  1. DHS Sets the Record Straight: ICE Never Deported Media’s “Allentown Grandfather” Release Date: July 21, 2025 The media fell for another hoax designed to demonize ICE law enforcement WASHINGTON – Today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) set the record straight on misleading and false reporting that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) “secretly deported” a so-called “Allentown grandfather” to Guatemala. Additionally, reporting claimed he “died” in ICE custody. The Morning Call, an Allentown, Pennsylvania, newspaper published the following headline on July 20, 2025, without any facts from DHS about major allegations made against law enforcement: The family of the individual allegedly told reporters he was handcuffed and taken by federal officers at a green card appointment in Philadelphia. This claim is completely false. There is no record of the man appearing at any green card appointment in or around the area of Philadelphia on June 20, 2025. Furthermore, ICE has not deported Luis Leon—a Chilean national—to Guatemala, as his family members have said. ICE’s only record of this individual entering the U.S. is in 2015 from Chile under the visa waiver program. According to reporting by the Associated Press, the Guatemalan Institute of Migration—which coordinates with ICE on all deportations from the U.S. to Guatemala—claims they have not received anyone matching the name, age or nationality of Luis Leon back into Guatemala. According to the report, the family alleges a woman claiming to be an immigration lawyer called and offered to help them but did not disclose how she knew about the case. The family claims this individual also told them Leon died in ICE custody. “ICE never arrested or deported Luis Leon to Guatemala. Nor does ICE ‘disappear’ people—this is a categorical lie being peddled to demonize ICE agents who are already facing an 830% increase in assaults against them. This was a hoax peddled by the media who rushed to press without pausing to corroborate the facts with DHS. This was journalistic malpractice,” said Assistant Secretary McLaughlin. https://www.dhs.gov/news/2025/07/21/dhs-sets-record-straight-ice-never-deported-medias-allentown-grandfather

  3. California Gov. Gavin Newsom Tries Desperately to Ditch Covid Record Newsom’s track record during the pandemic is rife with failure and hypocrisy. by Leslie Eastman By now, it is an open secret that California Gov. Gavin Newsom plans to run for president in 2028. Newsom’s challenge is that he is term-limited as governor, and so will no longer hold office when the primary field begins to take shape. This will severely hamper attempts to seem relevant and to rework narratives. Among the numerous failures Newsom will have to explain are the many poor choices he made in regards to the COVID pandemic and how his administration embraced the complete suite of draconian policies pushed on this nation by “experts” like Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx. Newsom kicked off his rewrite of the state’s COVID response by appearing on former Navy SEAL Shawn Ryan’s podcast. During their conversation, Ryan asked Newsom to reply to a “tough” question from fellow podcaster Joe Rogan. The question was: who should be held responsible for requiring COVID vaccines for children, and for the rise in related health issues? Additionally, Ryan asked if the California governor felt “any remorse for that draconian decision that was obviously heavily influenced by the pharmaceutical companies’ desire for maximum profit?”. Newsom’s response was as slick as you would expect, blaming Florida and “experts” and denying ownership in the ponderous set of pandemic policy choices that throttled the state for about three years. https://legalinsurrection.com/2025/07/california-gov-gavin-newsom-tries-desperately-to-ditch-covid-record/
  4. With the Obama-led Intelligence Report on Russia Imploding, the Dems Will Likely Flock to This Narrative Matt Vespa The Russia collusion hoax has been exposed. It was always an open secret, but now we have the documents, thanks to Tulsi Gabbard releasing troves of files, all of which bear the fingerprints of the usual suspects. Some, such as former CIA Director John Brennan and fired FBI Director James Comey, are already being investigated. James Clapper and Barack Obama should be next, for knowingly politicizing and weaponizing the intelligence to hamstring Donald Trump. The intelligence community was adamant that Moscow couldn’t interfere in our elections. Then, Obama ordered Clapper to draft a new intelligence report, which used the Steele Dossier as its foundation. That document, a Clinton campaign-funded opposition research project, is at the heart of this operation. Even Clapper didn’t believe it, but reportedly silenced any analyst who raised objections. That report is now obliterated like the Iranian nuclear facility at Fordow. So, Democrats are likely going to rush to the “bipartisan” Senate Intelligence Committee’s report, which is much more friendly to liberal narratives about the Russian collusion hoax. It likely won’t hold. As RealClearInvestigations’ Paul Sperry noted, the report’s main witness, Lisa Monaco, was an Obama acolyte who was part of the infamous December 9, 2016, meeting, where Barack ordered the intelligence community to draft the new intelligence assessment. He gave the deep state the green light to go after a duly elected president. A campaign of media leaks was also part of the strategy—Monaco reportedly played a key role. It’s all infected, kids. The entire hoax is being exposed and will continue to be. More document dumps are expected; more whistleblowers are likely to come forward. https://townhall.com/tipsheet/mattvespa/2025/07/21/the-dems-likely-counterpoint-on-russian-collusion-hoax-isnt-going-to-hold-up-well-n2660667
