I have a copy of Emmet Otter on VHS.

I don't have many friends from the board, but I'm proud to call you one of them, Bill. I think McFadden's will be the destination next year for my annual tour of Bills Backers groups (KRC's group in Pa last year, RICH's group in CNJ this year). See you then.

Yeah, but what do you know?

Two of my favorites are The Year Without A Santa Claus and Emmett Otter's Jug Band Christmas.

(OT) Anchor Bar, Buffalo special on Food Network.

Amen to that! I've been fortunate enough to try them at the last two home opening tailgates and recently at "Bills Central", his house, for the Bills @ Patriots game. Good stuff! -

Wings outside the area aren't that bad if you can find a place that cooks them properly and has a decent sauce. There's a couple places in Baltimore that have pretty decent sauce and cook their wings the right way. As for the Anchor Bar, I do like their wings a lot. Duff's too. -
Good.

I thought I saw a puddy tat. -
A lot would depend on free agency before the draft and the LT situation. If we were to lose Jennings with no veteran replacement via free agency, I would then look to the first round for OL help and maybe the 2nd as well. A real dominant guard, a guy like CJ Brooks of Maryland, Marcus Johnson of Mississippi, or Chris Kemoeatu of Utah will be around in the 2nd. The only ones I feel won't be there would be Elton Brown of Virginia or David Baas of Michigan, who I think will go in the first round. For interior OL, they can be had in the 2nd round, freeing up the first round pick for a quality prospect at safety or maybe even DE.

I'm looking at depth in the secondary and someone to push for the starting job. At worst, you end up with very solid depth. Just imagine if Prioleau and Reese both were playing at a high level. Wouldn't it be great to have that kind of depth?

Not according to Senator Blutarsky.

The nerve of some people! How's Joey, tmk-nj? He's not sleeping his way through any more of RICH's screaming, is he? Hahaha!!!
-
No, you won't live that down. The term "_____ whipped" was used, I believe. That would be nice if you make the game. I'm in the midst of making travel arrangements for it now.
-
Yeah Clements22, did you ever get the message I sent the night of the Bills-Pats game? I was told that you wanted to go that night, but bailed out. Traitor!

I probably won't be going to NJ for another game this season. I will be back next year, though. Maybe I can even drag Psycho Ward 86 up for a game.
-
I agree. I'd love to see Jackson, Webster, Ernest Shazor of Michigan or Darnell Bing of USC end up here. I'd use my 2nd round pick on the best interior OL available.

Great news, man. It's nice to be closer to home, isn't it? I've been on a detail from my regular office (Northeast Baltimore) to an office clear across town. This office is a 12-15 minute commute each way, as opposed to the 35-50 minute commute to my regular office. I've been on this detail for 1 1/2 years now and I hope I never go back.

That situation never plays itself out if there is even a BCS back in '87, let alone the playoff system Division 1A badly needs.
-
Maybe if everyone didn't feel guilty over the way USC was kept out of the title game last year, the BCS system wouldn't have been changed to allow the polls to have more of an impact in their team rankings. Without the weight of the polls, there's a chance that Auburn would be in the title game and Cal would have a BCS bid. I usually don't care for what Trev Alberts has to say, but yesterday, he made a good point. He said that the preseason polls, the same polls that put Auburn #19 in the country to start the season, are a big problem. I agree.
-
Good point. It helps to have a team that is well managed and well coached. If you have that going for you, anything is possible. Willis has shown that he could be very successful. I hope he continues to develop to where he's a dominant player.

Seattle is not a very good football team. They are division leaders, but the NFC West is pathetic. That said, I still think last week's win was impressive.
-
Nope. I'll see you 3 weeks from Friday, though.

(OT) Psycho chicks we love(d) to drool over.

No need to drool. I have my very own Psycho at home. -
Well, what a weekend for college football. The almighty BCS has decided that USC and Oklahoma will play for the national championship in the Orange Bowl. No, I will not put the stupid sponsor name with it, as I think the commercializing of college football has ruined it! Anyway, here's the final BCS standings. Two things: Cal got screwed and Auburn got robbed! Cal was passed over for the Rose Bowl so that Texas could play in it. It looks like Mack Brown's begging has paid off for the Longhorns, who did what they normally do: play well, except for THE game, the Red River Shootout vs Oklahoma. Another year, another loss to the Sooners. Why not reward them with a Rose Bowl bid? After all, what did Cal do to deserve one? They were just one play away from beating USC, but who are they, anyway? Actually, I do think USC is in the title game this year simply because they weren't in it last year. They tweaked the BCS system so that the polls factor in more, and the polls had USC on top. So, they're in. Do I believe they would be able to beat Auburn? No. Would they, in a rematch, even beat Cal again? Maybe. Still, the Trojans did win out this year, and that can't be taken lightly. Auburn got the worst of the deal this year. The greatest season in Tiger history, one where they not only ran the table in the VERY tough SEC, but finished undefeated as well!! Congrats to you. As your reward, you get to play Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl. I wonder who the BCS officials will be rooting for in that one? I'll bet they'd love to see the Hokies win, so they don't look any more ridiculous. Tommy Tuberville should be Coach of the Year and his team certainly deserves to play for the national championship considering what they were able to accomplish this year. Oh well. Another team gets the shaft. I'd be very worried if I were Frank Beamer, coach of Virginia Tech. The Tigers may take out their frustration on your team. Good luck. Utah gets to play the Pittsburgh Panthers in the Fiesta Bowl. This could get ugly. The Utes have a very good team. I don't know if Pittsburgh can keep up with them. The drama of Urban Meyer leaving to become head coach at Florida only makes this more of an emotional game for the Utes. You know they'll be ready to "win one for Urban". Michigan vs Texas in the Rose Bowl? What a joke. Texas begged their way in and Michigan backed their way in. Yeah, the 'grandaddy of them all'. Riiiiiiiiiiiight. Complete bowl game schedule
