Heck, that is some brash policy right there
-
We better send out the "thought police" on him.... I seem to remeber both being critical of the US being the world police.... so was he just upset about trouble on the highways?
-
I have not heard him tout throwing out highway safety regulations. What I have heard him advocate is tru free market capitalism and non intenventionalist policies toward to the rest of the world. Actually, the more I hear, the more he sounds very different than the other two choices we have.

But what if it is true love? I mean, yes is started off with a sex assault, but it may turn into a loving relationship.... Maybe these 'Baners are on to something here?

We left Iraq, we should leave the 'Stan- I can't see anything good coming out of that place, not in our lifetime... except for Lithum or something... They poison kids.... I mean !@#$, little kids......
-
Good News- we're going to be involved in the 'Stan for at least another decade- we're in a country where a group of people poison children for going to school... I can't imagine what good we will do there, other than waste money

Womb to Tomb - Obama's Got You Covered
B-Large replied to IDBillzFan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It was simple- you know, like most American voters LOL I don't know, there was nothing in there that made me run for the hills. Trying to create and environment to educate and encourage success, to me, is a good thing- public policy that encourages self sifficiency is a good thing, no matter what party it comes from. Maybe I am crazy here, DC? and yes, she could so it herself. -
The President Is Up By Eight In Virginia

http://realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/us/general_election_romney_vs_obama-1171.html if you're going to post a poll, post them all. Last I saw Obama was projected to get 288 electorals. If jobs continue to be added, evenly slowly, and Obama concentrates on the Romney/GOP/Ryan plan for Medicare and SS, I think he will win again pretty easily. -

There are some very good public policy items in there that benefit Americans of all ages and sexes..... alot of women are going to like that tutorial, it's like an Old Navy advertisement...LOL Except for when she opens up up that firm, and probably hires on designers and programmers and creates jobs.... You guys are too much sometimes... LOL -
Perhaps the best article I have every read on the realities of Medicare, the realities of "Premium Support" or "Voucher" proposed by Rep. Ryan, and the underlying Notion that the Affordable Care Act is one of the key pieces of groundwork to prove that Rep. Ryan's plan can be implemented in a reponsible way for out most vulnerable citizens. Caution: There is no Left or Right Ideology muck slinging, just a evidence based write up that to me, say the Republicans and Democrats are not as radically seperated in their ideas as most of us are led to believe, but rather their ideas inter-twine. I posted the conslusion, but the whole article is fascinating. The Conclusion: The Link: http://www.brookings.edu/testimony/2012/0427_medicare_aaron.aspx

I don't care to compete for those properties or tenents, but I have friends who buy 4 plexes in dumpy neighborhoods for chump change, and make so much on the cash flow that if a unit get messed up, you just plan for repair, ie the carpets, etc. Why would you ever trust a renter to change the air filter IN YOUR PROPERTY? Why do some people let tenants paint, do repairs, etc. Just dumb. I like to give myself a reason to go see my units, and the airfilter change is a good reason. It is amazing that people are willing to live like that... sad If you take Government money via loab backing, credits, etc there is a often a stipulation to have low-income, or income qualified housing in the same development as your millions dollars homes. The new trend is to build low income housing integrated within regular and upscale housing, and studies have shown that the people who live in the low-income housing like this tend to take much better care of it (there is a guy in Chicago that championed this research and idea, can't remember his name.) I think the days of the low income apartment buildings are over....

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/05/06/magazine/romneys-former-bain-partner-makes-a-case-for-inequality.html?pagewanted=6&_r=1 Very Interesting Article, it is long but I would give it a read. Some of the basic premises puzzle me, like how someone mega rich earning $1, also allows the Middle Class to Earn $5- that would suggest a large trasfer of wealth, and the facts over the past 10-15 years don't support that- or that Banks should be bailed out by the Government no matter what... since when it Capitalism do private banks get 100% representative Government gaurantee? What I did like about the article was his notion of Risk in relation to growth- I don't know if fancy derivatives are considered considered productive investments like Venture Capital in a start-up, but I think he is right that money being put on the line for innovation and advancement is what makes this country great... I will never begrudge someone from making alot of money, and as much money a possible- that is capitalism.... but at some point you have to ask questions about the eroding capital base of the largest part of this country, the middle class working scrocks... just how much can be driven up before hard workers begin to give up because the American Dream is such a long shot? How long before it no longer makes sense to finance an education because the jobs don't pay enough to justify it? Our economy, those Big Risk ideas Conrad loves are fueled by the people who spend the money to buy those products, how long before those people are no longer willing to spend, and save their money in fear instead?

How Conservatives Are Viewed By The Left

Both of the Major Politcal Parties seem to have a preference for Big Federal Government- the Fed has expanded throughout my 35 years, whether it be an R or D in the House, R'd or D's in the Congress Etc.... my conclusion, they both have a vested interest in keeping Government right where it is. They both try to use it as a lever to push an Ideaology. The good news, is the Republicans check the Democrats, and the Democrats check Republicans. In this situation you get neither the minimialist government full privitization one side adores, or the Government Central Planning model the other is in love with.... MOST Americans are somewhere in and around the middle, trying to make their lives better, hoping for a little extra to live nicely when they are too old for this ****... We really do need a Thrid Party to emerge, ideally a Libertarian. We need someone who will has no vested in either D or R ideaology, but someone who can take the good that is working, cut the bad that is failing, and REALLY pare down Government to its intended scope. I have lost hope that either candidates that these parties put forth will be able to accomlish much. -

Abdullah wants to Hide the Bone Sex-Tarian Violence How do the intellengence agencies miss these? -
Romney better grow some thicker skin... they are already calling foul and the 2012 election campaign is still in polite mode.... I can't wait till it gets dirty, and right about October 1 America will finally tune in and get all full of election time furvor... all of the sudden everybody will be diggin in their positions, and most of them couldn't name the VP of the incumbent or challenger... LOL....

Bascially, this ^^^. That call on OBL could have gone either way, good thing we sent the best to take care of the tough business..... Team 6, hats off, again..... Some people just love being Partisan, sigh, at least it makes for good MB fodder.

The treat was and continues to be in Afghanistan... we have done alot of damage to the terror network in Afghanistan, and our focus should have been lasered there and not diluted with a 8 year engagement in Iraq. Look, no one here sits in on the National Security breifing everyday like GWB did, or Obama does- so it is easy to sit back as a citizen and criticize- but from all the reports I have seen it appears Iraq was not a serious threat... a nuisance, yes, but immediate threat, no. Someone else here can probably lay out more details.

Don't know about the Legality, but it was certainly stupid.

People said he can't run on his record and would resort to games and detractions.... he starts to run on something substantial on his record and people are up in arms? I don't understand? People seem to feel National Security is pretty important, it appears so does Barack Obama. So it's run on your record, but then you are spiking the ball by running on your record? Some of yourguys are just as bad as Supier Liberals who said they would leave the country if Bush won a second term, only the target has changed.... LOL

So Obama has raised 200M and we are 8 months out? I think I am reading this correctly.... My gut feeling is this is not what the Framers had in mind when they envisioned a representative Government, and small government at that. So Billions will be spent on elections, can you imagine how that money could really help Citizens, especially the one who are truly needy? thanks for the post

I'd actually like the list of donors for both candidates released. I think it would be fascinating to see who donated, their business, and their dirt. I think it would go along way to illustrate why 50% of voters just don't bother.

I love the heat coming in this election cycle. Are the GOP going to whimper about big tough Obama, or fight back?
