Somebody needs to be held accountable
B-Large replied to erynthered's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
sadly, you wonder if it would make a difference. I am sure there are people out there who would pop out kids and care less if they live on the streets and starve. But be that as is it may, further incentive for this behavior montarily is bad policy -

It brings back the "Will" of the People, and strips government of the we WILL do what we want regardless of taxpayer sentiment.... What is Juror#8's story? -

good to be 35, no kids, and not making the same mistakes other continue to make. Don't worry- we'll finance our way out of this one too.... -

If Europe fails, we will be back in another recession- look at what rumbling in Greece and Italy have done to our stock market and economic recovery. I think bailouts should be funded like Wars used to be, by selling bonds to American Taxpayers. This "let's do what we want anyway" and not having the taxpayers pay for it, those days are coming to a close. We still have not paid for our Wars, the Medicare D plan, the Stimulus, and a myriad of other things.... how long, as a country can we cut taxes, spend way more than we take it, and be ok with that? Put the Bailout Bonds on Sale, we will see how motivated Americans are to fund the effort... then the public can live by their choices.... sounds good to me. -

I think Obama was elected for the very fact that most of America believes that Government provides solutions to all problems..... I think that very assumption is the issue at hand.... people thought a new guy would change the fundamental issue in most bubble siutations: Government Meddling Does anyone honestly believe the Housing boom of 2002- 2007ish would have been possible without Government distortion of the real estate market? Would the boom have happened if: 1. Interest rates were not dropped to historic lows for way, way, way to long? 2. the US government did not back home financing? 3. If banks were required to keep their notes on their books, exclusively? The egregious expansion of cheap credit and backing of loan by the Federal Government fueled the issues we are seeing today, hands down. Is it Bush fault? some of it. Is it Greenspans fault? some of it. Is the Government Agencies fault? some of it. Was a it a greedy public/ financial sector's fault? Some of it. Government, in my opinion, obscured the fundamental relationship of risk with relation to asset value and most people were more than glad to look the other way as the banged out HELOCS and Refi's sp fast they're head spun. I will say it again... why is the Federal Government involved in residential property financing? It is not their job.... -

I don't see much of a difference, really. Both are fiscally reckless and net expanders of limited government. The little squabbles aside, they have the same goals in mind... money, influence and power..... -

If the demand for his cranes is good enough and has not over leveraged his operation, he should be able to hire people.... the supply of labor out there is high, and people are motivated to get back to work.... he should have leverage in pay packages and shared benefits.... My aunt has more orders that she can fill right now... she hires people because she need to get orders filled and out the door.... she is not whining about the Gubment, she is moving ahead with her business. I will not donate a dime to any political campaign..... they have plenty of the money to run their muck -
There is a real problem when Public Service/ Public Representation becomes a long term, super lucarative endeavor, not to mention career. Does it strike you as strange that a billion dollars will be spent for a man to keep a job that pays 400K? After 30 years in congress, you can't have any new ideas, and my bet is that it has been so cushy and comfy that expansion of government can be the only thought.

Ever get the feeling we are convinced we can buy/finance our way out of anything, even the relatively stable laws of economics?

after 12 years of meaningless games come every December, how much more devalued can you get, really? In no way, shape or form are the Bill obligated morally or contractually to purchase out tickets..... But you have to think come next season, NFC WEST and AFC SOUTH, how many games will Buffalo residents be willing to purchase? The Divisional games for sure, but next year could be ugly. I can't help but think of gurgling sounds around a drain next year... -
Yes, every 4 years they have all the answers.... its the experience.....

Just the re-election of a Public Official will take a 1B dollar fund.... 1 Billion Dollars..... it amazes me how a rather simple job like public service could have been hijacked and abused so badly. -
30 years in office, huh? Anybody see the potential issues with 30 years of entrenched Public Service?

Three quarters of the US economy is consumer spending.... I would suggest this is a big indicator.... Guve the Tops all the tax cuts in world, the fact remains the masses are what drive our engine.... Nothing makes me happier than morons buying crap they can't afford and don't need.... I havent spent a dime, a well spend very little..... This guy is not going to coerced into the holiday shopping and present exchange garbage.... Thank you- my avatar is a Sweet Transvestite

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/26/black-friday-sales-up-seven-percent_n_1114349.html I thought the economy was so bad, I guess consumers are certain about their prospects... Too bad all those business owners can't make decision in this uncertain environment.... Because no business ever has had to make moves in times of uncertainty....

This uncertainty thing is funny too me..... So right now is uncertain, but in 2007 everything was set in stone that banks would lend on anything, houses and commercial property would go up in value in perpetuity, and there was nothing but prosperity forever.... It was so certain.... Hmmmm.... I would say things are more certain to me now, then in boom times.... I am fairly certain that what we are experiencing now is shaky recovery with the backdrop of a still not fully corrected housing/ commercial real estate market... And sluggish consumer spending.... The uncertainty thing sure makes for general partisan campaign slogans, but I don't see it having much real world merit... There is a ding-ding-ding post.... Yep, the guys ran the economy into the ground 3 years ago have the answers.... Just like the guys in 2008 had all the answers.... It's an expensive comedy show... So, he is in the construction business so to speak? Wow, and business is not booming as commercial real estate still sits stagnant after a decade building boom and tons of vacant or foreclosed now in the aftermath..... Wow, another guy blaming someone ese for being in a bad industry at a bad time.... Maybe he should get into something else? Must be that uncertainty... Well, guy be certain of this, construction will be slow for a long time.... -
I hit it.... it wasn't that good

on some talking head show I heard some person say "Do you want a decade of pain, or a century of misery?" In a sense, he is right, which do you think our country will choose? -

So there are cuts being made to the US global military? Good start, we haven't been paying for our wars or war department escalation over the last decade.... Who'd a thought we would be able to accomplish something, basically by failing a it? We don't need to be the Earth police, time to ratchet down.... Nobody wants to pay for it anyway.... -
The Bills need to take a look at Denver......
B-Large replied to B-Large's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly, they were horrible last season and up until recently.... While Dawkins is a leader, he is a big lability in pass coverage... Broderick Bunkley, Marcus Thomas, Joe Mays and Woodyard are not exactly all stars.... But these guys have decided to step up a level or two, and they are making the playmakers, doom and Von shine..... The coaches have convinced these guys.... It possible anywhere There s no excuse for the Bills right now... That team is better than Denver, but are playing well below.... chan needs to figure it out.... -
The bills need to become nasty pricks on Defense.... At this points, a few good pops, clean or not clean would be warranted.... The Bills need to gather up film of the Raiders D, and basically Von Miller hitting mark Sanchez in the chest with his helmet.....
-
This does not look like a 5-5 team
B-Large replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They need to do something different... Run the ball, don't turn over the ball would be a nice start.... I would also get aggressive on D, we could se some sacks and turnovers.... I said this in another thread, go look at what Denver is doing.... They're not a great roster, but they are playing no mistake offense and aggressive defense.... Keep it close, don't make mistakes, chances are you will be close in they'd....
