I agree with this. After renegotiation, we can’t get out of knoxs contract til after next season. So two years running a heavy dose of 12. Heavy sets that have multiple threats in the pass game. Keeping the opposition guessing. Confusion is the key. Can Brady cause that confusion? That’ll probably have more influence on our success than anything else not named Josh Allen. i just hope Kincaid can continue to get bigger and stronger every season. He’s going to take a pounding. In college, he routinely showed off his the ability to avoid big hits. He didn’t last season. He thought he was Earl Campbell at times. Currently suffering from injury PTSD 😢 Regarding Coleman- a couple thoughts- I see him kind of like Elam. Elam was a press man corner with not much zone exp. They planned on developing his Zone ability in time due to his physical being. Keon has had his best separation out of the slot. We don’t need another slot, we need an outside guy. but because he has the physical attributes they desire on the outside (specifically- run blocking size) they are hoping he can be developed. Hopefully it won’t take as long as Elam. - if he can’t develop into someone that can get separation deep, Josh is happy to have a guy that can (hopefully) be open even when covered- if he can throw it to a spot only Coleman can reach. -I think he’s really going to shine in scramble drill plays.

McDermott: "MVS & Samuel good chance of Week 1 return"
NewEra replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
People are freaking out because severe cases of turf toe can take months to heal and could've hampered him the entire season. I hadn’t seen anything specific regarding the severity. With our recent rash of injuries and ptsd always looming, I was one of those freaking out over this injury. The last thing this O needs is to lose our fastest WR. Until I see the kid play well, I’ll be a bit worried. -
I think you’re rather measured- definitely not a wide eyed optimist. Always give your honest take, sometimes positive, sometimes not. 👍🏻

you also replied to me- and I was quoting this “ It’s not even close . Leanings - more like egregious imbalance. They spend a TON of their free agent $ on defense. And the top 1-4 rounds of picks are heavily slanted on D” Yes…. And we literally used those draft picks to get a WR- we USED 4 picks to get 1 WR and 1 lesser pick. He didn’t say use draft picks to draft defensive players. He said the top 4 rounds of picks are heavily slanted on D. This conversation is about resource allocation and how we allocate more in defense. Heavily more. We allocated those 4 picks for 1 WR. Yet, you don’t consider them. And it’s ridiculous edit: I do agree that I wish we would have used more resources on WR- but the draft pick allocation isn’t as heavily slanted as is perceived by some.

I think MJD had more thump to him. Davis is more glide imo

That’s how I see it too

Because it looks as if our roster took a step back this year, which sometimes happens in the salary cap era. People (me included) feel that we should have drafted at least 2 WRs in a stacked WR class.

Our offense is better in 2024 if 2 guys take a step forward

Those were my thoughts in recent weeks. I will be looking to draft Shakir in every league. Kincaid is my guy and think he’ll be an elite superstar my optimism took a slight hit with the news of Samuels turf toe (and a super slight hit) with the MVS injury. Turf toe can be a terrible injury for WRs that lingers. He’s the best speed option we have. MVS is the next best speed option (and maybe our best) speed option on the outside. What scares me most is that we have these injuries so early in the season without even playing a real game. Our recent injury history has given me ptsd and I’m worried that it’s about to happen again. I still think we can be a very good offense, but now, more than ever, we need a great play caller. I also think the run game will need to be efficient and likely the catalyst for the pass games success. -
It was a bad throw. Could he have caught it? Yes. Would we be upset if he didn’t catch it in a regular season/playoffs? Absolutely. Was it a bad throw? Yup

Sorry to hear that my guy. I have almost similar thoughts, but they really only surround 4 things- - Joe Brady - Bobby Babich - Injuries - Tyler Bass - i feel that a good OC can make what we have into a championship caliber offense- remember, we have Josh Allen. Not sure if Brady is a good OC yet. I think a healthy Kincaid, Knox, Shakir, Samuel, Keon, Hollins , Cook, Davis are good enough with 17 as long as the OL is solid - I have no clue how good of a DC Babich is/will be. - neither the OC or the DC have much of a chance if the injuries continue to mount. - playoff games sometimes come down to FG kickers- I don’t have any confidence in the once reliable Bass.

No, he just thinks the WRs are the worst we’ve have in the last 40 years. But he knows that Josh Allen is elite and has the ability to give this team a chance

Seriously- Worthy is out there getting passes from Mahomes in August, while Keon is getting passes from Falsebisky and people acting like it means something. worthy hasn’t had time to get injured and Keon hasn’t played with qb1. I feel that Keon will show his worth come winter. I wasn’t opposed to drafting worthy due to his speed, but considering our luck with injuries, I felt more comfortable after the draft knowing we have a physical specimen that can be a presence in the red zone, the run game and in the locker room.

Andreessen will make the team - UPDATE: he made it

He really was impressive in the box. Would love to see him tested in coverage this week. If he can be adequate, he could be a contributor in the near future. Looks like he has the juice for it and I bet he’s going to attack his improvement in that area. -
This could really put a damper in our offense. Ffs- this is ridiculous.
-
Correct- I guess the HoF title means a lot more to you than it does to me. I really just look at current player ability. I see Josh as very close to Mahomes, with the ability to be better on any given day. I think the current ability of Kincaid is very close to the current ability of Travis Kelce. Maybe not as good, but not that far off. That’s what’s on the field Sundays- Kcs playcalling >>>> Buffalos

Never stops- sigh

Meanwhile….the entire league made KC look good by not signing him for 2 seasons.
