WE DON’T HAVE A PRESIDENT Joe Biden is nominally our president, but he is manifestly incapable of discharging the duties of that office. Opinions vary as to who our “real” president is. Some say it is Barack Obama. Some say it is Jill Biden. Others describe a network of political influence within the Congress and the purported “Biden Administration.” But one thing we know for sure is that our chief executive is not the pitiful shell of a man known as Joe Biden, who at his best, decades ago, was dumb, and now is in la-la-land. I am sincerely sympathetic to the poor, frail shell of a man who is now Joe Biden. By rights, he should be living out his last days in a wheel chair in a nursing home. Instead, by a bizarre twist of fate, he was tapped to run against Donald Trump as the “normal” candidate in 2020, and, because Trump is so unpopular, managed to be elected president. Now, in a truly wacko “Weekend at Bernie’s” moment, the Democrats apparently are going to run him up the flagpole again. It is hard to see any of this as something other than late-stage democracy in action. https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2024/01/we-dont-have-a-president.php

This letter was delivered to senior members of the House and Senate on Jan 17th. And yet, the Senate wants amnesty for these people. https://justthenews.com/sites/default/files/2024-01/Scan Jan 24%2C 2024 at 3.43 PM.pdf -

30 Hours on Biden's Open Border Spencer Brown RIO GRANDE VALLEY, TEXAS — Massive gaps in the border wall, piles of broken ladders, barely hidden smuggling routes, deadly vehicle crash sites, overwhelmed processing facilities off-limits to reporters, and nearly two dozen illegal immigrants encountered by Border Patrol. All this and more was witnessed in barely 30 hours spent embedded with a bipartisan congressional delegation at the U.S.-Mexico border to see the results of Biden's border policies first-hand. Drones flown by Mexican cartels were in the air on Friday night as I rode shotgun with National Border Patrol Council Vice President Chris Cabrera along the border wall in Hidalgo, Texas. Just a few blocks from the official port of entry where safe and legal crossings of the border can take place, we watched as 22 immigrants who illegally entered the U.S. by crossing the Rio Grande walked up to the border wall and turned themselves in to claim asylum. According to Cabrera, all 22 will be processed and released into the U.S. with initial court dates as far as six years away. https://townhall.com/columnists/spencerbrown/2024/01/23/30-hours-on-bidens-open-border-n2634010 . -
Andrew McCarthy: It Is Not Texas That’s Defying the Law — It’s Biden. FTA: This dispute will play out politically more than legally. The “Civil War” talk is hyperbole, driven by Democrats who grasp that Biden’s position is not politically sustainable, especially with Election Day just months away. This is why Biden is desperate to cut a deal with moderate Senate Republicans. When that falls apart — not because of Donald Trump’s machinations but because it is a terrible deal for the country — Biden will either have to cave (i.e., engage in actual border enforcement and refrain from interfering in state border enforcement) or seek election as the president who is suing the beleaguered people of Texas on behalf of illegal aliens — having ushered into the country more than 6 million of them (more than the population of 33 states). “When it is said that the states must comply with federal law, that means statutory law, not the whims of the executive branch. Biden’s policy is not federal law. Federal law, which the president refuses to faithfully execute, calls for detention. As I have explained before, Biden’s actions are in gross violation of the law.” https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/it-is-not-texas-thats-defying-the-law-its-biden/

JOHN LUCAS: The Press Misleads – The Supreme Court has not Eliminated Texas’ Right to Defend Its Property. “The Court’s order vacated an injunction previously entered by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals that had prohibited the Government from damaging or destroying Texas’ wire. The Supreme Court’s order has been the subject of widespread and sometimes fiery commentary. However, the press and commentators are misanalysing the order. Governor Abbott and Texas are still free to prevent the feds from cutting their wire. The Supreme Court’s order does not forbid that. The press is misleading you. . . . The reason that the press and other commentators and critics are incorrect is that they apparently fail to understand the limited effect of vacating an injunction. After the Supreme Court’s order vacating the injunction, the status quo was the same as it was prior to the TRO ever being entered: There is no court order prohibiting the Government from taking down the wire AND there likewise is no Supreme Court order or opinion saying that the Government had a right to take down the wire. Nor is there an order by any court that Texas cannot protect its own property, namely the concertina wire.” https://johnalucas6.substack.com/p/the-press-misleads-the-supreme-court I believe he’s right about that. One small correction: The Texas State Guard (not to be confused with the Texas National Guard) is indeed immune to federal control, but it is not a “state militia.” It is better understood as troops raised with the consent of Congress under Article I section 10 of the Constitution. https://instapundit.com/628802/ .

CNN’s Van Jones Says the Quiet Part Out Loud About Joe Biden MATT MARGOLIS “If I were Biden, I would... I would stay hidden,” Jones said during a panel discussion after the New Hampshire primaries. “And I’ll tell you why — he doesn’t inspire confidence. And he’s not a great messenger for himself." Of course, after throwing Biden under the bus, he had to go into the obligatory Biden Praise Mode to make up for the fact that he basically said that Biden is a liability to his own campaign. https://pjmedia.com/matt-margolis/2024/01/25/cnns-van-jones-says-the-quiet-part-out-loud-about-joe-biden-n4925835 .

HALF of all US governors side with Texas in border dispute over security and say he is leaving country open to 'invasion' from illegal migrants by Stephen M. Lepore Over half of America's governors are backing Texas' Greg Abbott in his bitter standoff with President Joe Biden over who should have the authority to apprehend migrants at the border. Abbott reasserted the state's right to protect its own border after the Supreme Court ruled the Biden administration could take down razor wire Texas had installed along high-traffic areas of the border. Meanwhile Texas Border Czar Mike Banks told ranchers Wednesday the state could install razor wire on their private property free of charge, the state official told a packed room of ranchers who met just outside of Eagle Pass, Texas. Abbott said the federal government failed at its duty https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13009037/governors-Texas-border-dispute-security.html

Report: The Obamas 'Working' to Take Biden 'Out' of Race, Barack Telling Him to Quit by Nick Arama There have been multiple reports about Barack Obama and his aides being worried about how Joe Biden and his teams were conducting their campaign. Obama was supposedly worried about the strength of Donald Trump and that the Biden campaign wasn't hitting the ground running. Obama aides put a sharper point on that, admitting that the "bromance" with Joe Biden was always exaggerated and that the Biden campaign "didn’t have its s--- together," https://redstate.com/nick-arama/2024/01/25/report-barack-obama-telling-biden-to-drop-out-and-what-michelle-thinks-about-race-n2169181 Well, that's Redstate propaganda, I don't believe that. . . . . . . . .
