The problem with this thread is we're comparing a 10 year vet with a first year starter, nearly a rookie, and there's no consensus who is better. The 10 year vet should be a hell of a lot better than the rookie. When we first went down by 7, who out there thought we were coming back with Holcomb? At least with JP out there he can throw the long ball and we may get lucky and score a quick 7. Then again, once our defense decided to play like they have been playing the rest of the year, there was no chance to win with either QB.

The Bills were supposed to be like the Bears this season. Young QB just learning the ropes with a great defense to help him along. Ahhh, what might have been.....

How does Jp not starting this week mean he is a quitter? Where does it say JP told the coach he couldn't play? Mularkey said earlier if JP is not able to practice enough, he won't start. Its pretty simple, but go ahead everyone, have your fun.

I would not worry about a QB this year. The OL MUST be improved before we can truly evaluate Losman or even bring in someone new and expect him to produce. Bringing in a new QB will keep us in the same boat we are in now.

Great report Nick! Enjoyed reading it. A lot of interesting tidbits in there about the team.

At least he has a Super Bowl on his resume. I'm sure he could get us to a decent record, who knows, maybe even the playoffs.

My first reaction is "Why Not?" For our next coach, I just hope he's experienced. No more of the "hottest" coordinators.

I thought the Bills played fairly well today on both sides of the ball. I'm disappointed in the loss but we did play one of thte better teams in the league today. The defense played fairly well today although it would have been nice if they stopped the Panthers again for a field goal. JP had a decent game and I'm pleased with his performance and can see how much more confident he is out there. Although, he's not getting the yardage, his percentage is much better than the first four games this year. Once again penalties in the red zone hurt us, wish we could put more in the endzone obviously. It hurts that we lost a game that we had a chance to win, but in reality, we are not a playoff team even though we are close to New England in the division. We lost to the better team today, but I did see better play by the defense, better play by JP, and better playcalling. I'm not devastated by this loss like many of you are. Those that are most disappointed must actually think we are a playoff team.

I was just happy that on the play that was intercepted he didn't thow it for only 1 yard. At least he tried for the first. Actually, I think JP did pretty well today and if we ever get some improvement from the OL, I think JP will be much more than just passable.

If we work on nothing but the OL and DL in the Draft and Free Agency, I'd be happy. Thats where we're really hurting. If lines play better everyone else will look better, the QB, RB, WR on offense and the LB's and DB's on defense. Then after next season work on replacing guys like Moulds, Fletcher, et. al.

People can blame the front office all they want, but you said it, it all comes down to the players on the field. They do have talent and they should be playing a hell of a lot better than we have seen.

What else would you expect him to say? If you're thinking of some kind of deep information, thats not going to happen.

Unfortunately, MM signed a 5 year contract. I don't see them getting rid of MM after only 2 years. They'd have to pay him for the next 3 also. This year there will be scapegoats such Tom Clements and Jerry Gray. Those are the guys that will be gone after the season.

You can't blame TD on the pick. At the time we needed a tackle and there were two of them out there, MW and McKinnie. From what I hear, McKinnie isn't really lighting the world on fire either. They were coveted by other team's also, so if TD blew it, so did any other team that had them high on their draft charts.

If you read the book of Sith (I actually listened to the Audio Book, which was great), the duels and fights with Dooku and Grievous lasted much longer, as did the opening battle of the movie. There was a lot more action in the book than the movie actually.

I'd trade down and get a couple of extra picks. We need as many good OL and DL as possible.
