Great post. The only place where we disagree is them being a top 10 unit. I think they can be a top 10 unit…..but I think they’re closer to 12-18. We saw how devastating an OL injury can be and how our OL play suffered and crippled out offense. Our run blocking was putrid and left us one dimensional. I like the additions and feel much more comfortable with our depth. If we face injuries, quessenberry and Van rotens play could decide our fate. If their play in relief is = to Spencer Browns play @ RT….. we’re doomed if they have to play long term. injuries are inevitable along the OL. The severity of our OL injuries will play a role in our success/failure based on our backups play I think they can be a top 10 unit thanks to Kromer moreso than our talent.

Word. Never take away his legs… we just CAN’T use him the way we did vs Atlanta and the jets all season. If we do, we’ll likely take years off of his career
-
And limiting his legs during the regular season is isn’t reckless either. It’s smart. We need him for 15 more years…..not 5. If we can’t make the playoffs in this division this season without Josh getting 10+ carries a game, we shouldn’t be worrying about winning the SB. We aren’t that good. But…..we are that good. Josh is that good. He should be preserved in the regular season. That doesn’t mean he shouldn’t run. He should. But his runs should be limited to scrambles as opposed to designed runs. Then unleash him in the playoffs. Unleashing him all season allows opposing defenses the opportunity to trial and error ways to stop his running. anyway, agree to disagree.

Simms Concludes his top 40 qb's. Allen top dog.

And Tremaine as 61st rated Lb out of 87. So is PFF worthy of mentioning or not? In tremaines case, you’ve made it known that pff is nonsense. Either you use PFF to support your ideas or you don’t. Saying it’s far from the be-all and end-all is just a wishy washy way to say that you’d like to use off when it suits your agenda. Pick a side. -
The best chance of doing so is utilizing his legs….in the playoffs. If they were smart, they’d have 2 different offenses. 1: Regular season offense, where they limit his runs to passing play scrambles and very important 3rd downs. Playoff offense:

Love me some Poyer, but at his age, I wouldn’t add on more than 2 years 25M. And that might be a bit steep. Minkah got big bucks —-but he’s also 25, 6 years younger.
-
The people that have been watching him in practice have been talking him up. Those same people have been talking about how OJ Howard looks meh. They aren’t just saying nice things because they’re on the Bills. They’re saying nice things because he’s looked good in OTA’s. Some are drinking the offseason koolaid. Some posters are doing what they always do, poop on the koolaid drinkers. It’s a vicious cycle kept alive by you. Thanks for your poop

Buffalo: Dion Dawkins for the Players Tribune
NewEra replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s been a joy watching this young man grow. -
He was also healthy when we played them in October and shut them down for the most part. It might be sustainable for a year, but the more he runs, the shorter his career will likely be.
-
Sure thing man. Crowder definitely would’ve put up much better numbers in Buffalo than in Ny with equal snaps. And Beasleys numbers would’ve been much less in NY than his numbers in Buffalo. Ain’t no doubt.
-
That IS one way that it can work. There isn’t ONE way that it works. I’ve stated in other threads that we can overcome an injury to Diggs or Davis as we stand, but we’ll have to change things up and win in different ways….rather than the way that we are currently planning to win. I think it would be a better choice to upgrade WR and overcome and keep trucking with the original game plan.
-
Or maybe he’s too busy working. Cutting up clips and watching tape as opposed to read TSW. Not sure why you’d bash on Turner. He’s a little biased towards the bills, but he knows his stuff and I enjoy all of his stuff, even if I disagree with some things that he says. anthony prohaska on the other hand. I find his voice annoying. His intro to his show is the most cringe worthy intro on yt imo. Well spoken and a good guy, but I’m not a fan of the delivery or his content.

