  1. True. But when I can legally obtain something, the use of the word banned is questionable. .
  2. So apparently (with some) Truth does not exist. .
  3. I don't know leh-nerd. I just wanted to report that Sara Jane Moore was deceased, You managed to brighten up the Obituaries thread.
  4. FTA: Gutfeld answered with a line that should settle the debate for anyone paying attention to the realities of public life: “The left calls Trump a hatemonger. They have called me a hatemonger because I ridicule … the left, I ridicule protesters, I ridicule academia, Hollywood, the news media. I make fun of The View every day. I make fun of the UN. Guess what? No one acts on the things that I say because my side doesn’t do that.” There’s a crucial distinction there. Gutfeld didn’t say that conservatives never use ugly words. He said that conservatives don’t weaponize that language into violence. “We say people are stupid, we say people are wrong, but we don’t say they’re evil,” he told her. That’s exactly the point too many on the left refuse to grasp: Rhetoric matters, but context and follow-through matter more. https://pjmedia.com/matt-margolis/2025/09/24/greg-gutfeld-just-nuked-jessica-tarlov-again-n4944083#google_vignette
  5. ED MORRISSEY: White House: Nice Swamp Ya Got There, Chuck. Shame If Something Happened to It. Of course, even with the spin, that still leaves Trump in charge of any shutdown. As I explained on Tuesday, that would give any aspiring swamp-draining president plenty of opportunity to hammer Democrats’ constituencies, but even I may have underestimated Trump’s ambition. The Wall Street Journal reports today that they will use any shutdown as an opportunity for permanent mass firings, not just furloughs: The White House’s budget office directed federal agencies to draw up plans to permanently reduce their workforces if there is a government shutdown next week, raising the specter of mass firings on top of the customary furloughs during a lapse in funding. The new memo sent by Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought sharply raises the stakes for funding talks and increases the pressure on Senate Democrats, who are demanding that Republicans restore hundreds of billions of dollars in healthcare spending as a condition of their support for keeping the government funded. The White House’s budget office directed federal agencies to draw up plans to permanently reduce their workforces if there is a government shutdown next week, raising the specter of mass firings on top of the customary furloughs during a lapse in funding. “Sharply raises the stakes”? You better believe it, Chuck. Vought makes clear, too, that the cuts will get targeted in accordance with Trump’s priorities: The OMB memo instructs agencies to design reduction-in-force plans for employees who work for programs that have no current funding and have no outside funding source, and that are “not consistent with the President’s priorities.” This would be in addition to any temporary furloughs that happen during a government shutdown. The memo from Vought says that any cuts made after the funding deadline would be permanent. https://hotair.com/ed-morrissey/2025/09/25/white-house-nice-swamp-ya-got-there-chuck-shame-if-something-happened-to-it-n3807167 John Nolte adds, “Trump can’t lose here. Democrats will be blamed for the shutdown. Bureaucrats will be fired. On the other hand, if Democrats cave and vote for the continuing resolution, their base will be furious. Additionally, these insane demands from Democrats have already been made public, which will haunt them going into the midterms.” https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2025/09/25/nolte-trump-plans-mass-firings-bureaucrats-if-dems-shut-down-government/ Or as Ed Morrissey writes, “Nice box canyon ahead of you, Chuck.” Jim Geraghty concurs: Democrats Prepare to March into a Box Canyon by Shutting Down the Government. “Do you envision Trump making significant concessions to ease the pain and suffering of federal government workers? No, I don’t, either. Schumer and the Democrats will have gotten themselves into a high-stakes fight with Trump where one of the party’s key constituencies — government workers — feel the most pain, and it gets worse the longer it drags on.” https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/democrats-prepare-to-march-into-a-box-canyon-by-shutting-down-the-government/ .
  6. So Much for the ‘Trump Recession’ Democrats Really, Really Wanted. By Matt Margolis Democrats spent the 2024 campaign warning that Donald Trump would wreck the economy. Voters rejected that doomsday pitch and put him back in the White House. Ever since, Democrats have predicted collapse at every turn. In their telling, America was always either on the brink of recession or already in one — all because of Trump. But reality keeps stubbornly getting in the way. Instead of crashing, the economy keeps climbing. The latest Commerce Department report shows second-quarter GDP growth didn’t just top expectations — it crushed them. On Thursday, the Bureau of Economic Analysis released its third and final estimate of second-quarter growth, and the results blew through the doomsday chatter from the left. The economy expanded at a robust annualized rate of 3.8% from April through June, far above the 3.3% forecast and higher than the initial estimate of 3.0%. Consumer spending, long a key barometer of economic strength, also came in hotter than analysts had anticipated. Services in particular saw a strong revision upward, led by transportation, financial services, and insurance. Goods spending wasn’t as strong overall, thanks to a downward revision, but Americans still put plenty of money into motor vehicles and parts. For all the media chatter about consumer pessimism, the numbers show just the opposite: Americans are spending, and they’re spending big. {snip} Markets expect the Federal Reserve to move forward with two more 25-basis-point rate cuts this year, following the cut of that size at last week's meeting. https://pjmedia.com/matt-margolis/2025/09/25/so-much-for-the-trump-recession-democrats-wanted-n4944097 https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/us-economy-q2-2025-final
  7. Ex-Antifa Activist Praises Trump’s Decision to Name the Group ‘Domestic Terrorists.’ A former Antifa activist is praising Donald Trump's executive order that designates the group as "domestic terrorists." Gabriel Nadales left Antifa when his politics changed "There's this idea that Antifa is merely an idea and, to an extent, that is true, but antifa is a very collective or a specified set of ideas that believes in political violence to enact its own political goals. That is literally the definition of terrorism," he said. "So if you call Antifa just an idea, it is literally the idea of terrorism itself." https://pjmedia.com/rick-moran/2025/09/25/ex-antifa-activist-praises-trumps-decision-to-name-the-group-domestic-terrorists-n4944096 How far will the Constitution and the First Amendment stretch to accommodate Trump's executive order?
  8. White House says to prep for mass firings if government shuts down Well, this is interesting: If the Senate Democrats continue to block the CR, Trump will have free reign to clean house, and the workers/unions will have no reasonable basis to argue against the firing of people from unfunded jobs in Court. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c5y4de02x3wo
  9. We have always had misled souls out there Sara Jane Moore, Who Tried To Kill President Ford, Dies In Franklin At 95 Nashville Banner, by Demetria Kalodimos & Steve Cavendish Sara Jane Moore, the would-be assassin of President Gerald Ford, died Wednesday at a nursing facility in Franklin. She was 95. Moore’s death came two days after the 50th anniversary of her attempt to kill Ford outside the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco in 1975. Her actions followed Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme’s attempt to assassinate Ford just 17 days earlier in Sacramento. The two events were unconnected. Moore was sentenced to life in prison. She attempted to escape in 1979, but was captured after a few hours. She was released on parole in 2007. https://nashvillebanner.com/2025/09/24/sara-jane-moore-dies-gerald-ford/ .
