What Do We Do Now About Our Government?
Koko78 replied to KRC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Public? No. For example, if I were charged with using any means to end corruption at a particular bureaucratic institution (and, you know, disregarded my conscience/soul), I would likely call all employees into a meeting. At that meeting, I would call up selected people (in various capacities/ranks), that I had fairly solid evidence of corruption on. I would present that evidence to the crowd, and summarily execute them in front of the rest, hopefully splattering some gore on as many people as possible. I would then inform those assembled that this is the price they, and their families, would pay for further corrupt acts, before having them file out of the room, one at a time, past the dead bodies. You can't change a bureaucratic/political culture with a few firings and rule changes, especially when it is damn near impossible to fire anyone. Obviously the above example is horrible and over-the-top. -
What Do We Do Now About Our Government?

Or, as a fun alternative: -
Well, that's easily explainable: The Republicans were pouncing, without evidence, and even though Obama somehow didn't endanger national security when he outright refused to send lethal aid to Ukraine, Trump must be impeached for putting us all at grave risk of a Russian invasion while abusing his power to extort a bribe for personal political gain. Also, Eric Holder is a goddamn hero for obstructing Congress.

I'd give her the best 6.4 seconds of my life.

I'm fairly certain that the correct question is: How many minutes would it take to sell out a home playoff game?

1.) Mueller isn't Asian. 2.) Firing Mueller for continuing a partisan investigation that the investigators knew had no basis in reality is not a crime. 3.) Firing Mueller for being Asian (or, you know, continuing a sham investigation solely as a perjury/obstruction/process crime trap) is still not a ***** crime. If you want to continue with this "crime" stupidity, quote the statute he violated. "…ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, I have one final thing I want you to consider. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Chewbacca. Chewbacca is a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk. But Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor. Now think about it; that does not make sense! Why would a Wookiee, an eight-foot tall Wookiee, want to live on Endor, with a bunch of two-foot tall Ewoks? That does not make sense! But more important, you have to ask yourself: What does this have to do with this case? Nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, it has nothing to do with this case! It does not make sense! Look at me. I'm a lawyer defending a major record company, and I'm talkin' about Chewbacca! Does that make sense? Ladies and gentlemen, I am not making any sense! None of this makes sense! And so you have to remember, when you're in that jury room deliberatin' and conjugatin' the Emancipation Proclamation, does it make sense? No! Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, it does not make sense! If Chewbacca lives on Endor, you must acquit! The defense rests "

The Impeachment Trial of President Donald J. Trump
Koko78 replied to Nanker's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Yes, well, you see that won't work. While he defied Congressional subpoenas, it was all the GOP's fault. If they hadn't pounced, without evidence, then Holder wouldn't have been forced to heroically resist their efforts to besmirch the good reputation of the scandal-free Obama administration. Eric Holder is a goddamn hero. He should be awarded a purple heart for his heroic bravery in the face of pouncing Republicans. -
Please identify the exact statute which qualifies as "obstruction" by doing something that he is legally entitled to do. By the way, does it not strike you as odd that this "proven" obstruction somehow didn't make it into the Articles of Impeachment. You know, since it's "proven" obstruction and all...

The "National Emergency" Thread

Then maybe Congress shouldn't have given the president specific authority to do just that in the National Emergencies Act... -
The Media's Portrayal of Trump and His Presidency
Koko78 replied to Nanker's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
This proves why Trump needs to be impeached. He is such a failure as president, he can't even be an actual literal super mecha-Hitler correctly. I can't figure out whose face is more punchable. Greta or these wads! -
I'm sorry, but it's clear that Trump knew what he was doing was wrong when he abused his power and extorted a bribe out of Ukraine to screw over poor innocent never-done-a-thing-wrong Joe Biden. All of the witnesses agree that their interpretation of how they feel about the second-hand information conclusively and irrefutably implies their speculation that Trump is 100% guilty. We won't even get into how horrific and improper Trump's obstruction by ignoring of the subpoenas is. What kind of man refuses to cooperate with fact finders who have already pre-determined guilt (and, you know, actually ran on finding him guilty of something?)

Well, you'd have to be a mentally-limited amoeba...
