I can't look at the Domestic Auto Industry and honestly think Success without chuckling.... While I am glad they are doing well, do they have investors to take over the taxpayers shares yet?

Which Republican candidate do the Bills most resemble?
B-Large replied to major's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Of course- the fridge superconservatives will not likely to appeal to independents, as is the same with ultra left liberals. I think Huntsman has enough moderate appeal to persuade independents, and some of the fiscally conservative Democrats... he is the most poised, well spoken and intelliegent of that GOP group, outside of Newt Gingrich, who I doubt gets the nomination. Frankly, I would weigh my vote very carefully would it be Obama/Huntsman... Again, my life quality has increased during this adminstration, so I am not sure of the trainwreckage everybody else seems to be experiencing. But then again I did just as well when Bush was in office... while politics and partisanship is fun and all, it is still up to indidvidual Americans to make their way no matter who is in office. -

The crazies never end up with the Nomination anyway.... I would really like to see Hunstman run against Obama, he is conservative yet moderate, and I think the is really a smart guy... Never have like Romney, but I imagine he will be the guy..... -

Tax cuts may make sense as a stimulative tool, but you are correct that we continue to fight our wars while not asking the voters to pay for it.... The fact that people ok ok with that fact amazes me still.... You fight, you pay.... That is a pretty basic idea.... If I have to pick one, Bachman... Seemed promising, then nosedived after many inaccurate historical references... Like Fitz, inaccurate? -

Inexpensive designer shoes are a right

It is so attractive to solve issues by changing the siuation, such as: "Lower the Cost of the Shoes, and the Kids will have to Rob less to buy them".... but that assumes the facts the the kids will not find some toher consumer products that gives the stature or Rep.... the solution probably lies in early community intervantion and solid home life. "The Banks are Greedy and Deceiftful, Take their Power away"... until you relize they're banks and the goal is to make as much money as they can, and they own your elected officials... if you don't like the big banks, pull you money out... or find a way to use their money to make youe life better or you richer... "Ban fast food, people will weigh less"- people can still be fatties if they eat salads all day.... just use exhorbinant amounts of cream dressing and wash it down with soft drinks...the solution is motivating people to get off their fat asses and walk to work, or do any kind of moving... but rarley do price controls and reglating good and bad acheive the desired result. My in-laws are white as clouds, but they make the stupidest purchases that cotinue to leave them broke and depndent and depressed. -

I would never pay $200 for sneakers... don't care who endorsed them.... but appears there is a very large market of willing customers... -

Read more: http://www.myfoxhouston.com/dpp/news/local/111228-local-activists-call-for-air-jordan-changes#ixzz1hxKQHVy8 There are numerous underlying issues here outside of price that are of concern... Seriously, $200 for shoes? I can't even the margins on those... I'll be they cost $5 pesos to make... -
While that is fascinating and wasteful.... the big three, until they addressed this country will be on a path to financial troubles. I don't think people truly care to understand the vast projected outlays on Healthcare alone in this country over the next 25 years.... it ill make expenditures in the War Department look like free lunch.... Healthcare, no matter what we do was far as funding whether is be my taxes or individual payment may break this land regardless... unless the drive to live longer and health all of the suddent becomes out of vogue...

Paranoia... Maybe... but sweeping generalizations are just easier......

Crap, in high school I ate 5 slices of the geaziest pizza on earth.... washed it down with Dr. Pepper... and was 6' 2" and 160 pounds... probably ate worse in Elementary school.... but the fact remains as kids, we moved around alot... I was never in the house watching TV or playing games.... People are fat because we don't expend calories... sure we do 30 minutes on a treadmill, but 23 1/2 hours of our days, most of us, are sitting on out fat asses...

I remember when Hollywood almost brought the financial system to the brink of disaster.... that was crazy... On a serious note, if people don't like the Financal Services sector, don't buy into it. If you want to invest in something that is pretty clean, stable and has historically for centuries been reliable... buy property.... it always has value, it rarely vanishes in an instant, it tends to be stable, and even a moron can buy a apartment complex, pay it off and make money in perpituity... Financial sevices is a big black hole I don't really understand, other than basic mortgage products. So other than a 100% match in my 403B, I put no more money into it... I buy property... I get it, understand it, know how it makes money, I can see the roof need repair and do it... most people love to whine....

I have maintained for a long time that Government eventually becomes the great Lever of the people with the resources to use it for their own gain. So, if Government is the Great Lever for the rich, wouldn't a very, very limited government be very highly desirable? The American masses have ALWAYS had the power in this country... they have just become lazy or distracted from the basic happenings of commerce and economics. - If you buy stuff that your neighbor produces, maybe he hires your kid and improves your neighboorhood and community... in short, the money build wealth and expansion for Americans in their communities. but here is where we are today: - for the most part, We want Cheap, and don't care how we get it. Alot of people hate Walmart, but those people are the very ones that have helped make the Waltons mutli-billionaires many times over. Buying Junk made in another country, just beacuse of price point is probably just flowing money into the pockets of the middle man, and that middle mans feels no obligation to reivest in people or commuinities.... You see Government has very little control over making citizens propoerous or not- in fact they are more likely to set public policy to help the Waltons, not average Americans. I am getting tired of the "poor us, bad companies" mantra... instead of bitching, up up of you fat Americans buts and support American again with your dollars...

I better s hut down the old meth lab in the cellar.... -
I think so... it was the event that has set in motion plans and activties that harm the very fabric of this great nation, and some believe will eventually lead to it ultimate collapse as a world power.... preemptive war, violation of basic US civil right an protections, expenditures far beyond imagineable in preperation for combat with real, perceived or convenient threats, the battlefield now being defined as "the globe".

“Any nation’s attempt to dictate to other nations their form of government is indefensible.” D. Eisenhower There is another great quote by Ike about an obsession with "absolute security", but I can't find it. I am glad that War is over, time to bring Americans home and concentrate on getting our domestic heads out of our butts. -
The point was to illustrate who holds the power in this country.... and that less money in the hands fo those people is bad.... you do agree with that point, no? Slow day at work..... if we're gonna come here to discuss siuations, policies and country concerns I figure articulated thought is better that partisan generlizations and quipps... I leave that to our elected officials...
