  1. Due to Carters injury, I think Smoot was to be used more as an interior pass rusher than a DE. Or at least split his snaps between the two spots. With von back, he can assume more snaps and toohill/Solomon getting DE4 snaps. I think groot is a 75% snaps kind of guy and our DE4 doesn’t have to play as many snaps as in the past. I also think Jefferson can be used as a DE on 3rd and 4th and 1. I think JP is a 1T in size and stature. Not so much in play style. Hopefully he can collapse a few pockets
  2. Thanks for posting. Love this news. While I somewhat overlooked his addition this offseason based on his play last year (returning from injury) I’ve been very happy with his play. While Beane hasn’t been associated with good offseason FA signings (and rightly so, especially on the DL), Smoot has been a stellar signing imo. Paying him nothing and he’s been pretty dam good. The Mack Hollins signing has also been excellent. He gets hate and has had a couple 🤦🏻‍♂️ plays, but he’s a leader and he makes plays. 4th and goal TD and making the only 2 catches on the clinching drive. Add in his plus blocking skills, he plays his role well. Some say he wouldn’t make an impact. They were wrong. One could argue the Rapp signing is a good one. I wasn’t a fan of the price and length of his contract at first, but he might well be worth it. Just have to hope he can coexist with Cole as starting S’s.
  3. The below is the play. Maybe this view doesn’t show it the hold on Torrance…. But it certainly doesn’t look like a hold on him from this video
  4. Been busy with work, did they announce what they are doing with Ankou? I prefer him to both of them. He’s better vs the run and won’t get injured after 2 plays. I do like adding more big bodies to help limit Daquan and Eds reps a bit. I’d just prefer it it weren’t at the expense of ankou
  5. Yes, he was miscast on our team.
  6. A big body with experience. Don’t love him but I’m ok with kicking the tires until Carter comes back
  7. I would never unless he were under contract for the next 2 years for the minimum. The lions got zadarious smith for much less.
  8. This is gold. Thanks for confirming
  9. Kind of- but in reality, he went from being a dime back playing around 30% of the snaps in KC to playing 90-100% in the playoffs due to injury to not being able to beat out damar Hamlin. He couldn’t win the job…..period
  10. I’m not trying to get you agree with me. I made a statement- you disagreed with it. I’m ok with that 👍🏻
  11. Lattimore to the commanders for a “premium pick” 3rd round and more
  12. But being consistent for 14 seasons has nothing to do with my comment. If Shakir got hurt and his yac ability took a huge hit then my take on the matter would change. But as it stands, Shakir’s yac skills are better than Hines ward. And it doesn’t matter how long he’s done it or will do. I’m talking about Shakir’s current ability
  13. It’s my eyes, not my heart. Shakir is a more explosive athlete with better burst and natural make you miss ability. Think what you like. Shakir is special with the ball in his hands in the open field.
  14. You’re confusing particular skills with overall ability based on total body of work. That’s fine- I just know what my eyes tell me. Shakir is better yac (much better imo) than Hines Ward. John Brown is a better vertical WR than Anquan Boldin. It doesn’t matter if Boldin is a fringe hall of famer or not. Blind homerism, if you say so. I disagree.
  15. The logical conclusion after watching the chiefs OTs hold in the playoffs and never get called for ONE is that there’s something fishy going on
  16. Oh well. Smith would’ve been amazing- great trade for Detroit. Glad he’s not in the afc
  17. No clue what wards yac average was. That’s fine, you don’t have to. I have no problem saying what my eyes tell me. If stats say something different, so be it. Shakir is special with the ball in his hands
  18. I didn’t compare him to anyone. All I said was that his yac ability is better than both mentioned
  19. Walker and ward didn’t have nearly the yac game that Shakir has
  20. We watched him hold Bosa relentlessly in the Super Bowl. And get zero calls. The tackle tandems that held relentlessly all season didn’t get flagged for one holding in the playoffs? Any idea how many holding calls they’ve had in the playoffs? the facemask on wirfs last night was the worst yet. Bucs get 7 on a run, in KC territory- no. 15 yard face mask when there was clearly no face mask. Bucs have to settle for 3.
  21. Because pass rush wins super bowls. Without a good one, you aren’t beating KC. Our pass rush is average. We lost Smoot. We lost Carter. Trading for pass rusher is always a good idea.
  22. One terrible penalty and the drive is over
