  2. Clay SHOULD be in the Hall of Fame right now. His brother....did he get in? Sterling more than likely would've been in Canton were it not for the bulging disk in his neck. The guy had turf toe so bad he couldn't practice one year, and all he did was finish w/ over 100 receptions back in the day when not every other WR was @ or close to 100 receptions. And for most of his Green Bay career, he put up huge numbers w/out Brett Favre, as his neck injury forced him out of football right @ the time Favre started to heat up.
  3. We have a 3 round mock draft set to begin on Tuesday. The first round will be Tuesday, w/ each of the selections having a total of 10 minutes to pick. Rounds 2 and 3 will each have 5 minutes per pick. If we have enough people ready to participate, we'll start Round 1 @ 10am on Tuesday. I will post a signup thread tomorrow morning so that people can sign up for teams to draft for. Like in the past, teams will be given on a first come, first serve basis. And again, the Bills' picks will be done via a poll, so they will not have a mock GM. So, any takers?
  4. You've made a believer out of me. I second that.
  5. Nine wins is not reasonable considering all the upheaval. If not expecting this team w/ all of this stuff going on to win 9 or more games is me displaying a "loser mentality", so be it. I've been accused of far worse.
  6. Considering the switch to a 3-4 defense, the fact that the team isn't really that well equipped for said defense (who's the NT? OLBs who aren't converted DEs w/ zero experience as OLBs in a 3-4?), and issues along the O line and @ QB, just how in the world can we as fans reasonably expect this team to win nine or more games? And, if they finish short of that lofty goal, then the organization (that inherited this mess) is a failure? Wow.
  7. No way. Lee Evans is worth way more than that just by himself. He'd easily command a trio of first round picks.
  8. Wait, I know this one. Lemme see.........Randy Quaid in "Major League", right?
  9. They traded up to get (current NY Jet) Santonio Holmes. Anything's possible, but it doesn't appear to be a Kevin Colbert type move. They can sit there and posisbly get Haden, Wilson, or McCourty. Or, they could end up w/ a guy like Iupati or Davis if there is a run on corners. I think by standing pat, they'll get a player that can help 'em @ one of those spots.
  10. Pittsburgh has bigger issues @ CB and OL and they will probably use their first round pick in one of those directions.
  11. You're negative if you don't agree w/ me. C'mon now, jw. You should know this.
  12. The supermarket draft mags are all published early and many don't take into account things such as the combine and individual teams' pro days. That's why some of their mock drafts and player rankings will seem a tad bit off. As far as which one I would consider best, I still think Ourlads has the best quality in terms of their player rankings. Kiper's draft guide is solid too, as is the PFW guide (not the mag). If you're into the online guides, The Sporting News has a really good one.
  13. Duck Fook
  14. I can't speak for others, but for me, it isn't a question of either/or. I don't believe the Bills can address each and every need of their team in this one draft. That said, the top QBs in this draft do not (IN MY OPINION) trump the top OTs or DTs in this draft. I hope the Bills won't draft a QB w/ the 9th pick, but if that is what happens, then all I can hope for is that they'll put the talent 'round the guy to help 'em succeed as opposed to their proven track record of setting 'em up to fail. Maybe. There's a chance that guys like Saffold, Vlad Ducasse of UMass, or Jared Veldheer of Hillsdale will develop into a potential starter and if the Bills can get their QB early and add one of these guys, that wouldn't be so horrible. There are no guarantees w/ any position. As is always said of the draft, it's a crapshoot. But, you can probably find multiple early round QB flame-outs for every OL bust. You mention Mike Williams from the 2002 NFL Draft. Well, out of the 4 OTs taken in that round, he's the only one you can honestly say is a "bust". Bryant McKinnie is a Pro Bowl tackle, Levi Jones was a stater for 89 of 94 games in Cincy (and is pencilled in as Washington's starter on the left side), and Marc Columbo has started 64 of 80 games for Chicago and Dallas. So that gives us one "bust" out of 4 OTs selected in Round 1 of that draft. There were also 3 QBs taken in Round 1 of that draft: David Carr, Joey Harrington, and Patrick Ramsey. None of 'em have distinguished themselves as anything more than journeyman players that have each had...and lost...starting jobs in the league. So, just on the '02 draft alone, you have 3 out of 4 OTs that have been productive starters while you've also had 3 out of 3 "so-so" QBs.
  15. Which team are the Bills trading the 9th overall selection, Lynch, and Whitner to in order to acquire the pick to draft Suh? The Rams, who already have Steven Jackson @ RB and O.J. Atogwe @ safety? Or the Lions, who do need someone to go along w/ injury-prone Kevin Smith but drafted Aaron Brown last year and could possibly land a guy like Jahvid Best of Cal w/ their 2nd round pick? Oh yeah, and the Lions drafted a potential Pro Bowl safety last year in Louis Delmas. Must've been a lotta wine.
  16. True. Bruuuuce was the exception, NOT the norm. Bruuuuuce played in a 3-4 for the majority of his career.
  17. Not quite. But I do. We??? I'm going, as I set up the pregame tailgate. It would be nice to see ya there. It could be the tiebreaker (after the NO loss and the STL win).
  18. I didn't see anywhere in the post where the poster said there is no team willing to trade up. I think the point is just that it isn't as easy as saying "just trade up or down" and you get what you want. Now, the Bills don't have a top 3 or 5 pick, so maybe it would be enticing to other teams if a player they covet falls out of the top 5. But, there's no guarantee that there's a bunch of teams just waiting to move up into the 9th spot. Maybe it'll happen, maybe not.
  19. League championship results are now posted.
