McDermotts scheme has failed for sure….but if defensive lineman win their matchups - schemes look MUCH better. It’s not “possibly”- It’s a fact that our defensive lineman have played poorly in every season ending loss since we’ve been contenders.

I like McD but I was advocating for Johnson last year. Like you said- there aren’t many I’d take, but Johnson is the top choice. Not sure who else I’d be a fan of. Slowick impressed last season. The pass blocking has been abysmal this year- so he hasn’t been as impressive

It’s my biggest argument for replacing McDermott.

It’s an acceptable loss because we have no choice but to accept it. The season goes on. What are the consequences for not accepting it? Fire the coach? I can accept that Stafford and Nacua were dialed in at a level most teams won’t reach. Josh played maybe the best 2nd half of any player ever. Watching that gave me lots of hope for what is possible for this team. Sure, maybe our defense lays another egg or McDermott botches another decision- but when it comes down to it- this game won’t matter in 3 months. All that matters is that they learn from their mistakes and continue work hard. This is the hand we’re playing with. That’s what we have to accept until this season is over.

It’s a bad missed call. Happens all the time. we can’t have our QB underthrowing wide open WRs in the end zone. we can’t have our long snapper get destroyed and give up a blocked punt TD. we can’t give up 44 points. lots of plays changed everything- none more so than a missed throw - 14 point swing on one play.

Makes me sad. I saw him have a couple nice plays during one 15 minute span- other than that- another game not living up to his potential. Was hoping he would build on last season and become part of the 2nd tier of DTs. Instead he’s playing like he’s tier 4. Or maybe 7.

Mcd viewed him as a big and fast athlete that he was hoping to mold into a good zone corner. I also thought that part of why we drafted him was because McD wanted to start playing more man as to be more unpredictable. maybe he just loves Ingram- 🤷🏻‍♂️ I thought that Elam was inactive because he doesn’t play STs and Ingram does. Maybe they don’t view the gap between the two so great that it would outweigh the ST play. eager to see who gets the start if Douglass is out
