  1. When I first started seeing my doctor in '96, I was 6-6 and about 279lbs. After a few visits, I was down to 267 and he was saying I was obese. Crazy! Presently, I weight 339lbs and I know I don't want to stay there. I hope to get down to around 255-265. Of course, I'll still be 'obese' according to some charts. Here's a decent article I found that talks about ideal body weight.
  2. That's great! Tell her I said congrats. I'd go tell her myself and all, but you did say Bensonhurst, didn't you?
  3. Me not it get. Sussplain it.
  4. It doesn't. I still don't have my undergraduate degree. Although I'm sure here in Maryland they have some sort of law that says, "anyone who can spell the word 'teacher' correctly can teach". They are so hard up for teachers here.
  5. Stomach cancer? Oh, man! I'll bet she was miserable before she passed away. She has to be better off now.
  6. I've been telling her for years that she needs to contact Shippensburg to see where she's at in terms of her degree. Before, she had to stop because of travel (she lived in the Shippensburg area, but worked in Harrisburg, which is about 45 minutes away), but now, maybe she can find a place where her credits will transfer and she can earn the ones she needs for the degree.
  7. You're right. It does come down to priorities. Right now, what I want has to take a back seat to what we NEED. Our dog needs to have running around room, so we got the fence. We needed a new sofa, so we got one last year. We still need a bed (we sleep on a full sized bed), so that's next. When I go down the list of priorities, those things are ahead of me getting my degree. I'm sure it will happen for me, at some point. Like one of my former high school teachers told me when I did my classroom observations, "you can always go back and teach".
  8. She had some sort of disease, If I recall correctly. She was on one of the soaps at the time she died.
  9. I wish. Since buying the house and all, there's always something that keeps me from putting aside any funds to do that. Last year, we bought a new sectional sofa w/our tax refund. This year, we used it (and other $$) to get a vinyl fence for the backyard. So, I won't even see the refund check, other than to kiss it goodbye, when we get it this year. I really do want to get my degree and start teaching and hopefully coaching. Teaching is something that comes pretty naturally to me. Once I'm done, I hope to be an Algebra teacher somewhere. Algebra was always the Math class that was easiest for me and I'm sure I could teach it so that it won't be so intimidating for others. As for coaching, I've wanted to do that ever since I was a kid. Maybe some day.
  10. Small world. Edinboro is just up the road from Erie. I've been there many times.
  11. Yeah, those scenes were pretty cool. Ray Park is one heck of a fighter. He did fight scenes for X-Men (Toad) and Sleepy Hollow (Headless Horseman) as well. He's supposed to star in the movie version of the comic book Iron Fist, but I haven't heard much about where they're at in the development of it lately.
  12. Is it something you can do part time? I need to find out what I need to do to get my Math degree. I'm sure I've lost tons of credits and probably have to start basically at the beginning again. That sucks. It could be worse. My wife stopped 7 credits short of graduating. She had to, because of work.
  13. Barry Bonds
  14. That's as cold as an Ice Cube.
  15. It's all just a conspiracy because he had such a low Wonderlic score.
  16. Hahaha!!! I was wondering the same thing.
  17. There's a few pretty good schools for that in PA, Steve. You should go for it.
  18. I never really liked him that much until I saw him in Old School: "Any questions? Yeah, from the guy that probably won't get in..."
  19. Sure. Why not? It'll come back to me anyway after I kick your a**.
  20. He didn't have many scenes, other than the lightsaber duel at the end and a few other appearances here and there. You may as well not even watch it, then.
  21. Where's the rest of this post?
  22. I'd love to be in the position where I could go back and finish my degree. Then, I could go get a job teaching and maybe even get to coach football.
  23. Well put, and you didn't need a 40 minute soliloquy, either.
  24. It's an expensive school (private Catholic school), but a good one, from what I've been told.
