And equally impressive that we still have a very good OL. 2 2nd rd picks, a 3rd rd, a higher mid tier FA to go with one of the best value OGs in Edwards. Beane did a good job constructing it

💯 my thoughts exactly. i figured we’d be getting the 2024 version of Rapp. McD alluded to him being injured all season, not sure if he’s just covering for the guy or what, but he was abysmal this season and sinking the ship. Poyer was just what this defense needed. Theres still plenty of time for him to get exposed, but he’s been solid.

He was so dam good yesterday.

There are some great takes in here. 🤣 Poyer has been a great signing. Most everyone in this thread took an L. People scoffed at Shaq and JP too. All 3 out there making plays. The haters love to cry about Samuel, Palmer, elam, Landon Jackson etc, so I figure I give some props to Beane and McD for these 3 under the radar signings that have all had a positive impact on our team.

@Billl @Zerovoltz Is the season over? Is it the end of the Dynasty?
-
If no one wants him, add him to the ps and see what the deal is. Then most likely cut him because I’m he’s an idiot. Can’t hurt to roll the dice, but the chances of something good coming from it is minimal.

Can’t believe I didn’t see this thread until now. I’ve probably watched this throw 100 times by now. My mind was blown. In the moment, I remember thinking “did he really just do that?” and had to rewind it 10 times. I had the same feeling on the initial TD call on the sideline throw to Knox. Twice in one game with throws no one else can make. Alas Knox wasn’t inbounds, but it was a helluva play

I think he’s so much better than Eleay in every way.

This Carolina connection turned out to be one helluva signing. I hope he’s back next year if he can stay healthy

Our run d really impressed me yesterday. I figured we’d be so laser focused on defending the pass that our run D would sufffer, but it was excellent. Would love to see that continue. We played nickel the entire game and our run D was very good. 19 carries for 62 yards (3.2 ypc). The bengals had been running the ball effectively since their bye a month ago and really gashed the patriot run d to the tune of 5.2 ypc (and Flacco was the QB) And when he’s out there, the defense assumes he’s getting the ball and they can double team him on the most important play of the game which allowed Josh to run. The only problem with playing Kincaid so few snaps is he’ll likely be the focal point of the D when he’s out there. I would love for his snap count to be 20-30ish until the playoffs.

There’s suffering and then there’s not liking. Two different things. I don’t like losing. I don’t suffer. I don’t know for a fact that we are going to lose every season McD is our coach. Somehow, you do

Idk man. If we have Bernard, Shaq and Dorian in the fold, I think we can snag a LB in rd 3. There’s been a handful of solid LBs taken in rd 3. I’d rather not wait til the 3rd rd for a WR or DE. as it stand, we have Rousseau, Solomon, Jackson and Hoecht (who might kiss some time early). If we resign Bosa or another legit pass rusher, then maybe we can wait on DE, but we’ll probably be in the same position again next year. PS squad guys and defensive tackles playing snaps at DE. Investing a first or 2nd into WR (via trade or draft) seems like a no brainer, no? if your point is that LB is so important in McDs defense that it needs a stud to operate, I can dig it. You have a better understanding of if that is the truth than I do, but I currently think a good pass rusher would help more significantly than an off ball LB. Well said. Another thing about Cam, I love his effort out there. He’s at a physical disadvantage against everyone he draws, but he has the advantage in heart. The kids gives it 💯 + every play

I agree that Taron will be retained. Regarding the secondary as a whole, We are set at 3 of the 5 starting spots (Benford, Hairston, Bishop. I’d give Hancock 50% chance to fill 1 of those spots (at either nickel or S). We’ll see how he progresses but he has the physical traits and seems like a bright kid. The Strong injury really hurts as he looked like a solid backup with potential to be a decent starter. The LB situation is pretty crazy. Shaq and Milano both FA’s. Bernard and Dorian under contract and will be back 💯 unless Dorian is somehow traded. Shaq is our best LB atm imo and Milano has been playing better and has been a core player. How can we move on from Shaq after how he’s played? He wants to play for McD and considering his age, I doubt he’ll be getting a big pay day. He should be back if he stays healthy the remainder of the year. I could see us moving on from Milano and should probably draft a lb in the first 4 rounds. I think the plan will be to draft a LB, slot, S and CB to develop. Hancock (and possibly Savage if he fits well) could compete for a starting position. Bernard, Shaq (or Milano) and Dorian + draft pick. I hope that our priority resources will be invested into WR, OL and Pass rush. Unless McD just wants to load up on man coverage specialists and go blitz happy, we need to replace (or resign) Bosa. We’ll be getting Ed and Hoecht back and they’ll help immensely, but we’re sure to lose another pass rusher to injury again next season. More talent getting after the QB please. Can never have enough

Some are. Some need to develop better coping skills
