Refs suck- they aren’t the reason we lost- but they are part of the reason we lost. Sucks that they are rarely one of the reasons that we win. Part that gets me most: the ref that had a clear view of the ball on the 4th down stop had it as a 1st down. The ref that had a clear view of Josh’s BACK called it short. Yet somehow- the ref that couldn’t see the ball AT ALL is the one whos opinion stands- while the other ref just stands there- jones Offside on 2 4th downs. One of which he made a huge difference. Yet Ed gets called OS on a play where he causes a fumble. the worthy catch- if those are the rules- the rules need to be changed. KC runs a play after the “catch” and they lose yards- no whistle on the play- yet they negate the play and give us a challenge. Ever see that before? Insurance flag laying on the ground in case Kincaid catches the ball- what’s the rule regarding the 2:00 warning and why were they allowed to let it hit 0. Does the game clock not have 0.0? Only the play clock? it’s just impossible to ignore that those referee decisions hurt our chances to win the game. They aren’t the reason we lost- there is never one reason a team loses a game imo, just a compilation of factors.

Hamlin won’t be shown the door- he’s a free agent. Von will likely be shown the door- but I don’t think it will happen this week. Hoping Smiley is gone. Don’t see Milano being cut- doesn’t make sense imo. I don’t see anything else happening.

I’d place my vote for: change is high risk- I doubt anyone currently available would be able to beat Reid and Spags- so I’d keep McD another season. I would have fired him for Ben Johnson It’s not like we’re losing to meh teams in the playoffs. We’re losing to the best team in the league 4 out of 5 years (and Burrow the other). It’s a tough road in the AFC

I believe the chiefs have made enough plays outside of the refs calls to give them credit where it’s due. They have the best situational defensive play caller in the league and it usually shows up at a high rate in the 4th qtr. Mahomes has Reid to steer him right while having enough athleticism and feel to always make a play when needed edit: but the refs have helped them along the way- they certainly benefitted more from close calls than we did last games. Calls that could go either way- went their way this game

I hear ya- but it’s turned out that building a great culture has been his greatest attribute as a HC. That’s why he’s here now imo. Not because of his defensive prowess. He’s no Spags when it comes to defensive play calling

Agreed. Watching the bronco playoff game, I was thinking they gave Denver the shaft on a handful of spots. We got the shaft yesterday. it didn’t lose the game for us- it favorable spots may have changed the outcome I wouldn’t go that far- but I agree to an extent.

I bundle it all into the “got lucky”- those are the breaks. KC got them again. I don’t think it was on purpose. I just think that’s the way things shook out. Eager to watch the game where we get those breaks vs KC in the playoffs. The odds of that happening should be improving after each game we don’t get them. if we were on the other end of some of those calls- or even one - we may be playing in 2 weeks. We’ll never know

It is. It’s also a microcosm of Spags. This is what he does. Makes great play calls in huge spots and they help win them games. We’re playing an all time dynasty and coming up just short. While it some say it’s an indictment of McDermott not being good enough- some may say it’s just Reid and Spags being better than everyone else. We’ll find out in 2 weeks. I think the matchups favor Philly. Coaching matchup KC - but Fangio is interesting

Watching AJ play 70% of the snaps and not even sniff Mahomes has me thinking that a stud pass rusher would’ve made a difference. Our defense got stops when we got sacks. AJ was invisible to my eye. Maybe I wasn’t keying in enough

If a stud pass rusher isn’t going to make this defense any better- then I’d agree with you. i don’t believe that to be the case though. Pass rush is the most important aspect of football other than QB play imo. who are you eyeing to be that guy? Tee Higgins? And are there any FA’s, other than Higgin, better than cooper? Darius Slayton is the only other guy that really gives us the dimension we need. Trade up in the draft McMillan or Burden? As of now- I kinda of like Jalen Royals but he’s really only a deep threat atm

Didn’t we already have that guy this year in cooper? I hope we can replace him with someone better- but who? We clearly need a boundary guy (if cooper leaves). But if we bring him back- I doubt we add anyone else…. Especially if we (hopefully) bring Hollins back. do you have your eye on anyone in particular to replace Cooper? Only 2 FA WRs look to be upgrades over him- Higgins and Godwin- and Godwin is best in the slot imo. I always liked the thought of Slayton. He might not have the production, but he has a skill set we could use. Any possible trade targets? Guys just need to make plays when we need them to. The ball hits the hands of very capable players and they fail (diggs and Kincaid esp). KC always executes when they need to and we don’t. Garrett is definitely #1 on my want list. my value FA is the same as the last 2 years, Calais Campbell (if he doesn’t retire). It would probably cost more than the 2M he got in Miami last season to come to the cold, but he can still make an impact at a affordable price

“Desperately” meanwhile we were yet again a couple plays short of beating the best dynasty in nfl history. Adding one of each would definitely increase our chances of getting over the top. our offense was one of the best in the league. Our defense was not even close and gave up 32 to a team that hadn’t scored that much all season while our offense had a solid day vs a good defense. pass rush >>>>>>> everything else.

Yes- our defense sucks- but if we don’t lose Benford, get stuffed on Tush pushes, drop passes on 4th and 5 and get the short end of the stick on spots and calls. i don’t believe the breaks will always fall in their favor. They create a lot of their break by executing plays- but they also take advantage of their luck. imagine if mcduffie had gotten injured instead of Benford. If the KC line judge had taken the ball and spotted instead of the ref that had joshes back to him? If Kincaid caught the dam ball. I don’t believe that the KC mystique is so good that we can’t beat them in the playoffs. We just haven’t yet. But we will. the mcd haters will just have to be sad and cry about him for another year and hope that their wrong. The others will be just as fired up for next season as ever
