  1. I question the NFL's decision to put four December home games in Buffalo. That's a great way to deter people from going to 1/2 the games on the schedule. I assume one is Toronto, but still.

I think a good record will ensure a good crowd, regardless of the weather. Back in the 90s the Bills had no problem selling out the Ralph in December, even if it was a kuhjillion degrees below zero.

In the 90s they didn't sell out a playoff game. Weather makes a huge difference.

  2. You know I think I'm going to follow this rule. When I need to turn right I will turn on my blinker, merge into the bike lane with plenty of space between me and the bike and turn right. If they have to slow down to accomodate my right turn and give me ****......oh it's on baby, it's on. Heading home to the city now. I'll report back later.

I'll start doing it too, bring on the hate.

  3. Yes. Same if you hit a jogger sprinting 20 mph. Share the road

It's definitely not the same as a jogger. They're going at a reasonable pace whereas these bikers are coming up on me so fast I can't see them. Not to mention, most of the time this happens when I'm trying to make a right on red and the biker is running a red light.

I'm happy to share the road, but the suicidal/homicidal bikers make it dangerous for everyone's lives and bank accounts.

  4. I almost got killed the other day simply exiting the door of my apartment by a bicyclist blazing down the sidewalk at a million miles per hour. It scared the **** out of me. Those !@#$ers never do anything right around here, half the time they're on the sidewalk (and no I don't move out of the way when they ring their little bells at me, it's a sidewalk), the other half the time they're blowing red lights, weaving between cars, and pulling up to a red light in the bike lane then moving into the center of the traffic lane just to be !@#$s.

Here's a question for bikers... when I'm in my car with the turn signal on about to make a right turn (across the bike lane), what happens if I make my turn and a biker going 20+ MPH smashes in to the side of my car? Am I at fault? It seems to me that the burden has to be on the biker, in most cases it's impossible to see the bike approaching... it's hard enough to deal with all the pedestrians, and who expects to get passed on the right when you're already in the right lane? I've had so many close calls that half the time I'm afraid to make a turn without looking over my shoulder now.

  5. 8 REC for 75 yards (1 TD) in the first game and 3 for 85 yards in the second game (both losses) is how we as Bills fans define OWNING a player? Seem like pretty average days for a WR to me. At least he had 8 REC but that YPC is not impressive at all. OWNING a player, to me at least, is throwing up numbers such as 5 REC 125 yards and 2 TD's...that is OWNING a player. Stevie had 2 decent games which he should have as a #1 WR. Just because Revis didnt shut him out does not mean he was OWNED...I am not defending REVIS but more so explaining what I feel a more logical definition of what OWNING a player means

If 85 yards a game was average for a receiver, the yearly yardage for an average receiver would be 1,360. I don't know where people get it in their heads that receivers having less than 100 yards a game is not a good showing.

  6. I was listening to WEEI (Boston) this afternoon on the way home and they said Mario would be in Buffalo tonight. Then these a-holes decided to start putting down Buffalo. "They better put a bag over his head so he does not see what Buffalo looks like"..."Mario won't be out of there anytime soon. There aren't enough flights going out of that Buffalo airport". Crap like that. I hope we sign this guy. Brady would be wetting his pants with the front four we could put up.

Those guys do nothing but **** on everything. I used to try to listen to them but gave up.

  7. "Bills General Manager Buddy Nix said this morning that the team is planning to make waves with a free agent signing or two that makes the league take notice"

No. I would not consider signing the Saints #2 WR something that would make the league take notice. Do you?

How many? One would be nice. Two would be outstanding.

I have no real opinion on Meachem specifically. All I was saying is I don't think he is a "big splash" Nix was talking about is all.

In tandem with someone like Williams, it's a huge deal. On its own, it's a normal FA signing.

  8. I think you are thinking about 5 year ago NFL football. Yes, the zone blitz ushered in an era of creative pass defense in the 1990's. It was created to counter teams that played offense THEN (Bills/Niners) like teams do now, but much of the impact of that has been legislated out of the game.

Look for teams......like the Bills and keep it simple Dave Wannstedt.......to go back to more conservative defensive tactics to speed up defenders and try to play their best defense in the red zone when the limited space negates some of the offenses heavy advantage. The closer you get to the goal line, the greater the impact of penetration at the LOS.

I don't expect to see crazy pin-ball scoring numbers, but the pass yardage will continue to be astronomical.

I think this past Super Bowl is what will be passing for a defensive struggle from here on out.

Yeah, that was kind of the deterrent years ago. Now, the QB takes the quick dump off and the unblocked blitzer pulls up quickly to avoid a penalty and more importantly.......a fine that comes out of HIS paycheck.

Players are money motivated. Why would they risk a fine if it meant losing money? Well, the NFL is in the process of closing up any potential loopholes.....ANY..... to their strategy. Google "Gregg".

I think you mean more aggressive defenses with simpler roles for each player. The goal is for your athlete to beat their athlete. Less agressive = reactionary and slower. More aggressive makes the offense react to the defense.