  5. 'F' Is for Democrat: Colorado’s Collapse Under One-Party Rule Stephen Green Colorado's economic report card is in, and my beloved home state — formerly a solid A and B student — just flunked every subject. Once upon a time, Colorado was a devilishly weird purple state — home to moderate-to-conservative Republicans like Ben Nighthorse Campbell and Tom Tancredo, idiosyncratic Democrats like Gary Hart and Richard Lamm, and (outside the Denver-Boulder Axis) a healthy libertarian streak. It was such a swirl that one of those famous Republicans, Campbell, was originally a Democrat. That all began to change around 2008 when my purple state went deep blue for Barack Obama. By 2018, the hope'n'change was locked in. The last Republican to win statewide office was in 2016, when Heidi Ganahl was elected to the University of Colorado Board of Regents. The last Republican to win a Senate seat was Cory Gardner in 2014, and he served but a single term. Colorado's Democrats are no longer hard to pin down. The party is increasingly dominated by the hard left, and the party has dominated the general assembly going back to 2018. Today, Dems hold both chambers by a two-to-one margin. Whatever they want, they get. How's that workin' out for us? Before we went Full Indigo, Colorado was pretty well run. This is my state — or was, using figures from before 2018: Third in the nation for personal income growth. A regulatory burden in the lower half of all states. Tied for second-lowest unemployment in 2017 at 2.7% — and that wasn’t unusual. Job growth of 2.4% in 2017 — typical for a state that was regularly in the top ten. A top-10 destination for people moving in from other states. Colorado wasn't perfect, but we punched above our weight economically and in sheer beauty. Just 11 years old, I fell in love with Colorado's beauty at first sight. I didn't know anything about economics, but I knew then I'd make this place my home — which I did at 25, three decades ago. And this is my state on Democrats, all taken from the 2024 report card just published by the Denver Gazette: 39th in the nation for personal income growth. Sixth worst regulatory burden in the nation. In March, we had the second-highest unemployment rate (not an atypical month). Job-growth rate of 0.17% (March 2024-March 2025), 43rd in the nation. A bottom-10 destination for people moving in from other states. And across nearly every other metric — schools, housing, homelessness, crime, addiction, even abortion rates — the numbers all go the wrong way. {snip} I've written already this year about Colorado's new worst-in-the-nation gun control law, and about Gov. Jared Polis's pantomime "will he/won't he" act over signing it into law. There's likely more to come, too, with talk of an "arsenal law" restricting how many guns the state shall deign we may own. For 45 years, I always thought I'd die in Colorado. Now, like so many others, I'm dying to get out. Thanks, Dems. https://pjmedia.com/vodkapundit/2025/05/07/f-is-for-democrat-colorados-collapse-under-on-party-rule-n4939561
  6. Interesting take Top economist Mohamed El-Erian breaks ranks with Wall Street and says Powell should resign Alex Harring Mohamed El-Erian on Tuesday called for Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell to voluntarily relinquish his position in order to ensure the central bank’s independence, making the chief economic advisor at Allianz one of the first prominent economists to publicly take such a position. “If Chair Powell’s objective is to safeguard the Fed’s operational autonomy (which I deem vital), then he should resign,” El-Erian said in a morning post on X. El-Erian, also president of Queen’s College at Cambridge University, said he was aware that his view did not align with what he saw as Wall Street consensus that wants Powell to serve out the remainder of his term as chairman, which ends in May 2026. The former co-chief investment officer at Pimco acknowledged, however, that Powell’s resignation would not be a “first best” outcome. But El-Erian said Powell stepping down would be better than the current scenario, in which he said the Fed is facing “growing and broadening threats” to its independence. El-Erian said these threats would likely only increase if Powell remained Fed chair. El-Erian referenced Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s statement that the Fed had suffered from “mission creep” into areas outside of its core monetary policy responsibilities. Bessent told CNBC on Monday that “the entire” Fed should undergo a review. https://www.cnbc.com/2025/07/22/mohamed-el-erian-says-powell-should-resign-to-preserve-fed-independence.html
