saturday, mainly to get a good look at the Virginia LB group. While Ahmad Brooks really looked good, as did Kai Parham, the one that blew me away was Darryl Blackstock. This guy is a QB sack machine! He's incredible at creating pressure on the QB, whether he ends up with the sack or not. He should be one heck of a pro pass rusher. Has anyone seen Temple play this year? I wanted to tivo their game last weekend vs Syracuse, but it was blacked out (dammit!). I want to get some tape on LB Rian Wallace, who I hear is awesome. I also have heard good things about their QB, Walter Washington. Those of you who watched the game, or any other Temple games this year, and have some insight on either of these 2 players, please let me know what you think.
  11. Although it wasn't pretty, at least they beat Indiana on Saturday to get at least one win in the conference. It was starting to look like they weren't going to win any conference games this year. Fitting that it came against Indiana, a team that may have inadvertently cost them a national title back in '94.
  12. I found one by doing a Google search for the item I was trying to order (Saranac root beer). You may want to try it that way to see what replies you get.
  13. It looks like someone else 'gets it' about the offensive line. That, to me, was THE biggest problem we faced going into this season and NOT the WR position. I think both Fezmid and ICE have valid points here. There are problems with the offensive line that need to be addressed, as they have needed to be addressed for years. But, by the same token, Bledsoe did have ample throwing time in the game on Sunday and made some pretty awful choices. To me, it isn't one or the other. It's both. Sure, you can't single out the offensive line play for this game, but they have been a problem for many years. A problem that has gone untreated, for the most part, by the powers that be at One Bills Drive. Also, Bledsoe has had his chances to prove himself in crucial situations, like road games against division rivals, and has come up short. His play at QB and the offensive line are big problems for the Bills. It isn't one or the other.
  14. I wouldn't rule Utah out in terms of how good they are. Boise State? I dunno. I think Utah is for real though. I've seen quite a few Utah games this year and they look pretty good. Defensively, I'm not sure how they'd fare against some of the teams out there (Cal, USC, and Auburn have a good offense/defense balance and would give them tough matchups), but offensively they're very tough. In terms of a playoff, the whole thing stinks. A playoff system is the right thing to do, but the greedy powers that be in the conferences and the NCAA won't let it happen.
  15. You may also get a kick out of watching the NCAA Selection Committee's announcement of which teams get into the NCAA Basketball tournament. Then, you get the drama you desire and you also get a TOURNAMENT to decide who the champion is.
  16. Damn. Did bobble just have a stroke or something?
  17. I'll bump this up for ya. Hopefully you won't have a problem getting rid of those tickets.
  18. I wonder if they'll release the extended versions of all 3 movies in a set around the same time, or if they'll do that later on. That's when I'll buy them.
  19. We NEVER win on Sunday night? While I admit it was a long time ago, I was in attendance for the butt kicking we gave the Titans in the 2000 home opener, which was on a Sunday night.
  20. If only his game was as good as he thinks it is.
  21. Probably so, and could be the first overall pick in the draft, depending on who comes out early and other issues. If Miami finishes with the top overall pick and Aaron Rodgers of Cal decides to come out early, they should pick him. I really think he's a better pro QB prospect than Matt Leinart. Beyond that, I don't know if there's a better choice with the top pick than Mike Williams.
  22. I'm looking forward to it. I'll be hanging out with the CNJBBB and with Sidbuff, so at least I'll have fellow Bills fans around. I also think this could be a big win for the Bills, but they will have to be focused and ready to take care of business. Had they been more focused in Baltimore, they would've won that game also. This time, no stupid penalties or costly turnovers, please.
  23. Well, you could always threaten them.
  24. Ahh, let 'em have their fun. If the Bills win, it will make it that much sweeter. If they don't win, you can just ingnore it.
