While I thought the ball could’ve had slightly better placement. I place the majority of the incompletion on Shakir. I think some others (even on this team) could’ve made the play. he did play like crap. It’s on the QB to recognize and deal with the blitz. He failed miserably in that regard….vs a team that led the league in blitzes. Part on Brady too.

Why doesn't McDermott call the Defensive plays full time??
NewEra replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
And McD doesn’t even call it very well while also being the HC from my recollection -
I agree- our DL hasn’t been much of a problem and it should continue to improve. Now we just need a DC, DBs and LBs that can cover and stop the run.

Again- avoiding the question by asking another question. What does that have to do with my question? It doesn’t matter if we know or not. I think McD calling plays on D gives us a better chance of winning vs any team. That’s what matters….not whether or not if we know who’s calling plays -
We could move the football on the ground just fine. 5 yards a carry on the game. Our problem was passing. The WR unit is Beanes fault for sure. But Monday night, the unit that he decided to invest more heavily on, the offensive line gave up a 44% pass rush win percentage; our best pass catcher and most heavily invested in playmaker was out with an oblique injury; our biggest investment at WR this offseason had 2 catches for 60 yards on 6 snaps before getting injured. Our 2 best route runners out of the game, our offensive line getting beat and our QB not processing fast enough to move the chains. I agree that Beane is to blame for the current state of our WRs, but I don’t think that he was the reason our offense was so bad. It wasn’t just the WRs not getting open. side note- I really hope Palmers injury isn’t too bad. He was about to have himself a day before his injury. Imo, he’s clearly our best outside WR and we should be making getting him the ball a priority. If he fails when given the opportunity, at least we gave it a try and on to the next plan. have you watched him run routes in the all 22? I think he’s real smooth and his transitions into cuts seem effortless for a guy his size. Thoughts on him being our go to WR? Or do you think the top 20 type corners will swallow him up?

That’s not what we’re talking about. Stay on topic. Babich sucks. We all know that by now. Would you prefer Babich call plays bs KC in the playoffs or McD? Because it’s likely going to be one of them unless they give Nielsen the headset -
lol- I’m stanning for McD? Care to show the quote/s? I’ve been on record for 2 years saying I’d be ok with firing McD. I’ve been playing the fence with him for quite awhile. I think he’s a good head coach that has improved in that aspect since he’s been here. I’m not a fan of his defensive scheme and I’m not sure if he’ll ever be able to beat Reid and Spags in the playoffs. I’m also not sure that we would hire someone better than him if we fired him……but I’d be willing to roll the dice.

But the defense in the 2nd half was 💯 markedly better, which is the point of this thread. But the point of your post is to single out one drive. if McD did take over calling plays in the 2nd half, I pray he continues to do so. The defense was much better in the 2nd. Too bad the offense sucked the entire game -

And it was still markedly better. Gave up 330 yard and 21 points in the 1st half. 3 points 110 yards in the 2nd half -

Because he was focused on being the best head coach he could be in my opinion The defensive performance in the 2nd was most definitely markedly better than the first. -
Would you want to see Josh play hardball with the organization?

Oh man- I’m right there with ya (minus the sizable wager part 😂). I win 50 if the bills win the division and lose $200 if we don’t -

I think our floor with a bad coach (and it’s possible that a coach that we hire is a bad coach, especially if it’s a coordinator that has never coached), is not making the playoffs. Especially playing the afc west and nfc north next season. -
lol. So funny how you get so defensive any time anyone says anything negative about 17. It’s ok to say that he sucked on Monday. If he played like that every game, we wouldn’t make the playoffs. We might lose every game. Yes, I agree, he’s that good and that important to our success. Beane and McD both suck, I know, I’ve heard it a million times over the last 10 days. yes- you’re right, if he played worse than great vs Baltimore, we lose. What does that have to do with the Atlanta game. regarding the last paragraph….. I made a typo. I meant to say that Josh Allen wasn’t the reason we lost vs Atlanta, but if he had played a better than poor game, we may have won. My bad. I feel like Brady, Babich and McD were the biggest factor in the loss brady- bad play calling and not getting cook involved in the pass game babich- let’s be real, he has done a terrible job in 80%+ of his game. McDermott- penalties fall in the HC. Penalties killled us. Stupid penalties. Shout to to Rapp for being the worst player on the field. Yet again.

Successful coordinators can be much worse than McD as a head coach and it’s certainly possible that our team is worse than it is now with one of them….. or proven competent coaches. -
I guess Joe Marino doesn’t understand progressions or how football works. He pointed out the progressions part of it and he also pointed out obvious bad decisions. yes- Brady has been bad. He doesn’t get a pass. Allen also played a poorly and made bad decisions throughout the game. It’s ok to admit when that happens….because it does. Josh Allen wasn’t the reason we lost the game but if he played better than poor, we probably win the game.
