Bills to install A-Turf field
Mini Max Anderson Fan replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love that idea, especially with the charging buffalo in each end zone. It would look sharp and fit in with the new white helmets with the charging buffalo on it. -
Bucky Brooks calls Merriman signing
Mini Max Anderson Fan replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To me, Promo always gives a logical answer to a multi sided argument that really has no answer, given Bills fans are all over the place with their own ideas/thoughts. -
Interesting article: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/don_banks/06/20/nfl-chicago-meeting/index.html?hpt=hp_t2 About 1/2 way in the article is a mention of Ralph's part in the 2006 CBA and how he was against it (it has been reported he didn't vote for it because they didn't even take the time to read it!?!?!). It mentions "foresight" and Ralph in the same sentence! Seems the big money big guys (Jones, Kraft, etc.) aren't quite as smart as our ol' Ralph. Not even read a CBA? So, let's hope the CBA is thoroughly understood and clarified too all before they sign a deal so we don't have to go through this again in the near future. A rookie wage scale is definitely in order imho. So, thank you, Ralph for recognizing the previous CBA wasn't a good deal for the owners (especially small market types, which our Bills are, no doubt). Also,THANK YOU Mr. Ralph Wilson for keeping my beloved Bills in Buffalo, no matter the cheapness, the overbearing owner phases, the incompetence of the Bills organization at times. The Bills are still in Buffalo, where they belong. I can't imagine not seeing that buffalo helmet that we all so love. Thanks, Ralph. Thanks for not running for bigger money, for seeing the passion in Bills' fans hearts and their love of the Bills. A very big player in the AFL/NFL merger and the AFL tv deals, Ralph has always been the underdog, the guy flying under the radar. Flame me, I don't care, for Ralph is also human and has made many mistakes. But, he never made the biggest mistake of all. GO BILLS!!

Torell Troup's Progress
Mini Max Anderson Fan replied to buffalohotwings's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In response to the bolded statement, I have a question, when was the next Bills pick? Someone mentioned he was slotted (hate that word) at 66. If the Bills wanted Troup and didn't think he would be available at their next pick, then his choice at 41 makes sense. Obviously Buddy and Chan saw something in him to warrant such a high pick and I Billieve in them to turn OUR Bills around. -

There have been work stoppages in football, don't fool yourself. It is the rich against the richer and neither side really cares about us, imo.

How many times have we seen other teams run out the clock on the Bills? Too many to count for me. But, to see the Bills do it yesterday was a thing of beauty! It was the time in the game to attempt to run the clock out, everyone knew it and the Bills rammed it down their throats. One of Sal's quotes from today: 6. In what weird, wacky way will this game end? Actually, it had the kind of ending Bills fans dream of, with the Bills running the ball down the opposition's throat, thus running out the clock. What a concept. http://www.democratandchronicle.com/article/20101213/SPORTS03/12130326 Another Sal article with a quote from Levitre: "It shows the character of the kind of guys we have on the team by those last few runs that we had, proving that we can get it done," said left guard Andy Levitre. "Offensively I thought we played a pretty good game today. We came into the game thinking we could run the ball, and we did a pretty good job executing it." http://www.democratandchronicle.com/article/20101213/SPORTS03/12130303/Buffalo-Bills-outmuscle-Cleveland-Browns-for-victory That is the mindset we need on this team, Chan is changing the culture, give him some time. Great to see the young kids on the field producing (Moats, Troup, Carrington), people had said watch the second half of the season for the youngins to get on the field and they are showing up now. Says a lot about coaching to me. I love Freddie! Sorry for the other drivel I posted here, the post started out about running the clock out, but my mind wandered. GO BILLS!

Peyton threw 4 ints last night, such an innacurate thrower!!!! Every qb (cept brady most times) throws inaccurate balls, tis the nature of the game, fast game, quick throws. I'll take Fitz, as Keukasmallies stated "he makes the players around him better", the line has played better with him as qb, he can and does make the pre-snap adjustments necessary, goes through his reads well and has significantly improved 3rd down pct. Best BILL qb since Kelly and I believe will get better given the chance. GO BILLS!

