9.87 RAS. 6’2 210 4.45 40 39 inch vertical the only knock physically was his arm length at 29 3/4. Turns out, his vertical and explosiveness have negated his arm length. This is what this defense has been missing since Poyer and Hyde’s prime. You could usually count on one of them to get there hands on a ball or two a game and prevent 3rd down conversions. it looks like we may have another difference maker on the back end. McDermott took a lot of heat for not developing him quicker (even with his injuries). If Hancock can take a similar path as Cole, we’re set in the secondary for awhile. Having Poyer out there helping these guys with their keys and calls has been a catalyst for this defenses improvement imo. I’m really glad he’s back side note- I’m fine with cam Lewis as a starting nickel due to his versatility at Safety. He might be better than Taron at this stage in their careers. Less than a year apart in age, but Cam continues to get better.

I think it’s easier to make the Super Bowl if we don’t have to play KC. if you could get the 1 seed AND NOT play KC, I’d vote for that

Seems like a good fit on pass plays, would probably be big trouble vs the run centric teams. Seems like it could work when we’re working with leads. Would like to see Solomon and AJ to do a little bit of that too.

I haven’t read your post yet Turk and I’ll comment on it afterwards. I was saying something similar to this premise the other day. winning the Super Bowl is the only goal. Can this team achieve that? I believe it can as long as we stay healthy enough. But we have to use Palmer more and use Keon like we did last week (unless he improves). More Palmer Kincaid and the RB in the pass game. Sprinkling in Moore, Gabe and Samuel for timely plays downfield. More play action. More passing out of the 22 and 12 personnel will keep teams honest or they’ll get burned. Point being, we didn’t NEED another WR. Another WR would’ve improved our offense. No question. I just don’t think that it was necessary. We can win with what we have and long as we don’t commit stupid untimely penalties and don’t lose anymore key players to injury.

I agree with the post. We have a very good offense, especially when our run game is successful. The one thing that’s missing though. What happens when an opponent shuts down our run game in the playoffs? Can we lean on the pass game to bring us home? Maybe. Maybe not. I tend to think Josh will make a play. Then another an another. But sometimes we need a pass catcher to make a play, not just Josh. Time will tell. If the D continues to play like they did vs KC, maybe we won’t need them to, but there’s always what if they don’t. They usually don’t.
