  1. I love this kid. Losing Milano is excruciating but Bernard’s existence give me hope. Glad I was so wrong about this pick.
  2. Seeing Solomon on there is a bummer. I’m really excited about this kid. We might not see him until a DE inevitably gets injured
  3. Void of talent….: lol. Rousseau is about to get paid 20M+, ed, Daquan, Bernard, benford, Douglas, Taron are all very good players. We only look void of talent if you don’t know talent. We aren’t as talented in years past. Our safeties are questionable as is Milano replacement. There are holes and I think we will take a slight step back statistically (mostly due to a tougher schedule). I don’t think we are void of talent. Not even close
  4. Yeah, maybe we should reward crappy players for telling the truth. Sounds like a great business decision. yeah- he just hired him so he can sacrifice him. Keep thinking that
  5. Listen to it again- Levi said it was a good play call. He also said that he usually looks at where the other guys are….but he didn’t this time. On the most important play of his career….. he decides not to do he does on every other play…. again. McDermott deserves a lot of blame for the loss 💯—- but like I’ve been saying - it’s not ONLY on him. You disagree- cool
  6. Yeah- common sense to kick the ball in play ends the game. bad play calling on D too. But also bad execution. you mention unnamed players saying McDermott screwed up the kickoff call, well there’s a named player that says he screwed up on defensive execution. Like mcd had stated. you might be right about McDermott being Daboll or Frazier if he didn’t have Allen. I’m not saying he’s great- I’m just not jumping to ridiculous conclusions because I don’t like the guy
  7. The kickoff was the biggest bonehead play of them all. Kickoff in bounds and they only have one play.
  8. Who’s defending mcd’s defensive play calls in 13 seconds? He blew it. 💯 - I would’ve been fine if we had fired him after the last 2 seasons (as long as we had hired Ben Johnson as HC). I just don’t think every coaching hire he makes is to make the scapegoats in order to keep his job….like some do I don’t know who was to blame for the kickoff. That’s why I said what I said. You apparently think that “a number of players off the record” is the gospel. You should know better. which article did you take the quotes from? I thought we were supposed to post links when taking such large excepts. Sure looks like an anti-mcd article.
  9. Why didn’t Belichick? Why didn’t Tomlin? 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’m not a head coach. There aren’t very many defensive head coaches that exclusively called all of the defensive plays to my knowledge Funny that he uses Farwell as his example after one of the biggest boneheaded gaffes in coaching history (if he in fact didn’t tell his kicker to kick it in bounds).
  10. Which defensive HCs should he emulate? Bill Belichick? The best coach ever that rarely called his defensive plays? Mike tomlin? Who sometimes calls plays and sometimes not? Dan Quinn? Who said he’s not calling plays this season. He’s a defensive head coach- those are the guys he should be compared to. Which other defensive minded head coaches always called their own plays? Which coaches should he emulate? You act as if there aren’t many plausible reasons for him not to call the plays- — it’s takes away from his head coaching duties. — the main reason he called plays last year is because he thought he was their best option not because he wanted to do it long term — he’s been mentoring a young defensive mind that he likes and thinks that he’s finally ready after a year of watching McD calls plays. as if the only reason McD would hand play calling duties to his DC is because “McD smells something sour brewing and he's heading from the kitchen to the living room”….. and needs a sacrificial lamb. Yeah, that’s the only reason he would do that 🙄
  11. Solid comp. I think Shakir is a bigger threat after the catch but not by much.
  12. Labor Day weekend is usually my birthday weekend- I’m usually on vacation and that’s why the opening weekend was pushed back. Sorry all
  13. Lol- incorrect. You’re too funny. I’m not looking for comps online, yet trying to make my own comp. I don’t see Beasley as a comp other than arms and slot play. Beasley is much smaller, weaker and worse rac. Shakir is a threat with the ball in his hand and it’s one of his strong points. If someone is a comp yo him, rac ability has to be a strong point for them as well imo. Kupp, I can get on board with considering route running, size and hands. yes I know, Gabe, foster and Burkett were true outside guys- which is just one of the reasons they don’t belong in a reply to the post you quoted….. other than if you’re just looking for a way to dump on Shakir. He wasn’t looking for a statistical/production/career comparison….. yet thats what you gave him. No mention of Kupp or Beasley because those would be positive
  14. Agreed- the pacific NW has taken a big turn for the worse over the last 5 years despite its ridiculous real estate prices.
  15. The guy is talking about past and present comps- and you bring up Gabe Davis and Chris Burkett. As if that is the kind of comp he’s looking for. Shakir is nothing like either of those guys- but…..stats, 4th option, one year wonders. Any chance to take a dump @Sammy Watkins' Rib It’s tough to find good comparisons for Shakir due to his squatty dimensions (long torso, short legs, short arms). I think you have to look at attributes. He has great footwork and body control, very good hands, feel for the zone and RAC ability. one WR that comes to mind is a stronger and quicker version of Doug Baldwin. Not a super athlete but plenty athletic. Not super fast, but plenty fast enough. Hands, separation, smarts. Looking at current WRs, while he’s not as good, another guy I liken him to is Amon-Ra St Brown. St Brown lite. Similar dimensions- Squatty, strong, best in the slot, good rac, separation and hands.
  16. Is McD moving to Southeast Asia too?
  17. Agreed- pass rush hasn’t shown up. Rousseau and Oliver are very good players that could become great….but they need to make plays when we need them to. Before his injury, Von did that for us. He was a closer and won games for us in the 4th qtr. That fateful thanksgiving day game had such a monumental negative impact on our 22 and 23 seasons. Rousseau has improved every season and this season looks no different. He looked like a monster vs Pittsburgh and has all the physical ability to become elite. The guy will make 28m+ aav if he can show out in this upcoming playoff. If our pash rush doesn’t show up in the playoffs this year, our season will undoubtedly end in the same fashion. An L.
  18. Top 5. Yeah, he’s also a top 30. Top 2.
  19. He gave you your answer. Use your brain. What is gained in asking a question when the answer was already given?
  20. Sorry- My post was sarcasm -
  21. You should know better by now! He’s only a promote from within guy so he can sacrifice the guys he promotes in order to save his job. Get with it!
  22. No, I don’t act like this hasn’t come up here many times- I act like the people who believe this to be true are idiots.
  23. Because he thinks he’s a bright young mind that knows his system? It’s not as if he wasn’t getting interest around the league after already being interviewed by Miami, NYG and the packers. Why would they even interview him…..he’s never called plays. But that makes too much sense to be true…..read between the lines, he only hired him as a scapegoat. Got it Reaffirmation that you are that guy.
