LAMP warning! Stayed in the central FL area a couple of extra days on a work trip in late 2000 and went to the space center to try for a ticket for STS-97 but they were sold out. Expected to be able to grab or scalp a single ticket but nothing was available. Launch was late (~10pm) and it was the 1st attempt so I knew it was a long shot but I figured I'd never get this chance again so I scouted out the transportation. There were two queuing areas, one for the general public and one VIP shuttle. Got into the VIP waiting area easily enough but the buses were too well monitored to be able to board w/o a pass. Waited around for a bit and when a guard asked for my pass I told him I was waiting for someone. He led me to the will call window area. Started talking to a girl behind the counter and convinced her that I was waiting for my friend from Lockheed who had a ticket for me. Kept 'looking' for him at the bus area but the guards were getting annoyed so I had to keep shuffling to keep from getting removed from the area. Was just about to give up when the girl I had been talking to tapped me on the shoulder and got me on a bus. VIP area is just outside the museum. A set of bleachers just in front of the lake. Saw a couple of Senators, misc minor celebs and the astronauts families in the crowd. The launch was amazing. Took some pictures but they didn't do it justice. Always considered this one of my finest scams. Not sure if it's possible today as this was pre 9/11 but you never know. Good luck.

Simple explanation: You can't photograph a ghost.

SH has a policy of cutting sales of any tickets that need to be mailed several days prior to the games. The ones left are those that are in SH's hand by a seller proving them to SH in advance (LMS == Last Minute Services). [Need to keep the seller and buyer from making contact to keep getting their cut.] Usually you can get tickets (theoretically up until game time) through the NFL barter base (for STs they kill the barcode on the seller's original tickets and send new email tickets to the buyer) but probably not for this game since they were not sold as part of the ST package. Kudos to the guessers. You can always count on the wall for an answer, just not the right one. If you decide to drive to the game pick me up in Utica and I'll split the drive and cost with you. Don't forget your passport.

Thanks for the bumps but it looks like their are no good samaritans out there. On the plus size I'm sure this will insure a kick-azz stomping of the phins.

Thanks for the thoughts guys (plus it's a nice bump). Not adverse to hitching there; it's the way back that would be the challenge. Wanted to catch the BS ring presentation but if no offers come in I'll catch the game at home.

One of the??? Were there any ST that didn't get called? They even left the callback number with a pin to get in 20 minutes before tha call. Surprised it wasn't posted. What surprises me most is that anyone thought they would really get a one on two (or even 100 on two, 1000 on two...) conversation with Wilson/Jackson. Just the FO lubing us up for next year.

Great, let the Chargers move and get a fire sale on their stadium. Better city and less hollywood wannabees grabbing the good seats. Good weather for our west coast QBs and marketability of the Dec and Jan games. And the Mexicans can counter the loss of Canadian seats. Plus Tijuana is a trade-up from the Canadian follies.

Agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment but please don't refer to the Toronto games as home games. Home games have more Bills fans than opponents (although it may be close this week) and the great tailgating you referred to. I like to think of it as outsourcing. Increases the Bills bottom line and helps the ST consumer by eliminating one useless PS game (with no annoying Indian accent).

Even sadder is that the decision was made in the days of analog coverage. Doubt the footprint has been checked since the Digital changeover. And it would be much easier these days to (un?)tweak the signal to lose Farmer Joe and gain the Bills. But knowing the NFL they would probably grandfather the blackout anyways.

If you like the Zebb's atmosphere fine (think applebees or the kind of place the Wendy's commercials make fun of for serving $7 orders of wings) but if you want a drinkers bar go the Griff's on Columbia St in Utica. They have the ticket and just put in nine HD screens along the bar. $4.50 wings, as hot as you want (but sneak in the BC and celery, they charge $1.50 extra for it). Also you can count on a least one cute barmaid. Be sure to have a shot with the owner Tony if he's around. Probably a few others along Varick St, just up the road, have the Ticket but I recommend Griff's.
