Early last year I think Phillips was still recovering from the injury he had in 2019. He started looking better late last season, I'm guessing McBeane thinks he'll be fully healthy this season. Some of these big guys take a little longer to get back to 100% after an ACL tear.

Daboll doesn't use RB's all that much, so does it really matter ?

I don't remember seeing him in college so I looked at his highlight tape ( yeah they only show the good) but I was impressed by the length of his arms. Seemed he'd be 3' away from the QB or RB and he'd reach out his arms and the guy with the ball was dead to rights. In 2022 he'll be a starter and a solid one at that. He may even take the starting LDE spot before this season ends.

Why don't we use the biggest DT on this team as a 1T ?

The Bills were in new territory this year. Over the last twenty years we've sucked the majority of those years and had the benefit of drafting early. Now we have a good enough roster that we went, what, 13-3 last year ... not a lot of room for starters this year, but in a year or two, we may have a few from this draft.

Beane did his best to protect Josh and to get after our opponents QB, I have no problems with the draft. Being a good team may help get us the better UDFA's... the lesser UDFA's might think they have no chance of making this team.

The year before we drafted Josh, I wanted them to pick Watson. Mahommes was going to be a bust, Watson wasn't going to ask for extras, next years QB's were going to suck etc... Glad we got the right Josh. I was happy when we drafted Sammy Watkins despite having to trade up ... I actually wanted Sammy over Khalil Mack ... Walking away in shame 🤕
