Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)

Litigation of any kind should never take 19 years to complete. There’s just too much BS baked into the system and only available to very deep pocketed adversaries. -
Last player to leave in any way that hurt?

I’ve never seen a receiver run more coverage into route patterns by other receivers in my life. He just had ZERO concept of pass game design. -

I’m having the exact same issue. -
Tre White to the Rams - 1 year deal, $8M up to $10M

Wish him all the best. Except of course when we go out there next season. -
Does Josh Allen still work as hard in the offseason?

I see you’re not acquainted with the concept of hyperbole as a literary tool to emphasize a point, which is to say he’s not as bad a player as some want to make him out to be. Especially the folks at PFF who two GMs personally told me it was all they could do to keep from laughing when a certain player and agent cited their “ratings” in negotiations. Well done, indeed.
-
The only way I can answer the question is that I put no stock in the PFF ratings. Were his grades based on his play at DE? Not that it matters, really. We’ve upgraded the depth at an important position in our defense by signing a guy with experience and position flexibility. He’s not an All Pro, but he fills a role better than anyone we had last year. And the fact there was little market for him is another reason I think it’s a sneaky good signing. We shall see.

His investment in the area and having his HQ in Olean for years suggests he does give a crap and that’s all I have to say on the matter. -

So it’s a bad thing that he made commitments in the revitalization of Harbor Center with various construction projects and the hundreds of jobs that generated? He didn’t have to do that. But it makes good sense to invest in the community around which your teams are centered. I just don’t see the negative in that. -

Perhaps not Buffalo proper, but living in Olean certainly qualifies as being part of the WNY community. As I’ve said, he was a longtime Sabres fan and season ticket holder long before he became a billionaire. https://www.oleantimesherald.com/sports/columnists/remember-when-pegula-was-a-local-hockey-coach/article_b369f874-d847-11e5-b387-67e32cba2312.html -

Sorry I don’t have the receipts for his season tickets to offer as proof. However, there were several articles at the time of his purchases that referenced his season tickets ownership. As for the rest of it, I have no particular affection for the guy, either. -

That stands to reason but that doesn’t mean he didn’t have an affection for Buffalo, the Bills, Sabres, and WNY before buying either team. He just doesn’t fit the profile of someone who doesn’t care about this community. -

I don’t know if that’s true about Pegula. He was a die hard Bills and Sabres fan long before his success in the oil business and he had season tickets when he lived in Olean. -
Yep. What he’s put on “tape” over the course of his career along with his medicals are the only thing that matters at this point. The scouting is long over for MHJ. The only thing that might be a concern for a team is how he does in his meetings and the football acumen he demonstrates at those meetings. But he’d have to be a complete jerk and idiot for any team to think twice about taking him.

And we can bet that the Bills and Legends are acutely aware of this statistic as well as the fact that those are three high demand pro football markets, too. It will be very telling when we see how the demand for the clubs and other premium seating shakes out. -
Jeremiah has us taking a DT at 28 in his latest mock

But Cam’s career decline IS pinpointed to one singular injury, though. It’s not a matter of opinion. There’s a fine line between putting Allen in harm’s way and utilizing his unique athletic ability on designed running plays. He’s a weapon that defenses have to respect. But Allen’s scrambles and runs are outside of the design anyway, and he needs to be smarter about protecting his own self when out there. And while drafting a blue chip receiving prospect would be fine, that won’t do much to curb Allen’s propensity for taking risks when he scrambles and take off. He is what he is. -

Could have sworn it was while in the pocket on a pass attempt, but I stand corrected. The larger point of my post was that Cam’s career wasn’t shortened because he was “run into the ground”, which is a common misconception. -

I don’t know if Beane has learned any lessons or not, but he was not the GM in Carolina nor did he run Cam Newton into the ground. How players are used and what they do in games is on the coaches and players themselves. And for the hundredth time, Newton’s career wasn’t cut short because he ran the ball too much. It was cut short by a shoulder injury sustained in the pocket while attempting a pass. -
Always nice to see someone plant Joe Burrow.

It’s interesting how so many want to discount the years of intense market research that went into all of this. The Bills know their customer base inside out and it’s no coincidence that the “experience” is located in Williamsville. -
He certainly has a seat at the table.
