  1. I stopped giving up things for lent when I stopped going to catholic schools.
  2. True, especially if you consider re-signing Nate Clements (if thats the plan). After one day of free agency, it's way too early to call the Bills' offseason a failure.
  3. Now this RICH really sounds like a voice of reason! Good post.
  4. Not a single person on this board knows for sure what Donahoe will do. Many of us just post what we hope will happen, which is about the best you can hope for. Donahoe won't let on what the plan is until he's ready to.
  5. I certainly don't think Teague would be that good at LT. He wasn't that good at LT for the Broncos. Maybe the team might consider moving Big Mike over to LT and signing a free agent to play on the right side. That would probably be a cheaper move than to sign a LT and keep him on the right side. I would just be a little concerned that whatever continuity the right side of the line has built (and it appeared that by season's end, they were MUCH better on that side) could be wasted if Williams is moved.
  6. I just thought I'd start a thread joking about the Bills' inactivity so far in free agency. You don't see many of those around here.
  7. It's always so tough to get a read on what Donahoe and company will do. I couldn't even guess, other than the rumored Shelton deal may mean that OT is an area that will be addressed in free agency or the draft if a deal cannot be worked out. Maybe also they're looking to upgrade the interior OL, in particular LG and maybe C, but that's just a guess. Who knows? Donahoe may make a move to upgrade the LDE spot, or even bring in a strong side pass rusher at LB to use on 3rd/passing downs. He may make a play for a veteran CB, knowing we need to add depth in the secondary. Like I said, it's purely guesswork at this point. What would I like to see? I'd like to see a really good free agent LT brought in (Tra Thomas, Shelton??) as well as a person who can fill in immediately at LG like Mike Wahle of Green Bay, Bennie Anderson of Baltimore, or Rick DeMulling of Indianapolis. I wouldn't mind seeing us go after someone as either depth or to possibly start at guard like Roberto Garza of Atlanta or Milford Brown of Houston, either. In addition to any free agency moves on the OL, I'd love to see us go after a quality guard or center in the 2nd round or 3rd round. If we go OL in the 3rd, maybe we could grab a good CB or pass rushing LB in the 2nd. Maybe even a TE.
  8. Good post. Greg's "...when you're gone, you're gone..." line was classic. I like the way it ended also. There's no need to 'wrap up' things, as even though the show was going off the air, the characters weren't retiring or anything like that.
  9. I'm not that keen on Ross. He wasn't that great for Pittsburgh at LT and over on the right side, the Steelers seem to like Max Starks a lot more than Ross. He's decent, but nothing special. Signing him wouldn't be a major upgrade. There are others I'd look to first.
  10. Agreed. We could use an upgrade at center, but we can live with Teague, who was improving toward the end of the season, if nothing is done in free agency or the draft at center. Personally, I'm hoping we use a 3rd round pick on a center, one who can either back up Teague and learn from him or push him for playing time. That said, guard should be a high priority as well as tackle. If no guard is signed in free agency (I sure hope either a stud LG or LT is signed), I hope that is what our 2nd round pick is used for. Even if we sign a free agent, I still hope we draft OL with our 2nd round pick.
  11. I thought the finale was a good one. All of the doubt that Andy had about taking command of the 15th could be seen in him throughout the show. Yet, by the end, he was becoming more comfortable and all of the others immediately responded to him as their boss. The scene where he and Bail were talking as Bail was gathering his things from the office was nice, as he tried to counsel Andy as best he could on what it's like to be a boss. I will miss this show, as it has been my Tuesday night staple from episode one.
  12. It's been okay. But, as I said, it will get better. And you?
  13. So I've heard.
  14. I know.
  15. Especially with the scare tactics. People are in fear now.
  16. No, he's going to be both the LG and the T.
  17. Hahaha!!! What a great idea.
  18. It will get better.
  19. Which gun accidentally discharged?
  20. What's football? I thought this was a B word about race/overreact to every news report/slobber over skinny teenage girls/talk to pasta salads/ask for assistance on homework/shout down opposing views board? Am I wrong?
  21. We need a backup for our new savior, JP Losman.
  22. Drew has shown better judgment and handles the pressure better.
  23. Of course. He's bringing in Mike Vanderteriakers. He's a free agent who reportedly kicks 75 yard FGs like most people kick 40 yarders.
  24. Nonsense. Just put a great OL in front of him, at least 2 Pro Bowl WRs, a Pro Bowl RB, a Pro Bowl TE, and a Pro Bowl K on the squad, and he'll be fine.
