I’ve been listening for Marino for years…..but I think I’m over him. Not due to lack of quality, but voice and delivery has worn on me. that said, I’ve been listening to all of the good (and some bad) bills podcasts for awhile now and I have the same feeling for many of them. Sadly, bad voices + delivery outweighs good content for me at this point.

Good question. Not sure if he wants big bucks or just an extension. imo, he has no leverage. They have a stud starter that they paid big bucks to. They have a capable RB3 in johnson and, imo, a one of the better RB4s in the league. One that could be a solid rb2 in rookie Jerome Ford. I’d tell him to gfh. Stay healthy and show that he deserves the next contract. Now that they have Watson for 23 and forward, there’s no need to pay 2 RBs. I’d trade him or let him sit out. No chance I’d pay him.

Girl doesn’t leave, she gets loud and calls him terrible names = lay hands on her twice, get violent with your friends and then kick her while she’s on the ground. He made a terrible choice. I don’t think he should be banned from the nfl….. I think he should be humble and continue to work on himself. The guy was given a 2 year deal worth 6.5M a year as a RB….in a league where RBs don’t carry much value. Then he missed half the season with injuries that were supposed to keep him out 4 weeks or so. Leonard Fournette won a SB and got paid 4m last year. Then got 3-21 a year later. Does hunt deserve more than 6.5M? Why does he have to get paid now? In the midst of all this turmoil in the franchise? Humble? No. Poor choice imo. agree to disagree

It seems you may have forgotten some of what had happened as well. No mention of him shoving a female two times prior to kicking her in the butt? He put his hands on her (or a different female twice). One hard shove, she hadn’t touched him. He then shoved his friend and then shoved her again in the shoulder/neck/head area. Neither shove were a 1 on a 1-10. he put hands on a female twice and kick a female once. I agree, the kick was a 1 or 2 on a 1-10 scale. Agreed 💯 I was pissed when I heard Elams name called. I REALLY wanted Booth. I thought Jermaine Johnson was the BPA and would’ve been ok using another major resource on DE, but didn’t think we would realistically draft him. Christian Watson or Kyler Gordon wouldn’t have upset me. I didn’t like Elams run d or his handsy approach. I didn’t like that he didn’t have a good 2021 season. I loved his press man ability, size and speed. We didn’t have a corner that had that package. All of our corners were average sized and not very fast. Thinking that his addition would allow us to become more multiple in our defensive play calls. i officially came around to the pick 1.5 hours after the selection. My father did a great job.

But is he worth 2.5M?

I don’t think price should be considered a “one year” wonder, If he is, than I’d consider him the best. His one year was much better than Karlos’ best and yielded us a 1st rd pick. The legend of Kiko would certainly be up there imo. Dude was a bum everywhere he went after his one good year with us. Maybe not an entire year, but Trent Edwards had us thinking he could be our franchise QB Mike Gillislees stand out year yielded us Matt Milano iirc. Butler was a very good WR for 3 seasons iirc Bell was good in his first 2 seasons before his injury and we were able to trade him for Bennett.

If there’s no guaranteed money, sure. If they don’t sign one, they’re happy with what they have and likely expect Tre’Mendious to play week 1

Edited: Dude shoved a girl twice then kicked her in the back, gets cut and signed by another team that gave him a 2 year 13.5M contract, then misses half the year with calf and ankle injuries…..then wants more money. Sheeeesh

Yeah….. we didn’t have corners with any height or speed…… elam has both height and speed. it’s not like Tyreek hill is the only player in the league we’re trying to defend….. you can talk about the context of the conversation….but McB drafted in the context of the next 5-10 years. They added a type of corner that we didn’t have. One with height, speed and the ability to play press man. They have enough confidence in their coaching and scheme where they can teach the press man corner how to play their zone. he wasn’t my favorite pick…..I wanted booth. But I understand why they drafted him. Physically and mentally, he’s a fit.

Yes….and we addressed the pass rush. We didn’t have any corners with any speed. We had to play off because they were afraid of getting beat deep. we didn’t have any corners with any height. we added one with both.

Again……do you consider the 2nd rd a mid round pick? Or is round 3 the only mid round pick? Not sure what this has to do with my post. I didn’t say anything bad about Elam in this post did I? my point was, they traded up for the last player they had with a first rd grade….which also happened to be a position of need. If they only wanted a cb, there were still other graded cbs available. They didn’t have to trade up, but they wanted this player…..not JUST a CB. If Elam was gone and there weren’t any other 1st rd graded players left, I’m not convinced that they would’ve taken their highest rated corner. Maybe….. maybe not. We’ll never know. But Scott knows, I’m sure

There were still good corners on the board when they traded up. Many had 1st rd grades on Andrew Booth and Kyler Gordon. Many saw Dax Hill as a 1st rd corner. Some had Mccreary. look at the non corners drafted after Elam. Who could we have taken? We weren’t taking jermaine Johnson or Karlaftis after how we spent on DL. Wyatt is a 3T like Ed, that wasn’t happening. We weren’t taking a S LB, or C imo, due to positional value. Breece Hall? Poor positional value. Other than another CB, Watson, Pickens and Tyler Smith were to only guys I could’ve seen as our pick. Or we could’ve went with Dane Jackson and cheap free agents with hopes Tre’Davious made it back after watching our corners get torched relentlessly in season ending losses to KC 2 years in a row. Offense didn’t end our season. Our defense and coaching did.
