The chatter around the Worthy trade isn't rational

It was. And will continue to be. Until he gets wrecked -
That may be true- doesn’t mean I want to pay a RT what Spencer brown is worth

The chatter around the Worthy trade isn't rational
NewEra replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I had zero doubts that he would succeed in KC. Perfect landing spot for him. Elite QB. Elite play caller. Other great playmakers around him. He is going to be a big play guy and teams will have to game plan for him. The question is, can he stay healthy? That was the only reason I didn’t want to draft him and I have my doubts that he’ll be able to avoid getting demolished every season. Time will tell, but when he’s healthy, watch the efff out. Game changing speed -
Spot on my friend

Oh I know. I’m expecting 17-18

This will be the key to our entire season on offense and defense.

If it’s over 12M a year I’m gonna be bummed. Have a feeling it’s way more that 12M a year. Right tackles….not a fan of paying them big bucks

Yeah- coverage is where I’m worried. But at least he has the movement skills to help make up for his mental deficiencies in zone. Eager to watch him develop

lol. Refraining from reading this thread. I can only imagine the meltdowns -
What's the tastiest O/U for this C-note burning a hole in my pocket?

I think they’ll be in the mix -
I agree, I feel they have as well, minus WR. Tough to stay on top of every position with limited resources though. Just sucks that he cut the most corners at such a key position.
-
In hindsight, they did keep them too long, but I don’t see how you can blame them for keeping poyer and Hyde last year. What were the options last year? Use a draft pick on a S and/or bring in 2 brand new guys that don’t know the system. In this case, they gave rapp a year to get accustomed. I think that was a good idea. I just don’t love the player. I do love Bishop though. Other than that small point, I agree with your post wholeheartedly. Lots of big decisions will loom every year from now on

Week 1 - Cardinals at Bills - Game Week Thread

I’d add to that the new OC and DC. I’m a big believer that those two coaching positions are vital to most teams’ success. Some HCs have the ability to run an offense regardless of his OC. Not our HC. Proper scheming and having the ability to get everyone to focus and be on the same page like a cohesive unit. What will change on O with Brady being the brains behind the entire offense from the start? Is Babich the real deal? Groomed his entire life for this moment. What do we have in this kid? How will our defense perform on 3rd down? Two young coordinators - I think they’ll have a bigger impact on our potential success (or failure) than everything other than JA. -
Do we know when the FO had made up their mind that they wanted to trade him? Was it that week? That month or perhaps towards last seasons end? Based on the offense we saw once Brady took over, it’s conceivable that they were trying to trade him prior to the execution, but they weren’t able to get what they thought was good value. Maybe- maybe not. Maybe Diggs forced it that week- Either way, other than draft picks, there weren’t many resources available. It’s not like they didn’t spend a fair amount of their cap space on Samuel. love the rest of your post 🤪

Me too, but I didn’t think he’d be the pick. I wanted Ladd, Mitchell or my crush Polk. Wasn’t happy with the pick of Coleman. Seeing who the person is has helped me come around to it. Great kid and can be a real weapon if he’s used correctly. Only going to get stronger and better at running routes. I agree….as long as his body can hold up.
-
I don’t know if that’s necessarily the case but to each their own. I think it’s better stated that they didn’t have a plan that most people would agree is a good plan. Me included. I was hoping to somehow replace Diggs with an upper echelon WR, which is easier said than done considering our cap sitch. I didn’t think the chiefs had a good plan for replacing Tyreek either. I think the plan on offense is to run more 12 personnel and become more difficult to defend by disguising the run and pass. Having the ability to run multiple designs with different combinations of players using their skillets. Not so much the meta x,y,z- rather lots of bunch and play action to keep the d off balance. Having WRs with the ability to run block (which they all have). Brady had access to an elite WR last season and didn’t utilize him very much. Certainly didn’t get the best out of him. Cap/age transition offseason can be devastating for some teams. I don’t see us being one of those teams. We play a lot of very good teams this year, I see our season being similar to last year- making the playoffs/winning the division will excruciating and down to the wire. If that turns out to be the case, the plan couldn’t be that bad. We’d be right back where we were last season

Do you think that’s the reason he was traded?

Obv this season can’t be regarded as their best offense because it hasn’t taken place….. Hill gone and is replaced by rice, worthy and brown. 3 potentially very good playmakers plus an upgrade at RB with Pacheco. Juju is also capable. Certainly capable of being better imo. Reid and Mahomes continue to grow together. Srsly -

For once I agree with you 😉 I think the card +6 are a great bet and our d could have it’s hands full. They have talented playmakers and I like their scheme on D (but a terrible front 7 imo). My hope is that we can be an efficient run offense that opens up big plays with play action (and Josh’s elite ability). If we can’t run efficiently, it could be a long day of watching Kyler run around wearing out our D. if we can’t run, do we have the ability to pivot? Can the D, led by its new DC (aka the lamb), save the O if it struggles? Lots of unknowns on both sides of the ball for us….as well as Az. It’s an interesting first game and I think some people might be looking a team with some potentially great playmakers. Murray, harrison and McBride could be special. Connor and Benson are a nice 1-2. I could see this ending in several different ways -

Great start to the season game. I’m excited for this one. Ravens in year 2 under Monken. The addition of Henry could be a game changer for them if he still has the juice. I’m not a Lamar believer come playoffs but I was never a Nick Foles believer either. If their OL plays well, they could be really tough. eff the chiefs just like I used to eff the pats. Dealing with elite HC - QB combos for 20+ in a row sucks. The pats didn’t win the SB every year. I don’t think the chiefs will either. They may have their best offense yet this year, but they’ll need to avoid key injuries again I think their luck runs out this season in that department. They’re due -
I hope so. I love watching Dorian play. Could be a baller for sure. Hopefully he isn’t as reckless in year 2.

Definitely- just disappointed he’s starting his career off not being to practice and being injured.
