Nothing in MD (my home state too unfortunately) or Virginia, but a great trip is close by, to Charles Town WV... It's hilarious in fact, since it's the closest casino to DC so you get the Obama loving crowd, mixed in with folks who belong on Duck Dynasty!! Great for people watching!!

That won't last in today's PC world. In fact, here in MD, an alien, yes, including illegal ones, can go to school paying in state tuition, yet someone from PA, right next door, pays out of state...

Interesting.... part of Texas huh? I was thinking something along the lines of the Chautauqua region of NYS... Of course we'd have to exempt them from NY tax and grant them full autonomy from the US.... Oh... wait.... that won't work... See Iroquois Nations....

Brave ABC Officers Arrest Girl for Buying Water

This is clearly a case of watching too many Starsky and Hutch reruns... Jumped on the hood?? Pulled a gun?? I'm willing to bet, none of them identified themselves as cops either..... Heck, if I was plain clothes, assigned to find underage alcohol buyers instead of murderers and rapists, I guess I'd be too embarrassed to ID myself too. -

Gay marriage decision coming soon
Cinga replied to John Adams's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
yes the 14th does but I haven't seen it so far in the brief, only the 5th which HAS NOTHING to do with equality. I'll keep reading, 77 pages, and get back to you if I see it.... ... but this is NOT an equal protection... This was a gay couple that lived together, and one had to pay tax after the death of another, not covered by the spouse exemption (though limited) for married people.... Now, does this also mean that if my brother lives with me his whole life, and I die, he should also qualify under this and not have to pay tax under what I leave??? How 'bout my dog??? Isn't that also "equal" protection under this same argument? -
Gay marriage decision coming soon

This is possibly the end of people in this nation having any say whatsoever in government... Prop 8 was legally voted on by the people of CA, as an amendment to their constitution... The gov and AG of the state, refused to defend it, and it was thrown out by the lower courts as unconstitutional.... and amendment??? as unconstitutional???? Also, since it was a state issue, under what pretense should the supremes have even been presented the case? The US Constitution says absolutely NOTHING about marriage, so by that alone, it is a power left to the states, or to the people of the states.... DOMA... grasping at straws by the supremes... Has anyone else read the summary by Kennedy?? He believes it's unconstitutional based on the equal rights guaranteed by the 5th Amendment?? WHAT????? Someone help me out here..... What the $#%@ does the 5th have to so with equality??? But then again, THIS is a STATE issue, since nothing in the Constitution grant fed authority over it... - See more at: http://constitution....h.38YhriP3.dpuf -
did anyone really miss them??

Edward Snowden: Hero or Traitor?

And again, neither of you read the link, nor understand how a warrant is supposed to work.... ******HINT******* Mass warrants to include whatever you might find, are UnConstitutional, thus making FISA itself, unlawful.... -
The Government Has Just Made Me A 1%er
Cinga replied to 3rdnlng's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I stand corrected.... And hope I get one too because I will do the same thing I did for the census, mark the number of people in the home and nothing more.... It was fun for a while, but after a while and one threat too many, I gave then my attorneys card and said any more communication with me could go through him... Never heard from them again... -

I like Judge Napolitano's take on this so far. I know, this kid broke a "double secret pledge" in the Animal House we call government, but where is the line? So far, he merely told Americans that the government is spying on us and that same government, is the one calling him a traitor... I'll say it once again... We're too easy to lose focus on the issue itself. I don't care about Snowden, but I most certainly care that the government has been collecting data on all of us WITHOUT a warrant!!! Read below.... I think you need to check your mail a little more often since the census was a few years ago... -
Naaaaaaa....... Apparently, they're just going postal on each other.... Nothing to worry about here, in fact, if this is true, I can hear Americans raise their voice in joyful song!!!

I guess I need to put a disclaimer in here.... I TEACH people skills and product knowledge to call centers for a major company (not Yahoo) that always ranks highly for outstanding customer service... 1 and 2... Yeah, those qualifications I can't say I agree with, but with such a depressed labor force, I see more and more companies doing this same thing, setting requirements well beyond anything that are normally set. We actually did that for a while too, but the with the turnover, I finally convinced them to lower the bar, and we now hire people with a focus more on Soft Skills than hard skills like degrees and education... I thought we were loosing out on some major quality people because of this, and that doing away with this requirement, actually gave us a way to chose people that would be happy in a career in a call center... Back to the turnover a minute though... The vast majority of the turnover we experienced, was due to promotion within our own company, gaining jobs in other departments and fields.... A fantastic thing, I'm proud of every single one of them for achieving.... I could see these Yahoo jobs being similar, in a depressed job market, becoming a foot in the door type scenario for the ones hired, and the requirements make me think that is exactly what they have in mind... 3 and 4.... This is our beloved Western NY right?? Where taxes are too high already, and sure to go up? On companies and the people?? And we're going to complain because FINALLY, someone realizes this problem, and gives a tax break to lure jobs??? I left "home" many years ago, because of the taxes and lack of opportunity, and I know, there are many here who have done the same... Maybe it's about time to make some changes, heck, if they made enough, I could finally come home.... Wondering if Yahoo needs a trainer too.... have to add a 1 somewhere in those first 3 digits though... Finally, personally, I hate calling customer service for almost anything, because I know how terrible it's going to be from most companies. I won't mention names, but my cable company always ranks as one of the worst.. Is there really a problem with trying to find highly qualified people in order to provide that special service people should be able to expect?

Have to add... Your backwards... read the 4th again... It's not me that has to prove anything, it's you, and the government, that has to prove a warrant, search and seizure, is valid... -

Cinga replied to CosmicBills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Yeah, I know... I'm one of those silly people that actually READ the Constitution, as well as the history surrounding it; the Federalist Papers, and some of the Anti; and seem stuck in that era... Funny though that even OwlGore himself, the main proponent of the "Living, Breathing" argument, seems to think this goes well beyond even a modern interpretation... -

He should have let one of the kids hit him with the hammer, then they'd be tried as adults and he'd be fine.... Yes, that was sarcasm.... -

What privacy expectations??? Ever read the 4th?? Unreasonable searches and SEIZURES!! What part of that is so difficult to understand?? Tell me... is it the seizure part?? Or is it the warrant??? Maybe the probable cause? I got it.... it's the oath or affirmation part.... I guess we all must have something to hide then because it's ALL of us the government is seizing these records from. Personally, I'd like to see what a stack of 330 million warrants look like... -
Edward Snowden: Hero or Traitor?

This whole debate is somewhat comical... As I said before, I don't care about Snowden!!!! I care about the breach to our liberties that are taking place. And especially that there are some on both the right and the left that are in favor of this government over reach.... Weird even, that I may be more of a Constitutionist than anyone else on this board, and have an Allie in non other than Al Gore who thinks this is disgusting? Oh, and of course, Gore's former TV channel.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2-B7BibG8U But this could get to be fun too.... Since the American People have nothing to fear so long as they have nothing to hide, how will Obama respond to be called out in the same way? http://www.humaneven...hite-house-irs/
