Of Course, DNC Has Quietly Been Paying Biden's Legal Fees JOHN SEXTON If you've heard any of the talking points coming out of the Biden camp in the last few weeks, you've probably heard the one about Trump's legal bills. But it turns out that even as the Biden campaign and the DNC were making that case, the DNC was also paying Biden's legal bills. Here's Biden's campaign finance chairman Rufus Gifford appearing on MSNBC Sunday. "Every single dime that you give the Biden-Harris election campaign, we spend talking to voters," he said. He added, "We are not spending money on legal bills." This clip of Gifford saying all of that was posted on YouTube by the DNC along with links so people could make donations. But even as they were making this case, the DNC was in fact spending nearly $2 million on Biden's lawyers. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/04/12/us/politics/biden-legal-bills-dnc.html https://hotair.com/john-s-2/2024/04/12/of-course-dnc-has-quietly-been-paying-bidens-legal-fees-n3786400

Mississippi House and Senate pass ‘Women’s Bill of Rights.’ The Mississippi House of Representatives and Senate passed a bill dubbed as the “Women’s Bill of Rights,” protecting women and girls from males seeking to enter female-only spaces and competitions by identifying as transgender. Mississippi HB 1607 ties the words “man,” “woman,” “boy,” “girl,” “male,” and “female” to sex. It deals with athletics, shelters, and prisons, and was passed by the Mississippi Senate on Wednesday after the House passed the bill. Independent Women’s Forum spokeswoman Paula Scanlan said that the bill also helps victims of domestic violence. “There are places like shelters and women’s prisons,” said Scanlan. “We’re hearing stories across the country of women going to women-only shelters after being abused and their abuser is able to follow them because they show up to the shelter and say they identify (as) a woman. And there’s nothing in law to prevent someone who thinks that they are a woman from entering that space, and that puts victims of domestic violence into very dangerous situations.” https://www.campusreform.org/article/mississippi-house-senate-pass-womens-bill-rights/25193 I wonder how many lefties will speak out against this, and reveal themselves as anti-woman.

HOW DESPERATE IS THE BIDEN CAMPAIGN? The stock market was down sharply again today, as a result of fears of resurgent inflation. Inflation is second only to senility as a threat to Joe Biden’s campaign, and the campaign is desperate to find an answer. How desperate? They plan to blame Donald Trump: Which is absurd, of course. A beat later, he added a veiled shot at his Republican opponent, former President Donald J. Trump. Every word and phrase in that statement is a lie. Remember the good old days when “news” outlets like the Washington Post kept a running tally of the alleged lies told by President Trump? If you did that with Biden you would run out of digits. The New York Times, in the linked story, admits that Biden stretches the truth just a bit: More at the link: https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2024/04/how-desperate-is-the-biden-campaign.php .

Bombshell Hearing Set, Three D.C. National Guard Officers to Expose January 6th Committee The now-defunct January 6th committee is set to take another gut punch after the emergence of three whistleblowers from the Washington, D.C., National Guard. According to The Daily Mail, which first reported the revelation, the three officers will testify that then-President Donald Trump and then-Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller did approve the deployment of the guard to help secure the Capitol Grounds. A hearing has been set for Wednesday in front of the House Oversight Subcommittee, chaired by Rep. Barry Loudermilk. {snip} This is all astonishing stuff, though not surprising when you consider who made up the January 6th committee. It was always a tool to politically influence elections (both 2022 and 2024), not a tool to reveal the truth and provide substantive suggestions on how to prevent future issues. The goal was to make it all about Trump despite it being clear he had no advance knowledge of the riot and that he tried to provide more strident security. Unfortunately, the January 6th committee members, some of whom are out of government at this point, will get away with it. The best Republicans can do is expose them and hope Americans respond to the corruption. https://redstate.com/bonchie/2024/04/12/new-bombshell-hearing-set-three-dc-national-guard-officers-to-expose-january-6th-committee-n2172686

Jaw-dropping number of migrants arrive in San Diego in a single week as officials reveal 7,000 illegally crossed by MaryAnn Martinez San Diego saw a staggering 6,997 migrant encounters in just seven days at the start of April in an alarming indicator of the worsening border crisis, DailyMail.com can reveal. The number is around the same as other sectors normally see in an entire month, and only reflects those who were caught - meaning the true scale is likely higher. 'Unfortunately, I'm not surprised,' San Diego County Commissioner Jim Desmond told DailyMail.com Thursday. 'Texas is clamping down and other areas are clamping down. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/texas/article-13301563/Jaw-dropping-number-migrants-arrive-San-Diego-single-week-nearly-7000-migrants-illegally-crossed.html .

The fact that the proposed legislation was NOT going to solve the border problem at all and waste millions of taxpayer money was not important I guess. I mean Mitch said so. . -
TRUTH: “Covid” Didn’t Destroy Businesses and Lives; The Government Did. It is time to stop blaming “Covid” for breaking the economy, destroying businesses and livelihoods, and wreaking untold havoc upon families. It was not “Covid” that did this. It was not even the Chinese. It was our government. The government has conditioned us to blame the impersonal “Covid” for the destruction it wrought upon our businesses and families. We need to change the discussion by using the proper language to fix the blame where it belongs. . . . Covid did not make the insane decision to close down gyms while leaving liquor stores open; the government did. Covid did not prevent us from going to worship at the church of our choice; the government did. Covid did not chase down and try to arrest bikers, surfers, joggers, and others engaged in outdoor exercise; the government did. Covid did not prevent families from holding and comforting their parents and grandparents during their final hours of life; the government did. Covid did not shut down our schools; the government did (aided and abetted by Randi Weingarten and the teachers’ unions). Covid did not set arbitrary limits on how far apart we should stand everywhere from in grocery stores to national parks, how many people should attend Thanksgiving dinner or other family gatherings in our own homes, while either remaining silent or actively encouraging mass Black Lives Matter demonstrations; the government health bureaucracy and little totalitarians, such as Anthony Fauci and the ‘Scarf Lady,’ Deborah Birx, did. And the press was complicit all the way. https://johnalucas6.substack.com/p/covid-didnt-destroy-businesses-and .

