What does Elam and a pick get you in this market?
NewEra replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
lol- are you serious? You’re insinuating that they would play lesser player in a committee because he’s under contract next season? That’s not how things work. Douglas is better. Benford is better. They give us the best chance to win this season. Then next season, they see what happens. They aren’t going to play Elam at slot or S because they aren’t idiots. That’s not his game. A terrible fit in both spots. He’s a boundary corner and that’s it. there is no committee because Benford and Douglas have proven to be VERY GOOD. I’m not saying Elam is their ride or die cb2 for 2025. I’m saying that he’s our best backup boundary corner in 24 and a possible starter in 2025. you’re saying all this weird stuff like Elam would be in a committee this season if he was their guy in 25 and are predicting that they trade for Dane Jackson if our starters get hurt. Oblivious to the fact that they can only make trades for another 8 days. So if they get hurt THIS week, they trade for Dane Jackson….. and then what happens if they get hurt in 2 weeks? I’m done here. Have fun -

I’m not sure. It’s just my opinion. I don’t think any team in the nfl has a three year plan in 2024. If you suck for 4 straight years, the GM gets the axe. Ran was hired in 2023. Yes….that’s my point -

Why? Because benford and Douglas are better and Elam can’t play slot or S? -

Much more than Ingram. I don’t think Elam has been an awful corner and he’s made some nice clutch plays. I don’t hate him as much as most. Plus he’s under contract for next season. Meanwhile Douglas is not. -
Yeah- he caught a pass right to him while being covered by no one as the safety ran right by him like an idiot. It’s a miracle that he gets so much credit for the oppositions suck

I don’t think the titans are interested in trading Simmons. I don’t think the browns are interested in trading Garrett. I don’t want teller as a rental and I’m not sure how much we’d owe him next season if we kept him. i don’t know enough about the saints D scheme but to know if Matheiu would be a quick fit in our system. If he is, I’d do it. I love Slayton, but I’d only trade for him if he were on the team next season and beyond. He’s just depth on this team and our WRs don’t have much injury history. meanwhile, Benford has injury history. If he goes out, who’s up next? Ingram? He’s been solid as a dime safety but I do t trust him as CB2 come playoffs. -
He was low key Aaron Judge. Great in the regular season. Nowhere to be found in the playoffs. Judge might be the biggest playoff bum in MLB history. Diggs wasn’t as good of a regular season stud and not as big of a playoff bust. Hence the low key

I'm really starting to love this WR room. We quietly got better

But, but, but stats >>>>>> everything. and there’s a stat to prove almost any side of any argument. TSW in a nutshell -
Diontae Johnson to the Ravens (now claimed by Houston)

And the nfc just sitting there twiddling their thumbs like they do every offseason and trade deadline. Seems like McVay is the only one looking to win super bowls over there lol- you don’t know much about WRs apparently -

And nonsense. rapp has been better than mustache this season. Long term, things may change but Rapp has been pretty good this year. And nonsense. rapp has been better than mustache this season. Long term, things may change but Rapp has been pretty good this year. -
Khalil Mack trade - what would it take?

Yes, he thinks they would make a difference. That’s not his point. His point is, if Bernard and Milano are both healthy at the same time, chances are, that another good player (or more) will be injured

Khalil Mack trade - what would it take?
NewEra replied to MiracleAtRich1393's topic in The Stadium Wall
Uhoh- might be time for you to get glasses!! 😉. He doesn’t have 1.5 sacks. He had 1.5 in week 1 -
Most likely has to do with watching Josh play vs the jets week 1 last year. While also watching Zach Wilson convert huge 3rd downs against us. I don’t think there is anyone who thought AR would be less successful than Wilson if healthy. Most people also assumed Reddick would be playing. I still thought we were the better team, but the Jets being THIS bad, worse than last season, is unexpected imo.

Makes sense now 👍🏻

Why would trading for him be in spite of us? Were we trying to land him? Other than their loss to us, I think Denver will take them out week 18 in Denver. Pittsburgh also has a solid chance. Might be the 2 best defenses in the league to end the season.

Copy that. you think it’ll cost a 2nd or 3rd I assume? -

Meaning what? You wouldn’t even trade a 6th rd pick for him? I don’t think he’s as bad as you’re making him out to be -

And he was the recipient of a Mahomes WWE shoulder check in the end zone. Was crumpled. Inwatch every Niners game. He’s been better than his PFF grade but not great. I prefer Bishops upside. Hopefully he has mental ability to become the S that McDermott envisioned -
Who has been the best Bills player not named Josh Allen?
NewEra replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
1-Benford 2-Douglas They aren't 1 and 2, but their impact has been equal to them being 1 and 2. I feel like the only success opposing offenses have throwing the ball is over the middle (at cam, the S and LBs) or to their RBs, Our corners have been stellar on the outside and vs the run. Taron has been great as well, but time missed excludes him from the list. Our CBs are our best unit other than QB. Enjoy them this season 3- Cook- His explosion through the hole and decisiveness has me hard. He looks like a back worthy of getting paid. Just not by us. Ray has been great in his own right, but cooks explosion through the hole just looks so special to me this season 4- Shakir- He’s one of the top slot WRs in the league. The reporter that compared him to a Beasley with great YAC hit the nail on the head imo. That’s what he reminds me of. My 2nd favorite play of the game (Keons TD being my favorite) yesterday was his catch and run where he setup Witherspoon and took him to the woodshed. He’s so nasty in the open field and I’m so confident he’s going to beat the first tackler on almost every tough. T5- Greg Rousseau- I don’t get enamored by sack stats like some. He’s a top 5 player on the teams T5- Offensive line run blocking- I took the easy way out but they’ve been great and deserve a mention. Dawkins has been our best OL, but our run blocking across the board has been great minus a game or 2. The OL is one of the biggest reasons Cook is towards the top of the list. -
Gtd money is the only thing that matters and Houston gave him all of that this season. I don’t think he took less money. Leaving Buffalo to join a team with a better SB chance, maybe. Not sure what would’ve happened if they would’ve traded him to a lesser team than Buffalo. I don’t think he forced a trade to Houston specifically

The haul you proposed is ridiculously high for 9 games. I’d trade a 4th. Maybe a 3rd in 26. He’s playing pretty good again this season. Those that act like he’s washed up and done don’t know what they are talking about. He’s not the player he was but he’d be a nice addition. We’d have 5 good DE’s (GR, von, Aj, smoot and Mack). Start him opposite Rousseau. I think Aj and Von would be an amazing with limited snaps. Smoot out play in run downs and move inside to DT on passing down.
