  1. To prevent against other types of head injuries. Can you or anyone else here explain how a helmet prevents the brain from moving inside the cranium and smashing into the inside of the scalp? Because if they cant, which they don’t, then they only offer a modicum of protection against concussions. They do, however, protect against lacerations, facial injuries, blows to the head, etc.
  2. The idea that helmets can prevent concussions is simply inaccurate. They offer minimal protection at best.
  3. Seems we’ve had this same discussion about helmets and how they can mitigate concussions many times here over the years. Bottom line is that until a device is invented that can prevent the brain from sloshing around and smashing into the side of the skull then helmets, and whatever extra padding you wish to add to them, will continue to offer very little protection.
  4. He’s been the model of inconsistency and that’s probably the best thing I can say about him at this time. He still guesses wrong too often for my liking, especially on play fakes.
  5. Mike Edwards might be the biggest waste of a FA signing next to Vontae Davis. At least we got a half out of Davis thiugh.
  6. Depends. Have we found something else to whine about?
  7. Zealots are all the same, regardless of religion and denomination. Gee, you think they’ll issue a fatwa? Maybe you should gone with, “Does a bear crap in the Vatican?”, instead.
  8. No. The Pope craps in the path then pushes into the woods and blames it on the bear.
  9. Scoring more points and making offenses one-dimensional would help. But our gap integrity leaves a ton to be desired.
  10. Does Adams know how to stay on the red line? Or is he prone to running in-breakers, too?
  11. What kind of sorcery is this?
  12. Flying like the salmon of capistrano. Outstanding!
  13. We will never win the SB with him at the controls. He is mind-numbingly addle-brained with situational football late in halves. Frustrating.
  14. Agree entirely. Playing behind the sticks, especially on your side of the 50, can really limit your offense.
  15. Nothing about this game, except for some good defense at times, went the way I thought it would, especially with how dominant our O line was against what I thought was a much tougher Jest D. Kudos to Kromer and co. And of course Josh who made several signature plays. I wish we had receivers who could separate on time when he’s in the pocket, but we don’t so we are reliant on him breaking containment and making something happen on the run, but when Josh does his thing, it doesn’t seem to matter.
  16. It speaks well of your optimism that you considered them a serious SB contender this year in the first place. That said and as we’ve seen countless times over the years, anything can happen once you get to the dance. So while perhaps not being a serious contender, getting to the dance gives them a chance. That ball is shaped funny and weird crap happens all the time.
  17. We will be at 3-3 after six games if we lose tonight. How did you feel when we were 6-6 after twelve games last season? A loss tonight isn’t the end of anything, especially in our weak division.
  18. In shotgun maybe, but you do when you’re taking a snap from under center.
  19. A win of any kind, ugly or otherwise, would be a “get right” game.
  20. Halloween Day, 1987. Eight days later he introduced himself to John Elway and the Broncos and put the league on notice. Good times.
  21. I imagine their new HC will still be calling the defense. But I don’t think it matters because we just don’t match up very well with their personnel currently.