Excitement for Sundays Again
Mini Max Anderson Fan replied to It's in My Blood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mentioned the exact same thing to my gf Sunday as we watched the Bills! The competitiveness shown recently gives me hope that this regime might be the one to take us to the playoffs, yes I said playoffs, down the road. Logic dictates we give Buddy/Chan a chance before we run them out of town. GO BILLS! -
http://espn.go.com/ For fantasy football fans and whether they should pick up Fitz this week. Wicked cool!! Something positive about our beloved Bills! Go Bills

My first prediction in 20 years
Mini Max Anderson Fan replied to DIE HARD 1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Welcome back Die Hard, this is the second time I saw you say you don't like dem Chiefs for reasons that go back to 1967, can you share any of the details? Some people have mentioned Hank running up the score late on the Bills, wondering if that is one of the reasons. Thanks and GO BILLS! -

Congratulations to Fitzy

Great reply, maybe someone will use it in their signature. First time in Bills history says it all, 4 games in a row > 30 points. For a franchise that hasn't spent many years on the plus side of the w/l record, quite an accomplishment. GO BILLS! -

The issue of Buddy and Chan sucking is such a microcosm of our society today imo. We have some much instant gratification with the technology available today. We want that big screen tv, so we use credit to get it NOW. I waited 7 years for mine, as I have no credit cards. Patience is the key and I see a lack of patience (I understand the last 10 years too, fellow Bills fans) to see if their plan will succeed, which will take some time. Used to be new coaches/gms were given the time (contract wise) to implement their plan. When a new regime comes in, it isn't because they take over a great or even good team. So, after less then 1 year of service, there still is much time needed to turn this around. Given the weak fa class because of the voiding of the cba and many, many quality free agents were restricted rather then unrestricted and having only 1 draft so far, lets calm down a bit, believe in the plan Buddy and Chan are following. I also am not a fan who goes to the ralph for every home game, who spends his/her hard earned dollars and received a less then valid return for their love of the Bills. I can understand your frustration, how the Bills break your heart, but you are there at the next game, more hard earned dollars given for this inferior product. I salute you people who fill the ralph and make the joint rock. Maybe someday I can go with my son, a fellow Bills fan, and experience the game in person. Given these hard times, might take a while, but it is a dream of mine. JMHO GO BILLS! -
He has definitely lit it up this year with bone crushing hits. Name some other defenders on the Bills that have really smacked down an opponent this year? I remember Lil Donte making some awesome bone crashing tackles that even got a replay on the bias broadcasts. Also, Donte had 11 total tackles today, 10 solo. Nice stat, but way too many opportunities which reflects the sorry state of our front 7. GO BILLS!

Read 2 articles this morning that, taken together, show 2 big reasons our beloved Bills are in a long playoff slump.... This article discusses our new 3-4 D and the inability to create turnovers in the first game this year and, more importantly, get that big play on 3rd down to get off the field and give the offense the ball back. The second point is so crucial to winning (imo) and shows the lack of play makers overall on our D. I have seen the lack of getting off the field on 3rd down from the defense for years (or a lifetime it seems ). http://www.democratandchronicle.com/article/20100913/SPORTS03/9130313/1021/Bills--new-3-4-defense-OK- The second article discusses the futility of our offense's 3rd down conversion rate last year and in the first game this year (I bet it has been low for years, too lazy to do the research ). Maybe futile doesn't fully describe the conversion rate last year, as they became only the 32nd team to have a conversion rate lower then 30% since the NFL went to the 16 game schedule in 1978. Also, only 2 teams have had winning records with a rate <30% since 1978. http://packersnews.greenbaypressgazette.com/article/20100917/PKR07/100917115/tbd IMO the Bills will not become consistent winners until they can improve the statistics of these 2 crucial categories. Improvement in either category, on either side of the ball, would seem to indicate to me that Chan has the Bills on the right path in a short period of time and would go a long way towards changing the culture of losing surrounding the Bills. Thanks for reading GO BILLS!
