  1. Well, that's one way to artificially increase the graduation rate, so that you can make it look like your schools are actually teaching kids. I'm sure it has nothing to do with increasing federal funding based upon that "success".
  2. Imagine how it feels when you have the weight of the government on you, and you have to defend yourself while sitting in jail because some judge set bail so high you can't possibly make it. That's why the NY bail reforms were good (despite the histrionics.) However, that's for other threads. More to the point, the feds have been using some rather dirty tactics as of late - especially against General Flynn. Hiding evidence, threatening to prosecute his son with bullschiff offenses that they knew couldn't be proven, etc. If you have to pervert justice in order to serve justice, are you really doing justice? As for Avenatti, I don't see the comparison. CPL wasn't accused of 'process crimes', where all the prosecutor has to show is that you maybe didn't tell the whole truth to an agent. He was (and still is) charged with actual bad acts, including screwing over his clients. CPL isn't being charged to try to extort cooperation or to punish a political annoyance. He was also tossed in jail pre-conviction because he was apparently continuing to violate the law.
  3. Feel free to explain the differences between Democratic Socialism and regular old Socialism. Putting the term "Democratic" in front of it doesn't make any more difference than calling Herpes "Democratic Herpes".
  4. Uh, what the *****? Talk about revising history. Avenetti's crime wasn't that he threatened a lawsuit if they didn't come to terms, his crime was threatening to publicly release information if they didn't pay an exorbitant amount (the vast majority of which was going to go in his pockets.) That's pretty much the definition of extortion. Comparing Avenatti to General Flynn is a hell of an insult to Flynn.
  5. Wait what? Straight black men are the white men of the black community?
  6. Quite literally no one is doing that here.
  7. Do you even know how juries work?
  8. Eh, I'm ok with the world ending in a cuteness overload. Also,
  9. You're a ***** idiot.
  10. Well, I think we'll need 18 angry Republicans to head up a special counsel's office to determine whether or not he (or his campaign) have been colluding with the Russians. Oh, and if Bernie gets upset about it, we can simply call that obstruction.
  11. Doesn't matter what brought about the inquiry - the crime is giving the false statements under oath. As my boss likes to say, "how can you trust a government that can lie to you, but will throw you in prison if you lie to them?"
  12. If he is, he's more coherent in this persona.
  13. Hmm, in unrelated news: A Chinese research team has suddenly contracted the Novel Coronovirus and died while attempting to commit acts of sabotage and high treason against the CCP. Their traitorous remains were swiftly burnt, buried, and pissed on. Their data was destroyed, and they are never to be spoken of again.
  14. Was Biden arrested on his way to see Blago as well?
  15. Stone wasn't prosecuted because of the FISA abuses. He was prosecuted because he lied under oath to Congress. How he got there to testify isn't relevant, the act of lying under oath is. However, with that said, it's pretty clear he wasn't given a fair trial if the forebitch of the jury is a partisan hack who lied to get on the jury panel.
  16. Is it Argumentum ad Hitlerum, or Reductio ad Hitlerum?
  17. Clear proof that we need 47 more liberals appointed to the supreme court. We can't have the rule of law taking hold in this country!
  18. Please, I have 5 anonymous sources who, citing unnamed methods, heard at the water cooler from people who were familiar with people who use other water coolers that Trump did, in fact, have THREE scoops of ice cream last night after a supper consisting of burnt steak slathered in ketchup.
  19. No, they're hung on the predatory sexual assaults, which require that they find he committed acts against two different victims. That's why Annabella Sciorra was so important to the prosecution: She is a potential act against a 2nd victim, if the jury doesn't believe one of the other complainants. I'm guessing they've already found him guilty of either Rape 1st or Criminal Sexual Act (formerly Sod.omy) 1st, but not both. The Rape 3rd is largely irrelevant. Edit: Sod.omy is ***** censored?
  20. Wow, I'm impressed that snopes took time away from fact checking the Babylon Bee to address this issue.
  21. Blue = WNY Red = Barbarian peasants at the gate pretending to be cool.
  22. Eh, Rochester should go petition Syracuse to see if they can get into the CNY club.
