TNF: Steelers at Pats** NBC 8:30 est
faderphreak replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It'd be nice to watch this game but DirectTV is out. Tried calling twice and after the automated system failed and tried to fix it got connected to a dial tone. The screen now reads "NO NEED TO CALL US. Service will be restored as soon as technical difficuties are resolved..." blah blah blah. They better get this crap sorted by Sunday... Note to self. Pick up an HD antenna. -

Preseason Game 4: Bills at Lions

Fair enough. Of course Bruce bought some leeway with the majority of his play. I agree about Simms play tonight. He has had a few crap plays but he has not been given a lot of time. I do like the way he continues to look downfield as he moves up towards the line of scrimmage -

How the hell can you line up off sides twice in one game? Seriously? -

That is why I felt someone must have told him to do it. You would think a guy trying to make the team on special teams prowess would take every shot he could to make a statement. -

I feel like someone must have told Thigpen not to return some of these kicks for situational reasons. -

Hooray. Someone at the NFL Gamepass command center clearly made an adjustment. Low res but at least it was running at a watchable frame rate and as I type it freezes and dies again. Seriously? If I were a betting man I would bet that they were not prepared for the bandwidth needs of all the people that would jump on Gamepasss when everyone who suddenly found that the NFL blacked out NFL network nationwide tried to sign in. Just stupid -

So, NFL network is blacked blacked out in Saint Petersburg. There is no local coverage. Aaaaannnnd. Gamepass is running at about 12 frames a minute with an 82 Mbps connection. Way to go NFL, way to go. <insert one minute string of expletives here> -

Wow. I was really hoping to get Tomlinson. After hearing his interview I have to say that while that may have been a bit of a reach that he gives the impression of being hell of a human being. -
Vince Wilfork is available (update - goes to Texans)
faderphreak replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm totally against the Bills bringing him on board. Although playing devil's advocate, siging him would be one way to ensure he wasn't going after the knees of Bills quarterbacks. Then again, he may get confused and do it in practice as a force of habit -

This team needs a players only meeting. To this point they have not demonstrated much heart. Oh, and Hacket coudn't call an 800 number, let alone a game. The only preson he ever outsmarts is himself. -

This is such f'ing BS. I know that it is the Bills fault for the turnovers, etc., but clearly we are not good enough to overcome fixed officiating. Pats are allowed to hold, run picks, and push off. The exact same plays for the Bills are penalties. -
I hate to be a downer but ... Robert Woods ....
faderphreak replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For an apples to apples comparison here is a list of the 2nd round receievers to consider going back to 2004 (source: http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2014/05/03/4884867/nfl-draft-a-decade-of-wide-receiver.html) How many receivers on this list had similar starts and went on to very productive careers? My guess is plenty. How many never amounted to anything in the league? Even more. Moral of the story? It is way too soon to make a final judgement on how good of a receiver Robert Woods is yet. By the logic of the OP the Bears Alshon Jeffery "is simply not that great of a WR" as Robert Woods outgained him by over 200 yards (AJ 367 < RW 587) in a comparison of rookie years. I started doing the work and realized that is exactlty what a monumental waste of time and resources this would be on such an obvious attempt to troll for views. I'm going back to reseaching which politician is going to F me less when I go to the polls in about a month. 34 Justin Hunter Titans 2013 41 Robert Woods Bills 2013 59 Aaron Dobson Patriots 2013 33 Brian Quick Rams 2012 43 Stephen Hill Jets 2012 45 Alshon Jeffery Bears 2012 54 Ryan Broyles Lions 2012 63 Rueben Randle Giants 2012 44 Titus Young Lions 2011 58 Torrey Smith Ravens 2011 59 Greg Little Browns 2011 64 Randall Cobb Packers 2011 36 Dexter McCluster Chiefs 2010 39 Arrelious Benn Buccaneers 2010 60 Golden Tate Seahawks 2010 36 Brian Robiskie Browns 2009 50 Mohamed Massaquoi Browns 2009 33 Donnie Avery Rams 2008 34 Devin Thomas Redskins 2008 36 Jordy Nelson Packers 2008 41 James Hardy Bills 2008 42 Eddie Royal Broncos 2008 46 Jerome Simpson Bengals 2008 49 DeSean Jackson Eagles 2008 51 Malcolm Kelly Redskins 2008 53 Limas Sweed Steelers 2008 58 Dexter Jackson Buccaneers 2008 44 Sidney Rice Vikings 2007 45 Dwayne Jarrett Panthers 2007 51 Steve Smith Giants 2007 36 Chad Jackson Patriots 2006 44 Sinorice Moss Giants 2006 52 Greg Jennings Packers 2006 35 Reggie Brown Eagles 2005 39 Mark Bradley Bears 2005 55 Roscoe Parrish Bills 2005 58 Terrence Murphy Packers 2005 61 Vincent Jackson Chargers 2005 50 Devery Henderson Saints 2004 54 Darius Watts Broncos 2004 62 Keary Colbert Panthers 2004 -

A friend of mine with some rather nefarious connections used to chide me for watching the NFL, intimating inside information that the league was as fixed as the WWF was scripted. Based on what I have seen this season in genreral and this game in particular, I really cant help but think he was right. This is bull**** -

Allow me to clarify. I was taking a sip of coffee, reading through the posts when I read Promo's post. Subsequently I nearly spit out my coffee.