Hope the bus is ok
-
Yeah….that WAS part of it…. Not really sure what else has to be said. The Rams lost their #2 WR and won a super bowl…. It’s not about matching production. It’s about winning the super bowl. Literally every topic is a nitpicking talking point every offseason. This is entertainment. if you’re happy with our depth at outside WR, good for you. Many aren’t, myself included. It’s ok to disagree
-
Cmon man. Don’t act like the QB/ OL and offensive play callers have given crowder even the slightest chance to keep up with Beasley statistically. If we had signed crowder and the jets would’ve signed Beasley their stats would’ve been reversed. And you know thisssss, man. edit: and if you don’t know this, I’ve clearly given you too much credit and you still have much to learn. But….you know this

It’s OTA’s….. temper young padawan C1 isn’t a “he”. If it were a he, it would be Erik Turner. You should address this Twitter account as Greg Tompsett.
-
Right….meanwhile, after the AFCCG loss to the chiefs two years ago, all I read on here was “our WRs were hurt, that’s why our offense stunk”. They weren’t wrong. Our all world QB couldn’t do anything that game. our passing game is our bread and butter. We should have a better outside wr3 imo. We shall see
-
They need to be able to get off the line. I don’t know if McKenzie can. He needs the cushion of the slot. His speed and quickness is negated when a corner gets his hands on him. Austin probably has a better chance but still questionable. Not a “good” outside backup outside option, rather a shot in the dark. Much better slot option. While we already have Crowder, Mckenzie and Shakir as possibly better slot options. Shakir is probably our best option to replace Diggs or Davis atm.
-
I hate to speak for the almighty Badol the Godless, but I think he’s just talking about us lacking outside WR depth. Right now, it looks as if we’re counting on Shakir (you had 70% of his catches from the slot) and Austin (who hasn’t done anything in years) to backup Diggs/Davis. He’s right. We’re lacking outside WR depth. That doesn’t mean we don’t have a very good WR unit. A substantial injury to Diggs or Davis could end our season short of a SB if Shak can’t take the reigns. The Rams lost Bob Woods last season and still won the super bowl partly because they had 4 capable outside WRs at the time of the injury.

Feeling like Bengals might be "Top Opponent" this year
NewEra replied to Billsfanatixs's topic in The Stadium Wall
Lots of good teams in the AFC. I don’t think there will be one “top opponent”. The top opponent will be the one we face in the AFCCG if we make it. Could be one of 6-7 teams imo. not one person thought the Bengals was pulse been playing in the SB last year. Could be a different team in their place this year. chiefs chargers broncos raiders (very slight chance) ravens bengals colts titans (very slight chance) all have a hope imo. Maybe even the browns if the nfl clown show would rather make more money with watson on the field. -
But you don’t know who they would’ve signed. You don’t know who they would’ve gotten on D. Alternate additions may have big been blunders. We thought sanders would’ve been a great addition. We were wrong. We thought daryl Williams was a decent resigning. It wasn’t. We thought Zack moss might be good. He hasn’t been. They may have traded for Robbie anderson and viewed that as a great addition. if we win the SB this year, which is still possible, they made the right moves. We’ll wait and see.
-
Agreed. The comment was referencing the fact that McB sacrificed help for Josh so they could enhance the D. 1st rd pick, 3rd round pick, von, daquon, settle, Phillips, Shaq vs 2nd rd pick, 5th rd pick, Saffold, Bates, Howard. Crowder, Mckenzie, Duke and Austin. they didn’t ignore O, but the only real commitment on Offense are Bates (multi year deal) and Cook (4 year rookie contract). While von and jones were given contracts above what many thought they would get. Spent our 1st and 3rd rookie contract on a cb2 and a LB that most of us hadn’t known much about. pretty obvious to me that they invested a lot more on D than giving our franchise god (sorry to those offended) more weapons and protection. There isn’t one way to build a SB team. I’m very happy with our DL additions, Elam and our D as a whole. I but I also agreed with Scott that our OL depth and outside WR depth we’re lacking and could crush our title hopes if certain injuries occur. I’m happy with the quessenberry and van roten adds. I feel better about our OL depth. I don’t feel good about our outside WR depth. Gabe has had some injuries and while I LOVE the Shakir pick, I’m not sure if he’ll be an adequate replacement as a rookie. I’d love another outside guy. I’m also eager to see what Tavon Austin has in the tank. Dunno if he can play outside, but could be dangerous if used properly…..if he makes the team. 😉
