MSNBC goes to barbershop, learns from black voters why they are considering Trump FTA: Lee told MSNBC host Katy Tur that he discovered on his trip to South Carolina that black men fall into "three buckets" regarding the upcoming election. "Those who are planning on voting for Joe Biden again even though they're not excited," he explained, "those who are considering voting for Donald Trump, and those who will sit out altogether and take some sort of off ramp out of the process." Trump isn't going to win a majority of the vote from black voters in 2024 because no Republican ever has. But it's clear that black Americans are tired of the Democratic Party never delivering on its promises while assuming black voters are a monolith who will remain loyal to the Democratic Party no matter what. Look no farther than a USA Today/Suffolk University poll, which last month found that Biden commands support from just 63% of black voters. That's a serious decline from the 92% that Biden won four years ago. https://rumble.com/v4azh4r-with-trump-we-had-money-what-these-black-voters-told-msnbc-could-spell-bad-.html

CHRISTIAN TOTO: HBO-Max Adds Trigger Warning to Blazing Saddles. Yes, you must be lectured about “Blazing Saddles” because you’re too stupid to process satire in its highest forms. Yet Max understands how beloved the film, and Brooks, remain and cannot say there’s anything actually wrong or offensive about the film. It’s unclear when the video introduction first hit the streaming platform, but a Twitter user alerted the platform to the shift on Feb. 5. https://www.hollywoodintoto.com/max-trigger-warning-blazing-saddles/ NOTE: Both Netflix and Paramount+ include “Blazing Saddles” on their content rosters without trigger warnings. -

3 US Troops Killed, 25 injured in Jordan

The real reason Joe Biden won't punish Iran President Biden has been widely criticized for not retaliating against Iran with its proxies targeting US troops. This is the elephant in the room By Liz Peek Is President Joe Biden scared of starting a broader war if he attacks Iran? Or is he worried about gasoline prices going up, torching his reelection bid? The pusillanimous response of Biden to attacks on U.S. troops has enraged critics. Many want the president, who pledged to hold accountable "all those responsible" for the deaths of three U.S. soldiers, to strike Iran. To go after the head of the snake and squash Tehran’s ability to fund and train the terrorists who continue to attack U. S. personnel. He won’t do it. Why? Because he’s scared to death that hitting Iran’s oil fields or export facilities would drive global oil prices higher, and boost the cost of gasoline in the U.S. Gas at the pump might go back to $5 per gallon, a record reached in 2022; Biden, already a massively unpopular president, cannot tolerate that. Nothing drags down his approval ratings faster than skyrocketing prices at the pump; in an election year, he will do everything possible to make sure that doesn’t happen. This, folks, is the elephant in the room. https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/real-reason-joe-biden-wont-punish-iran . -
Dartmouth Becomes First Ivy League University to Reinstate Standardized-Testing Requirement by Caroline Downey Dartmouth College will restore its SAT requirement for admissions beginning with the Class of 2029, making it the first Ivy League university to reinstate the testing requirement after doing away with it after Covid. In an email to the university community, Dartmouth president Sian Beilock wrote that the decision to reimplement the standardized test was made in response to a faculty study which found that “standardized test scores are an important predictor of a student’s success in Dartmouth’s curriculum” regardless of a “student’s background or family income. https://www.nationalreview.com/news/dartmouth-becomes-first-ivy-league-university-to-reinstate-standardized-testing-requirement/ .

Argentina’s new president arrives in Israel, reiterates pledge to move embassy to Jerusalem Times of Israel ^ | 2/6/24 | Lazar Berman Foreign Minister Israel Katz welcomes Argentinian President Javier Milei upon his arrival to Israel at Ben Gurion Airport. Milei, who assumed office in December, reiterates his pledge to move Argentina’s embassy to Jerusalem. Katz thanks Milei, who made Israel his first bilateral overseas destination as president, for his support for Israel against Hamas and for recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. “You are a person of values who is committed only to the truth,” Katz tells Milei, speaking through a translator, “and it is no wonder that you chose to come to Israel right away to support us in the just struggle for the defense of the Jewish people against the murderers of Hamas.” Milei will visit the Western Wall and meet President Isaac Herzog later today, and is slated to meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tomorrow. He brought Argentina’s Foreign Minister Diana Mondino and his personal Rabbi Shimon Axel Wahnish along with him on the three-day trip. Wahnish is expected to become Argentina’s ambassador to Israel. While Milei is not Jewish, he has expressed an interest in Judaism and has talked about potentially converting to the religion. Milei heads for Italy and the Vatican on Thursday, where he will meet with Pope Francis and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/argentinas-new-president-arrives-in-israel-reiterates-pledge-to-move-embassy-to-jerusalem/