And the 2024 Race Begins

Makes good sense. Trump Wants More Debates, but Perhaps Not for the Reason You’re Thinking MATT MARGOLIS The Trump campaign is pressing for additional 2024 presidential debates, saying they should happen "much earlier" than the initial timetable proposed by the Commission on Presidential Debates. Fox News Digital obtained an exclusive letter that reveals that Trump's co-campaign managers, Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita, addressed the Commission on Presidential Debates co-chairs, Frank Fahrenkopf Jr. and Antonia Hernandez, on Thursday. "While the Commission on Presidential Debates has already announced three presidential debates and a vice-presidential debate to occur later this year, we are in favor of these debates beginning much earlier," they explained. It stands to reason that the Trump campaign sees Biden as a frail old man with diminished cognitive health, and that's why he wants more debates much earlier. But the reason they are calling for a change in the debate schedule is actually objectively practical. "Specific to the Commission's proposed 2024 calendar, it simply comes too late," they wrote. "By the date of the first proposed debate, September 16, 2024, over 1 million Americans will have likely voted. By the date of the second proposed debate, October 1, 2024, the number of Americans who will have likely cast a ballot will be over 3 million, an increase of 225%." They estimate that by the third proposed debate on October 9, barely a month before the election, "approximately 8.7 million Americans will have already voted." https://pjmedia.com/matt-margolis/2024/04/11/trump-wants-more-debates-but-perhaps-not-for-the-reason-youre-thinking-n4928095 Of course, I think that the chances that Biden's handlers allow him to debate is zero. . -

Devastating new details reveal more State Department chaos in the two weeks before the Afghanistan disaster: U.S. staff STILL didn't have a full evacuation plan when the Taliban stormed Kabul... by Rob Crilly Hours of private testimony by two of the top State Department officials who oversaw the evacuation from Afghanistan lays bare the confusion at the heart of the operation, and how they failed to respond to warning signs that the Taliban was sweeping across the country. The result was a chaotic operation at Kabul's airport in August 2021 with Americans scrambling to get on flights after the extremist group had seized control of the country. American citizens had to pass through checkpoints run by the same gunmen who had spent years battling U.S. forces. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13293745/donald-trump-afghanistan-withdrawal-investigation-house.html .

As most of you know, abortion is sucking up most of the headlines in the legacy media at the moment despite there being no significant federal legislation or pending Supreme Court cases addressing the topic. That's because the Democrats are running on abortion for this year's elections, lacking any other positive achievements to point to. But what about Donald Trump? He hasn't been quiet on the subject, but his current position isn't making many people in the staunchly pro-life movement happy. He is being decried by some of his former supporters for a number of comments he's recently made. But will that cost him at the polls in November? National Review suggests that it potentially could, but when you pull back the lens a bit, it seems unlikely. Trump's position on abortion is fairly basic and it's one that has been enthusiastically pushed forward by conservative analysts who are fighting to ensure that the GOP doesn't suffer yet another embarrassing loss to the most unpopular president of the modern era. The Supreme Court returned the abortion question to the states and that is where it belongs. Trump is taking credit for placing several of the justices that overturned Roe, which is what the pro-life crowd claimed they wanted for decades. Now he's ready to move on and let the Constitution serve as our guide. https://hotair.com/jazz-shaw/2024/04/11/has-trump-filed-for-a-divorce-from-the-pro-life-movement-n3786308 .

Hamas May Not Have Enough Living Hostages for Cease-Fire Deal Conservative criminal defense attorney and columnist Marina Medvin called it a "devastating Hostage negotiations update" because that's exactly what it is. In the ongoing negotiations between Israel and the Hamas terror organization, Hamas officials now say that "they wouldn’t commit to releasing 40 living hostages but could commit to 40 hostages total, dead or alive." "Instead, the militant group has been unable to confirm that it has enough civilian hostages to fulfill its end of the deal in the initial phase of the proposed plan," according to the Wall Street Journal. Medvin added, "Israeli military did not comment on estimates of how many hostages may remain alive." Sometimes, there's nothing worse than being right, and this is one of those times. Two weeks ago, I came to the sad conclusion that Hamas probably has "few or no living hostages left to trade. Through abuse, neglect, or just Hamas terrorists getting its thrills, the hostages might all be dead." The hostages include — or, I should say, included — six Americans that, to the best of my knowledge, Presidentish Joe Biden has never raised as an issue with Hamas. I also can't find any record of Biden mentioning any of those six Americans by name. That might be an unprecedented (but certainly intentional) lapse by an American president. It also gives lie to Biden's claim that his support for Israel is "ironclad" since he won't provide as little as lip service to Hamas' American hostages. https://www.wsj.com/world/middle-east/hamas-may-not-have-enough-living-hostages-for-cease-fire-deal-61606c66
