  1. I'll give you EJ's propensity for injury so early in his career is definitely a worry I have. I also think a large part of the problem is Hackett, so far I'm not all that impressed with the offensive scheme considering the weapons we have. Because Geno has only looked good in one game (last night's), maybe two if you count the Bills with a devastated secondary, I would still take EJ. However, I would trade Hackett for Morniwheg (sp) any day of the week.
  2. The biggest difference between EJ and Geno right now, is their Offensive Coordinators/Game Plans. I'm happy with EJ right now, he's looked pretty good over the 5 games he played although the Jets Defensive scheme may have been too much for him, for that I give credit to Rex and his staff. Geno looked great last night against a 1-4 team and looked like crap in a couple of other games. It's still way too early to tell how all of this plays out. I love it how people are writing off EJ already. Personally, I hope they both become good/great NFL QB's and look forward to great match-ups in the future ala Kelly/Marino.
  3. Gotta go with Freeman now. The question is, would he want to come here. He feels he should be the starter and when EJ comes back, there is no way Freeman remains starting QB.
  4. The Kiko hit will probably be fined, but looking at all the instances this season, I don't think they eject anybody.
  5. I would not grab a QB if there was a stud OL right there. You have to look at what else is there for your team needs first. Now if someone wanted to trade up with us, do that in a second.
  6. Don't like the Bills banged up secondary and the offense is way to conservative and predictable, therefore: Ravens 26 Bills 13
  7. Beating the Jets on the road isn't going to be easy, especially since its EJ's first road game with a hostile crowd. Still we should be able to win if we can get pressure on Geno and, most importantly, STOP the stupid penalties!
  8. Its true they have more time, but they still only have one game to really look at and game plan from. They can't really do too much more until they get the film against Carolina. Its not like they can grab all of last season's films and look at those too. I don't think the extra time is an excuse this week.
  9. If I'm not mistaken, I think they put him on IR Designated to Return.
  10. I was very underwhelmed with Geno last night. Almost all of his throws were behind the receivers or underthrown. To me he looked like Fitzpatrick out there, you never knew if it was going to be a good throw or not, even with the receiver wide open.
  11. If Gostkowski misses the game winning field goal, I wonder what the reaction around this place would be. Not Bills stopped them on the winning drive, or Stevie makes the catch, but everything happens exactly the same but they miss the FG.
  12. Some of you guys are expecting way too much from this team so soon. You're criticizing every play like its going to happen constantly. This team is young, the coaching staff is young, it will take time. This is not a Superbowl winning team. Overall, they played okay for the opening game of the season against the dreaded Patriots*, and yes, the Pats* will still be Division champs when this season is over. Some of you think they should have played the perfect game yesterday, give them a break. New coaching staff, new QB, who barely played in the preseason, young receivers and secondary. There was a lot to pleased about for the future of this team. My biggest concern was the penalties. Penalties MUST stop.
  13. Not sure where all the optimism is coming from, must be beginning of new era and season and everyone thinks the Bills are juggernauts. Unfortunately this game will bring many back to reality, Pats* 38 Bills 13. My optimism will start the next two games.
  14. You do realize that at the halfway point there is a very good chance the Bills' record is just that. You have to remember, we have a rookie coach, rookie starting QB, young Receivers after Johnson, a pretty young defense, so yeah, 2-6 is likely. This is not the season to gauge success by win/loss record, this year will be all about how the team is playing in each game and individual progress. Yes, most of this board will be bitching after each loss, especially after week one when we get hammered by the Pats*, but I want to see what we can take from this game and every game after. Next year, I expect an improvement on win/loss record.
  15. Exactly. It would have been tough to beat NE no matter who was starting, this doesn't make it any different. Probably would have been starting the season 0-1 anyway. We're not going anywhere this season and a loss to the Pats* is nothing new. EJ will start as soon as he's healthy.
  16. Voice of logic, awesome! Tuel fans, and I am a Tuel fan and hope he makes the team, need to realize that although this is an open competition, it is not open to all. It is open between Kolb and Manuel. Someone above mentioned a business scenario, in that business scenario you have a seasoned guy (Kolb), the hot shot new guy EJ), and the intern (Tuel). The intern is not seriously being considered for the big project/promotion. They just want to see him put in the hard work and maybe make room for him as a permanent employee.
  17. I haven't read through every post, but damn, you guys are assuming EJ has already won the job. His play the other night was encouraging, but it was hardly dominant. What happens if Kolb lights it up Friday night and EJ doesn't do as well, plus Kolb has better practices than EJ? It just might be EJ is not quite ready to start yet. If that's the case, guess what? We go into New England with Kolb as the starter. You put the guy in there that is going to win you games right now. If all this is the case, it may be EJ starts mid season or something, it hardly means he is a bust if he doesn't start game 1. You think a coach is interested in sending a rookie out there in the regular season just so he can get experience? Bull, he's going to start the guy that has a better chance of getting wins, that's how a coach keeps his job.
  18. I see a lot of complaints about the NFL Network coverage, this technically was NOT NFL Network coverage, this was the Colts broadcast team. It said right in the beginning Colts Football, so naturally that's all they care about is what Indy does. I'm sure the Bills broadcast was the same the other way around. What I liked most about the coverage was how they started talking positive things about the Bills, that normally doesn't happen in preseason games.
  19. I was so impressed with Tuel, even though he was going against backups, I actually think Kolb may have been hurt. If they only go with two QB's, not sure if they would do what Washington did and go with two rookies, but if Tuel and EJ just continue to get better, why keep Kolb. Helped: Other than Tuel helping himself, would be McKelvin. As mentioned earlier Luck and Hasselbeck didn't have too many problems moving the ball.
  20. Think I read it would be a penalty only if done towards an opposing player.
  21. I think I'd like to see his defense play a few games before predictions are made that he's leaving. Last time we thought the defense was going to be all that, they sucked.
  22. So you're saying without Fitz we are the worst team in the league. Sorry but that could be us with Fitz.
